The Best Eyeshadow Colors for Blue Eyes

To understand how to compliment blue eyes, let’s first review some color theory.  In the color wheel, you’ll see that blue is across from yellow and orange. This is why our blue eye babes love those warm colors- think “fire colors” like orange, gold, coppers, and browns. Colors across from each other on the color wheel are called “complementary colors” and are amazing for helping your eye color stand out.

Here is a custom palette perfect for those blue eyed babes out there.  It has warm colors in it to enhance your eye color, while including several neutrals to keep this daytime appropriate.

ORANGE EYESHADOWS:

Orange may seem like a scary color to try but it’s actually amazing for adding richness to a neutral look. I love using a mid tone orange like Chickadee to blend out the crease, or using Morocco in the outer corner for a pop of color.

GOLD & COPPER EYESHADOWS:

Golds and coppers look amazing on the lid for you blue eyed babes! A gorgeous rich gold gives a shine to the eyes while helping your eye color stand out.  My favorite colors are Grandstand and Starry Eyed because they’re still neutral but look gorgeous on everyone.

Here’s some additional tips for blue eyes:

  • To make your eye color pop, wear orange, gold, or copper as these are contrasting colors to blue.
  • Neutral always look amazing on brown eyes, but warm browns are best like Cheetah Bear or Chocolate Wasted.
  • Since blue eyes are light, adding black or dark brown eyeliner to the waterline also helps them stand out. Just make sure to smudge a bit of brown under the lower lash-line to keep this from looking harsh.

Have fun with your makeup and remember that it’s just an art,
so whatever you feel like wearing works!

Much Love,
