Review: Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks

What is it?

Formulated with 50% more pigment than the traditional lipstick, Rouge Artist Intense gives an immediate true-to-color result. A blend of three natural waxes, the creamy texture glides on effortlessly for a long-lasting hold. The extensive color and texture range provides unlimited creativity.

My Opinion:

These lipsticks are super pigmented, vibrant, and perfect for the Makeup Artist and Makeup Junkie alike.  They come in 50 shades and 3 finishes:  Matte,  Pearl, and Satin.   What makes these stand out among other lipsticks is the richer pigmentation and the unique colors- true black, dark purple, and bright orange among many others!

Although I love how colorful these lipsticks are, the only downside is the texture can be a bit thick and dry…. For me, it’s ok as I always wear lipgloss on top.  The quality is still great, packaging is nice, and colors are beautiful.

$19 for one tube of lipstick? You’ve got to be kidding me! There’s no way in hell I would shell out enough money for three meals on a single item. Must be nice to be rolling in piles of money to shell out twenty bucks a piece on these types of things…

Sweetheart, no need to be harsh. People like spending money on different things, and Marlena likes makeup. It’s her job.

Agreed- I personally work hard for my money, and although 19 dollars may equal three meals in your mind, it equals one lipstick in mine; and I enjoy makeup, so why not spoil myself? I really don’t think you have a right to tell anyone how to spend their money; And I don’t “roll around in piles of money” I just invest in this; I could go to a drugstore, and spend 3 dollars on a lipstick that will last me a month because its crap- or I could spend 19 dollars on this and have it last me 12 times longer.

Some of my favorite lipsticks actually are the Revlon Matte ones- really nice! My fav colors are Pink Pout, Really Red, and Nude Attitude- and they’re just $6 :)

Marlena sweetie I need your email lol
have to tell you something got get in contact with you but lost your email please email me :) got something for your birthday and I would love to give it to you :)

If that’s the attitude you have, be thankful you’re not living in Australia. Over here, these retail for $35. You have no idea how lucky you guys are when it comes to the price of make up.

I’ve spent $40 on a tube of lipstick before. Feel free to chastise and berate me all you want.

$19 is quite reasonable, especially if a lipstick is long-wearing, because you’ll get more use out of it!

Emme, keep in mind that these are highly pigmented and would last longer than most lipsticks, as a cost conscious person I would buy these in my favorite colors as an investment, rather than buying the cheaper ones over and over again because of poor coverage.

The other day I was in the look for nice lipsticks, but I didn’t want to pay too much so I could be able to buy a few of them. Since I am addicted to Sephora (at the pharmacy even though I like Revlon, I still can’t test them and exchange or return them), I decided to give a try to the new lipstick line from Sephora (Matte, Satin and Glossy). Oh boy! they have improved their quality so much, they have tons of colors and they are $12. Their cream lipsticks are super pigmented, not dried or sticky, so girls give them a try since you got nothing to loose with Sephora’s return policy. Mac is great but you can’t return and they give you a hard time to exchange.

I LOVE amplified cremes. I only wish MAC would make more colors. Thanks for the review on the MUFE lipsticks. I’ve gotten 2 or 3 and I love them all. I wear them with the MUFE glosses – can’t remember what they are called.

thank you for the review love the colors and how you stay on top of whats new! it is cheaper then going to the store and risking buying them out when i just wanted to know what was new. i track a couple of makeup artist online (makes me sound like a stalker) but i love makeup, and you are my fav! you are so sweet, pretty and smart please keep up the good work!

I splurged and got #15. I love the color but its too sheer when I put it on my lips. I’d love to try #9, #36, #35, and #49. I’ll have to add them to my wish list!

Marlena, I love your website and all the tutorials and reviews. I have to put in effort to obtain some products, because some products are not available in the Netherlands. I’ll start my search for these lipsticks. They look awesome! Happy holidays
