How to Apply Bronzer

Hey, Makeup Geeks! Summer is right around the corner, so it’s time to pull out your bronzer to get that fresh summer glow! Here’s a few tips on how to apply bronzer…the right way! The trick to applying bronzer is to pick the best shade for your skin tone and apply it sparingly. A shade too dark and an application too heavy can leave you looking muddy. Oh no!

How I apply bronzer:

I like to apply bronzer somewhat differently than other makeup artists do. I always love creating a sun kissed glow, so I tend to go just a bit darker with my application. Here are my go-to tips:

• Use either a contour brush or a rounded face brush to apply bronzer just under the cheek bones—blend upwards, never downwards, onto the cheeks.
• Apply bronzer along your temples and top of your forehead to give your face definition.
• Pick your correct shade—you want a color that is just 2-3 shades darker than your skin tone.
• Choose your fav finish. It’s up to you if you want a shimmery bronzer or a matte finish—just be aware that although shimmery ones will give a nice glow they can also emphasize your pores.
