Here’s just a quick look at my new studio- more info to come on where I’m at and what’s in the future 
Yes, I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted a tutorial 
I’ve been gone the entire month of October and have had a TON going on the last few months… But, I’ll upload my update video soon that explains why I’ve moved, where I’m at, and what’s going on in the future!
For those who have emailed asking what equipment I use, here’s the list:
Camera: Canon Powershot S3 IS (eBay / Amazon.com )
Video Camera: Canon Vixia HV30 (eBay)/ See new Model (HV40) on Amazon.com)
Lighting: Studio Lighting Kit (bought from ebay a year ago) (eBay)
Video Editing Software: Corel Videostudio (it’s ok…) (eBay/ Amazon.com)
All decorations were bought from Hobby Lobby and TJMaxx

Btw… I ike the plain curtain better for the tutorials, I even liked the pink wall as a background. The curtain with the background was kind of distracting for the eye.

Great info Marlena! What brand and watt bulb do you use in your umbrella lights? Also what was the price range you paid for the studio lighting kit equipment? I am in the process of buying this and want to get an idea of the correct or somewhat normal pricing….Thanks for all your help!!
I paid I think between 100-150 for the whole set- lights, umbrella, tripod, and bag to hold it all in. I got from ebay about a year ago
I’m not sure what watt the bulbs are as they came with the lights- I’ll have to see if it’s on there

It’s a DVD case with slots that perfectly fit the mac palettes 
Hi marlena i was wondering how you named your search for these dvd cases on ebay.
I also noticed that you turned the cases to their sides, do they have slots on both sides?

The studio is gorgeous. I love the little details. However, I liked the old curtains better. Still gorgeous all the same!
I have been trying to think for the longest how I want my office studio set up. This would be wear the models come to get their makeup done but also where I do my tutorials and vids for YT and I love how you just have the 2 desk set up. Definitely going to be doing that in the future!

Hey Marlena! Glad to have you back. I can speak for me and everyone else and say how much we appreciate your advice on makeup. I used to work at a salon a couple of years ago and the owner never showed me any techniques and was self-taught. I have learned so much from you it’s crazy! I’m a school teacher right now but still love learning about wearing makeup. Some of my kids even look at me sometimes and ask me why I have so many sprinkles around my eyes! I have never met you before but I can tell that you truly care about people and want to make a difference in this world. Thank you for all that you have done. I have to say I am in tutorial withdrawal too. I can’t wait to see your next one. Good luck with everything!

I just love your tutorials, and your website.
But I have one comment regarding your new studio, I love the colors and I think it´s very “Chic”, but the black curtains, I just think they’re a bit too dark. And since you use them as the background for the tutorials, don’t get me wrong but they are a bit depressing.

Glad to have you back. I just want to say how much I appreciate your advice on makeup. In the past I never used make up but I have an immune system disease that make look yellow and kind of sick and one day I came across one of your tutorials. I took the chance and I have learned so much from you. My selfstem has improved a lot because I look normal again. I know a lot of people might think “ it’s just make up”… but for my has been more than that, so I just want to say THANK YOU for all you have done for me without even knowing you. Your new studio is just amazing; very girlie, sweet and delicate at the same time..it´s just like you..has a little marlena touch that´s very confortable to our eyes! Now, about your second video…on youtube..life,love and moving on..I have to be honest with you..i cried a lot! Not because I am sad about everything that´s happening in your life..because they are not bad stuff..it´s just life changing!Changing life is ever important and make us more stronger and mature. I am going through some similar problems in my life too and I know how hard it is to change it and learn how to deal and get used to a new life. But somewhere, somehow we find a light from the deepest of our heart that make us see that we don´t deserve that much tears and the we have to move on for every little thing we do in life. We will always suffer when we love too much…it can be a boyfriend, family, university or job…when we give our heart and soul to things we love tears will come along too! I truly wish you the best! Fantastic! I love it!!! The curtains are nice too. They make a good back drop. Wouldnt want a loud color or pattern that would clash with the many fantastic ideas and tutorials you do for us make-up geeks ! I luv the studio!! Luv it, Luv it, Luv it! I had a question for you. When I do my make up and take pictures the lighting is so bad, it does get good pictures of the color on my eyes and the blending. Wow. I love the studio. It is amazing. You gave me a great idea with the black back drops for my studio. I always seem to get bad before and after pictures from my lilac walls but I think the black back drop will make better pictures with the right lighting. Keep up with the Stunning tutorial videos. I love watching them and learning better techniques.
