I just wanted to tell you thank you for all of your tutorials. I purchased the mac studio fx and can’t wait to try it. Ive always used a sponge to apply foundation, but I threw them all out. The MAC girl convinced me to purchase the foundation brushes, but im not sure on how to use the 187 stipling brush. Could you do a tutorial on which brushes are used for what?

Where do I begin?…I admire you for you beauty inside and out!! I can’t even explain how much help you’ve been to me- I’ve been using make-up for quite some time now (I’m a faithful 4yr user of Bare Minerals and I looove it!) but the different techniques you teach in every vid are amazing… I love this vid- I recently bought MAC’s 187 brush and the Fix+…my next investment is the Makeup Forever concealer palette- my face is so so similar to yours (the redness, dark circles, really light skin), so I appreciate your routine! Is it better to apply concealer over foundation or under?
Thank you Marlena! I have had acne for most of my life and have a lot of scaring, etc. This is invaluable to know. A lot of people tell me that I have flawless skin, however, like you. I just use product in a very inventive way. I have seen many stars without make up and none have flawless skin. It’s great to have products that can help us camoflage our imperfections. I’m off to buy the Make Up Forever pallete tomorrow! I can totally justify such a useful product. Thanks for the tutorial.

I love your site. I’m also not so in love with Mac’s Studio Fix fluid or even they hyper real so I recently picked up a sample of Clinique’s superfit foundation. I really really like it. It covers well and lasts all day (longer than both of the mac products) I believe it can be used on all skin types expect extremely oily. I’m combination/oily and it works great for me. Check into it when you have a chance.

I was wondering, I’m a darker skin tone and I was wondering does the MUFE concealer palette no.4 have the same concept, as in a shade for redness and a shade for dark circles? Since the colours are different, it confused me a bit. Thanks!

I love this… I swear we have the same skin. I have redness in the same spots, combo skin, and super white. Its really nice how u took the time to do this longer detailed video. it makes me feel very excited to know that i can achieve the flawless look to. but i haven’t found a good liquid foundation. studio fix makes me break out and MUFE hd sinks into my pores even when i use clinique pore perfecter first. sooo i might try the dream matte mousse or whatever it is. haha thank u!! hope u feel better. we are visiting central PA this weekend (near Penn State) and its been snowing. blahhhhhhhh

I’m new to Makeup Geek and I’m in love! Thank you so much for your tutorials and for this site. Had a question for you: I use Philosophy’s The Present (Clear Makeup) as my primer then Bare Escentuals Foundation and then the Hydrating Mineral Veil. Do you know of any issues with The Present and cream concealers? I read some reviews about the cream concealers just “sliding off.” Wanted to know your thoughts before I bought the pallete.
Also, what order would you recomend I apply the products? I am thinking primer, BE foundation, then concealer? Wasn’ttoo sure when I would cover red, under eye darkness etc. since I am skipping the liquid foundation step.

Hey Marlena! I love your videos! I started contouring my cheeks like you a few months ago and you can definitely see the contouring in pictures and I LOVE it!! lol =)
For highlighting underneath the eyes, I use Bare Escentuals in “Rose Radiance” or Mac’s Mineralized Skin Finish in “So Gentle.” I’m going to have to try out the Mac Cream Colored Base in Pearl or Luna (I’ll have to check your video again to see which one you recommened for medium skin tones! lol)

I might have to try the contour trick you used! Although I have a very LARGE double chin, who knows if contouring will help. I might have to get Luna, too! LOVE the look!
I also tried the green concealer but it just never worked for me. My redness comes from tweezing and scars!

So i first wanted to say i love your videos, i was directed to this website from youtube. I don’t have the worst skin in the world but occasionally i get those spots that you just need to get rid of and this a perfect video for me to help with those days. Plus i have terrible bags. I also wanted to note, you mentioned Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation…That stuff works wonders for people who just want some coverage and a healthy look. I wore that stuff all through high school with just mascara and lip gloss. Unfortunately my face has changed since then so i cant wear the same products and have the same effect. heyy i really like your videos and you look really good after you put on all that make up so i was wondering if you could help me out. I dont really put on a lot of make up, i put on chap stick and SOMETIMES eye liner and thats about it. So I was wondering whats a good way to start wearing make up but not too intense. I also have really pale skin and freckles AND i break out a lot (which is why i dont wear make up in the first place)

OMG..1st off..I watched this entire video specifically to see if you did the under chin contouring! I had no idea Fergie did it but its been my secret for years! I also do my blush exactly like you do. I guess what I basically want to say is..Thank You for making me feel like I actually know what Im doing! I was so proud of myself! Oh and Im as pale as you and the foundation I love is Revlon Custom Creations I use the palest mix (020) but my best friend uses the same one (shes way darker than me) and she just turns the color up higher. It has great coverage and is only around $12. Give it a try and lemme know what you think!

i went to see the palettes and saw that the one for my skin tome, which is medium, looked a little different then yours so im unsure if it would work the same. Like for example, the green color in yours u say its for redness, well in the medium one that color is red so im like uhhhh what? haha So maybe im asking a stupid question but will it work different on me?
I’m an executive but sooo clueless about makeup. Even the Clinique counter is intimidating. I can’t tell you what a relief it was to watch your tutorials. Even the simple stuff like how to apply eyeliner and what types of brushes you use is much appreciated. The whole time I’m thinking, “wow! Question for you though….when I try to put that much product on my face (I have dark circles, rosacea, brown pigment from sun damage ) my face gets really cakey looking, or the makeup starts to ball up a bit, or it just looks thick. How do you keep yours from looking like that? In pictures it looks great, but when you see me in real life…..aaaghhh…watch out! Unfortunately, it’s a catch 22 for me, because with all the skin issues…I NEED a lot of coverage, but when I try to cover it with all the concealers, and foundations and powders….it just looks awful!

Just wanted to say that you are amazing with make up and I have learnt a lot from your video’s! I would love to get the Sephora makeup forever concealer palette as I have lots of spots and blemishes (a lot of people have advised me to get green concealer and I haven’t been able to find any). I went onto the Sephora website and they don’t seem to ship to the UK? Does anyone know where I can get a concealer palette with these colours in the UK?
(Also I have always wondered how people get not shiny but not matte skin if you get what I mean. I use pressed powder as I naturally have oily skin and powder turns my skin matte but I will try the fix+ spray so I am less matte but not oily.)

My face is very white and pale. I want a liquid foundation that will cover up my red spots and etc. I use covergirl trublend liquid foundation and for the powder I also use covergirl buff beige. I notice that it doesn’t cover up any red spots and pimples etc. I want my face to be flawless with a tan tone. I never use Relvon before but after hearing you said that Relvon Colorstay foundation works very well, what color would you recommend for me since my face is very light and pale? Also, do you use any lotion on your face before you put on the concealer? Also, what set of brushes or brand do you recommend for me? Please let me know asap because I then will go shopping for these products and things. I really need a change on how to get flawless skin. I would appreciate so much. Thanks.

Hello Marlena it’s Ruby I was wondering if you had any ideas on flawless skin with crows feet I’m still having problems tring to conceal and stay smooth through out the day! My face is going crazy on me I usually have an oily T-Zone but I also get dry my eyes are what I’m concrened about what do I do?
theres a couple of different makeup forever pallettes online and im planning on buying one. im pretty tan but idk if i need the green or the darker shaded pallette for tanner people. if you could help me out thatd be great.

Hey a good foundation I have found that is very affordable and is very good is Perfect Wear from Avon. It’s very light and also check out the mark. products too from Avon. I am really pleased with these brands and they don’t make a hole in your pocket if you know what I mean lol. Thanks for all your tips and tutorials I really enjoy it!
I don’t wear much foundation because i have such pale skin (yes, lighter than yours Marlena) and I can’t find one that works with my skin…do you have any suggestions for looking for a foundation that can match very very fair skin. Also, in the summer I tan very deeply, so do I need a darker pigment for both times of the year to transition with my tan??

I was taking a look at your concealer palette and I was totally fascinated with it. I have under eye bags which I hate a lot and even though i am in my 20’s, they make me feel like an old lady.
I have been trying to learn about concealers and I still want and need to find out how to conceal those lines or wrikles that make us feel old.
I have been searching for the way to conceal under eye bags, but is hard. That’s why i am requesting for this kind of tutorials.
