I know Mary Kay has a good Oil Mattifier- the MAC one also works well for me. it’s called “Matte Gel”

Hey Marlena! I haven’t tried MAC’s Pure White yet- it looks tons more opaque than Gesso, which doesn’t even show on me (yes, I’m that pale!) is it, or is it just because it’s on your now tanned & glowing skin?
I think you’ll really like Pure White- it’s pretty potent. For a strong color, Ilike the pigments better as you can really pack them on. Pure White is my go to color for that “pop”

You’ll want to curl your lashes and apply eyeliner to the upper waterline- the dark base will make them look thicker
And apply a good 2 coats of mascara

OH MY GOSH…thanks alot for replyin to me. This means alot to me even to be talking to u. I saw this shimmer spray on tv on a show called ‘Style her famous’ hosted by makeup artist Jay Manual on channel E. I like it so much, but he doesnt say the brand name for the product. He calls it shimmer spray, its a gold colored spray in a black bottle and it looks so much better than powder or cream high-liters when sprayed onto the face. According to him, this is the product used by stars like biyonce to make their skin look glowing. it wud b great if u could do a review o have it in ur store. Love ur work. THANKS sooooo much

If you have rosy skin, then a peach blush would be good as it will contrast against your skin. And your best eyeshadow colors will be purple, green, and even teal

I was wondering if you would ever consider doing a tutorial on Stila’s Jewel Eye Shadow Palette. The shadows are beautiful with a creamy consistency with tiny glitter infused. It’s different from any shadow I’ve ever used. Or if that’s not possible maybe you could consider doing a tutorial using Urban Decay’s Stardust shadow? It has a similar sparkley creamy consistency. Thanks again for all your great tips, you are an inspiration!

hey marlena im suppose to do a coworkers makeup for a wedding on the fourth of sept and her bridesmade dress color is plum whar colors can i use for her eyeshadow i was thinking browns.. or even some purple in it.. help please!
I would do golds and browns- the color of the dress will be enough, so will be good to keep it a little neutral, but the gold will give it a pop

But maybe at night or on the weekends 
Dry Shampoo is a spray (or powder, but I like the spray better) that you can put on your roots to absorb extra oils. I use this when I’m trying to go 2 days between wshing my hair. It also gives volume at the roots. I like the Ojon one- don’t get the Bed Head one- it smells strong and made my hair white!

Blue eyes look beautiful with brown eyeliner and purple.
I would get the Milani Liquif’eye one or the Prestige Waterproof one- they’re both creamy. Try the purple one, you’ll like how it makes your blue eyes pop

and I do get stared at sometimes with the more dramatic looks, but I don’t care as I love the bright colors- color makes the world a prettier and happier place

And this one you can mix the color combos for lots of variations! My fav was putting white, then yellow, then green on the lid with blue smudged under the lashline. I put a light tan color in the crease to tone it down and it was very wearable!

Hey Marlena. Loved the look, I think the soda can series is BRILLIANT! I saw on TV a foundation and concealer by Sheer Coverage, I don’t know if you know anything about it, or have used it before. If you could do a review on it possibly or something to let us know how it really works and if it’s worth spending money that would be great
Hi Krystal, maybe I too can help. I bought the SHEER Cover minerals a few years ago, and compared to others that i’ve tried, it is NOT a good product. It probably contains the most product, but for the $$$, it should. The color is very chalky, very matte, and no matter what I try, it doesnt blend or buff well. Its more work than anything. I still have pretty full containers, and from time to time I’ll try some other method of application and its just not right. I’ve used the following minerals and it doesnt even match the least expensive; Bare Minerals, LOreal Minerals, MIlani Mineral foundation (they no longer make this which is a shame because its super!), Neutrogena Minerals foundation- the old and new formula (the old is my all time favorite mineral foundation but again, discontinued), Maybelline minerals loose and liquid foundation, both equally as bad as Sheer Cover, PUR minerals foundation compact, and revlon colorstay mineral foundation. I mostly use the sheer cover as a setting powder, or to catch shadow under my eyes. Have a good day!

I have a personal question for you, and you don’t have to answer if you’re not comfortable.
Did you receive formal education (i.e. college) for your profession or did you just teach yourself and go with it one day? 
I have found a new love in makeup (after my 10-year long tomboy-ish faze) and I might want to do it one day. I looked into a few makeup schools that offer “Associate’s” degrees or certifications, but they are upwards of $3,000 for tuition. I found on online school, but it did not seem legit. Is makeup artistry something you can just do because you’re good at it?
