DIY: Lash Growth Serum

OK my Makeup Geeks, today I have a super easy and fast DIY for you to try at home. As many of you know, in the past I used Latisse to try and enhance my natural lashes. And while it did work it was terribly expensive at $120.00 for 3ml of product. Recently, I was looking online for something I could do at home to make my lashes longer and thicker and I found this quick and easy recipe with all organic materials that you can easily find in your local drugstore or you may already have these in your home.

The hardest part about this is finding something to store it in. The best thing to use is a small jar that you can pick up at your local craft store. If you have a old paint pot, or mineral eyeshadow, you can reuse that container just make sure you clean it thoroughly and make sure it is well sanitized. You can also purchase empty eyeliner and mascara bottles for $1.33 – $1.95 USD at

  • Empty jar – I used a MAC Paint Pot jar
  • 1/4 of the jar with Aloe Vera Gel –  To Lengthen Lashes
  • 1/4 of the jar with Castor Oil – To Thicken Lashes
  • 1/2 of the jar with Vitamin E Oil – To Lengthen Lashes

With a small stick or the end of a small brush, combine all the ingredients until well blended. Use a spoolie and dip it into the mixture and wipe off the excess, the same way you would with an actual mascara. Apply this to clean lashes right before you go to bed and allow this to sit on your lashes .If using on your brows apply it to the eyebrows before bedtime as well. Make sure to do this nightly to get the full benefit of serum. I haven’t’ used this long enough to know exactly how well this works, but I will keep you updated with the differences I see in my lashes.

The other great thing about this is for those of you who don’t want or like to wear mascara but still want the wet, darker lash look you can apply this to your eyes as a sort of clear mascara. And that’s it, this is so much easier and SO much less expensive than all other lash and brow growth serums. So try this out and let me know what you think! As always, stay happy and healthy!

I have been doing this for a couple of months and I have noticed a great improvement in my lashes. My mascara also takes much better and I look like I have falsies on!

I also use castor oil, Jamaican Black, on my hair to thicken and promote growth… LOVE it!!

I think it’s worth mentioning that you need to be very careful when selecting the aloe vera gel.

Some brands contain alcohol.

It’s scary what can show up in those ingredient lists sometimes.

I can’t wait to hear if this works well for you. :-)

I have been using this for about a month and have noticed a really big differnce in my lashes. They are a lot longer. This really works!!!!
