~ Marlena’s Hair Care Routine ~
Moroccan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
This makes your hair super shiny and soft! Plus it is gentle on your hair and will not strip it of its color. I cannot say enough good things about the Morrocan Oil products- they’re all amazing! I use this every time I wash my hair.
Where to Buy: (Amazon) or (eBay)
Clairol Colorseal Conditioning Gloss
This helps your color last longer and makes your hair glossy and soft! I use this twice a week in place of my conditioner.
Where to Buy: (Amazon) or (eBay)
Loreal Triple Protection Hair Color Cream- Dark Chocolate Brown
This color is my favorite as it’s a rich dark brown, but I also love how smooth my hair feels after I use this hair color! This is a temporary hair color and lasts through 28 shampoos, so is great for a quick change in color.
Where to Buy: (Amazon) or (eBay)
Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray
This works great in adding volume to the roots without leaving hair crunchy like some hairspray and mousse products do. Just spray on your roots while your hair is damp, then style as normal.
Where to Buy: (Amazon) or (eBay)
MAC Fix + Spray
This is my favorite product ever! Not only do I use it after doing my makeup to give my face a nice glow, but I also use it as a detangler. I spray a little bit in my hair while damp, then blow dry and style as normal- it helps to give my shiny hair!
Where to Buy: MAC
.
*Make sure to also drink plenty of water, eat lots of veggies and fruits, and take a multi vitamin each day- they’ll all help promote healthy hair
And here is what Vitamin E is for:
“Vitamin E for hair growth is beneficial because vitamin E has the effect of a scalp massage all the time. It contains valuable antioxidants that help to keep the immune system up and improves circulation to all parts of the body, including the scalp.”

This isn’t really related to the video, but where do you shop for clothes, Marlena?
Your top in this video (from what I can see) looks really cute.
This top is from Windsor- I think they have an online store too!
I LOVE that store!
Hey Marlena, i liked your top too, but i went on their website and they dont have plus sizes
Do they have them at your store or you dont shop for plus size clothes, i apologize, its hard to tell on cam, i know you lost a lot of weight recently, so probably not. Thank You.
hi marlena
i loved your video as always, you are really beautiful. well i have a question for you, i have a problem of hairfall and living in UAE adds to it, as they say its due to the water as well, wot product would u recommend, will the moroccan oil shampoo help? and im still noot sure if i will find it here. and also will vitamin E help me 4 the same problem.
Hey Marlena,
Yr hair looks really nice in this one. As for the vitamins, does fish oil vitamins help the hair? Or is vitamin E essential?
I take Salmon Oil also- I imagine that helps also, but I would do a little research before taking
Flaxseed oil is amazing for your hair and skin, i put a tablespoon in my oatmeal or smoothie each morning and my both my hair and skin are so much softer.
GODDESS MARLENA .. I hope you are fine and well today

Hello lovely
I will definitely try to pop in more on the forum- that is a huge goal of mine that I’ve been very much slacking in
It’s always a balancing act between time on the forum and answering emails- I’ll find a solution though!
When I see these weird posts…I wonder, whats up with them? I wonder if anyone else gets weirded out by them. If they were addressed to me, I would be completely uncomfortable!
yea i agree…weird and uncomfortable!!
Hi, Marlena!
I’m so glad you posted this video! Your hair’s been looking gorgeous these days.
I’ve had super long hair my whole life and recently cut it short only to HATE it! What was I thinking?! Now I’m desperately trying to grow it back as healthy as possible.
Is the Moroccan Oil Shampoo still ok for non-colored hair? I don’t color mine and never have, so I’m not sure if it makes a difference in what products to use.
Thanks! ~Sarah
Yes, the Moroccan Oil products are fine for non colored hair also- it’s mainly for just improving health and shine. Every hairdresser I’ve talked to raves about this line
you i m just watching always that your brilliant beautiful i have all your video your pics in my laptop i love you honey your my sweetheart
Hi Marlena, your hair looks fabulous as always! I’ve heard more and more people using non-permanent colors because it has less damaging effects due to lack of amonia. I love the color that you have picked, this will certainly be my next color! Thanks giving such great tips.
If you have to use a hairspray, what would you recommend?
Thanks,
Katie
You know, I don’t use too much hairspray anymore, but when I did, I loved Sebastians spray in the big silver bottle
Thank you for the awesome vid! I have seen the Moroccan Oil products but was too afraid to “test” them out due to the price. Its good to have honest opinions about them. My sis uses the curl oil on my 4yr old niece (naturally curly) and she loves it too.
How often do you shampoo your hair and what do you do on those “in between” days?
I would get the little bottles first to try- don’t bother with the shine spray, the shampoo and conditioner work just fine on their own.
I wash mine 5-6 days a week as I workout 5 days and sweat quite a bit
Marlena
How do I reach you and ask you a question?
Hi Marlena, you look stunning! I used some Nioxin pills to help grow my hair also and it did help out a lot! Wonder if you’ve received my email yet…….
I’m also very happy that you’ve been posting a lot of videos lately!!!!!!!!
I haven’t received your email yet- did you send through the contact button on the site?
Hey Marlena-
I was wondering what you would suggest for curly hair. My hair is really curly and frizzy and normally I use serum to flatten it out a little but is there anything better than that?
You can try what I do. I use products meant to make straight hair curly, like Spray It
Curly Instant Curls Spray, which do not actually work to make straight hair curly, but in my case and hopefully yours, makes curly hair, more neat and defined. It has worked marvelously for me, so I hope it helps you.
Thanks! I’ll definitely try it out. What brand is that?
I have fine curly hair and I have tried just about every product out there for us curly heads!! I have fallen in absolute LOVE LOVE LOVE with Bumble & Bumble’s Curl Conscience Cream, as well as their Curl Conscience Foaming Mousse for Fine Hair. They are pricey ($25 for each bottle, 3-4oz each bottle). The cream lasts more than a month, the mousse doesn’t. It lasts me about a month. Yes, it is pricey and you don’t get a whole lot but it works amazingly!!!
Hey, I’ve been meaning to ask you something. I have had a problem with lining my waterline. the moment I touch a pencil to my waterline, I tear up. I don’t itch or feel irritated or anything like that, and it doesn’t get red or anything like an allergic reaction, the only thing is, that I tear up so that I can’t get a good lining on my water line. Have you come across this? Am I just not able to line my water line/tear duct?
Make sure you’re using a liner that’s ok for the waterline, but maybe try a gel or cream liner instead of pencil- it glides much easier and is pretty fast. I keep a tissue handy to dab any water if I need it
Thanks I’ll try that.
Hey marcelona, i just love ur video nd hair. Basically I m from Pakistan and d products u suggested like d shampoo will not be available here nd i think i will also nt suitable for pakistani weather wat u think? we are asia ppl this shampoo really works here??
If your hair is oily and it is humid out, it may be too heavy- not sure… But, if your hair is normal to dry, it works wonderfully! You could possibly just use the shampoo and use your normal conditioner- I find that works really well also
Hey Marlena! I just wanted to say that I have been waiting for this video for pretty much FOREVER! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. The color is beautiful and the shini-ness is awesome. I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow and I’m doing it just like yours. Thanks for everything you do! -Katie
You’re welcome- anytime!
Hi Marlena,
I was just wondering what the Moroccan products make your hair smell like? Because every time I’ve purchased expensive hair products they always make my hair smell funky and I cant stand it!! lol So I just wanted to know if this one maybe has a pleasant smell to it. Thanks!
Miranda
Oh no, this smells AMAZING! It’s like tropical heaven -hehe
Hi..MARLENA:
1. What kabuki brush you prefer
2.Do you like Benefit producs?
THANK YOU. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!
I actually love the medium kabuki brush we have in the MUG store- not the big Italian one, but the black one- it works really well
And I love Benefit’s blushes and lipsticks- I haven’t tried everything else yet
Hi, and Happy Saturday! I have a question, but first your hair looks healthy and natural, and I would love to see you with a center part. Have you considered ever doing the “babe hair” long fluffy layers like Nicole Scherzinger? Anyhow my REAL QUESTION is can you and is it safe to use a liquid liner on the waterline? I met a woman in the makeup isle franticly searching for a liquid h20 proof liner to use in her waterline, and I wanted to beg her not to. Is there one that you know of?
I tried to steer her toward the Revlon Colorstay retractable liner because its the boooomb for staying power and not creeping to the inner corners, but she was firm on her choice, saying that someone used it on her before and she wanted to try it on her own.
I really don’t recommend liquid liner on the waterline as it’s really hard to get off. I noticed also that when I use liquid liner, if I get any near my eye, it burns a bit. Tell her that cream or gel liner works really well and is much safer!!
I agree that there is no other product like Moroccan Oil.
They also smell great! I get compliments everyday on how good I smell, and most of the time it really is just my shampoo. I also use the actual oil (NO, it does not make your hair oily!!!!), it actually helps with blowdrying time, and cuts it in half, which also improves your hair because it isn’t under the heat as long. The styling cream helps with frizz and fly aways, and the hair spray is delicious smelling, and also a great root lifter. The only product by Morroccan Oil that I don’t love is the shine spray, that will leave hair a little greasy, but the scent is awesome so sometimes I just mist it on my clothes. LOL…. I’m waiting for them to come out with a body lotion or spray… its soooo yummy. I have used all their products (minus the curling cream) for about a year now, and I swear by them. I have turned all my friends on to it, and believe they have changed my life and my hair! If you have any questions about their products feel free to ask me. they are awesome!
I know! i swear my hair is completely different texture now that I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner- I love it!
This seems to be really good but I think it won’t work for me.
I don’t know why, maybe stress or something has changed my hair. My hair’s always been thin but it used to be a little bit dry but now it gets not to the point to be oily but it doesn’t stand as long as it used to. There’s no volume and I have to wash it every other day. Oh! And now I wear it short.
So what would you suggest for this type of hair?
Mine’s actually very much the same! My hair has thinned quite a bit in the last 2 years
I think you’re over washing it- I wash mine a lot too, and when we do that, our scalp produces more oil to compensate for it.
I talked to several hairdressers, and they told me to use dry shampoo in between washes to help with the oil. Then the hair will not be as oily and get used to not being washed as much. I hope that helps!
But I’m not washing it every single day, I use to wash it every other day, I mean, isn’t that a matter of hygiene? I guess…
A dry shampoo? Hum like what? Do you know any brand? At the moment I’m using Pantene Aqua Light. It is really great actually but I still have the same washing routine, my hair doesn’t stand longer than 2 days.
By the way…it’s nice talking to you. Not only you can help me but I also can improve my English
Hi! Great tips.
How long did your hair grow each month? Mine takes forever, but maybe because it’s curly. I’ll for sure use the Vit, E routine.
Thanks a bunch!
Mine takes forever too! It’s been a year since I’ve grown it out just to the point it is now- I think it’s 1/4 ” each month for me…
Hi Marlena and all the MUGs out there
Thanks for this video, I think you have great hair (and skin too!)
I just wanted to react about one thing you said at 1’15 : “but anyway, they’re vitamins, they’re good for your health!”
Vitamins are far from harmless, some of them can actually cause serious health problems if you take more of them than the recommanded daily amount. So you have to be actually careful about what vitamin you take and how much.
This site is very informative : http://www.vitamins-nutrition.org/vitamins/vitamin-overdose.html
Great info- thank you so much! I completely agree- I don’t want to overdose on vitamins
Awesome tips!! Your hair is so beautiful so healthy and soo long..As much as I would love to grow my hair long its just to hot in TX for me to grow it..Thanks again for the wonderful tips!! xoxo
BTW what kind of heat protectant do you use for your hair?
I don’t use heat protectant most of the time as I don’t use heat tools most days- I’ll blow dry just a little bit after my hair is 80% dry. But, I do like the Treseme one
Hi Marlena,
I’m afraid that if I use a not-permanent dye, my hair would get some red undertones, especially for brighter tones and these become more obvious the more one washes her hair. This is what I have seen on other people dying their hair with not-permanent colour creams. Do you think this is true from your experience? What is your opinion about silicone in hair products? Does your shampoo/conditioner contain some? Here in Germany it is a big thing recently that most of the hair products, especially these from the drug stores, contain silicone and how harmful this is for the hair. Thank you for your answers and keep doing such great tutorials!!!
I need to do more research on the silicone as I haven’t heard much about it- I can look and see if the Moroccan products have it?
If you use brighter colors, it can fade to orangy red as I’ve had that happen. But, by the time it fades to that color, I usually reapply the next round of color (non permanent)
Marlena,
Thank you for all that you do. I just discovered your site and I visit it multiple times each day for tips and suggestions on product. I have lot’s to catch up on:)
Again, great hair tutorial!
I’m sorry the following questions does not apply to this hair tutorial. It applies to the previous tutorial about the “Modern Bride.”
I’m seeking your advice for the Modern Bride look using all (eyes, cheek, lip) Mac colors for a tan/olive skin tone. I am starting out as a makeup artist and I’ve been practising the look you posted many times over, however, it looks great on my sisters, one is fair the other is a medium skin tone.
I have also practiced with deeper and brighter colors for a friend who has a tan/olive skin tone, but I quite can’t achieve the same beautiful impact. I know my trouble is in the color selection, I’m sure your guidance will help tremendously. I have scheduled a wedding to do in two months and I wish to practice the colors you suggest many times before the bridal trial.
I understand this is a lot I am asking, I’m sorry, but know I am extremely appreciative.
Sincerely,
Your new and devoted makeup geek follower:) Lilia.
Hi Lilia
For darker skin, I really like MAC’s tan pigment on the lid or use a golden color as golds look gorgeous on dark skin tones. For the browns, they need to be darker or even use a black for that same effect. Let me know if that works for you!
Great tips, but I’m worried about my hair, it takes forever to grow each time I cut it, can anyone help me?
Just get the minimal amount cut each time, and cutting way back on using heat tools helps- at least it has for me
omg thankyou so much!
this is brilliant
iv’e just rescently died my hair so i cant wait to check out the nice and easy colour seal
thanks again
p.s
keep on doing what your doing it’s amazing:)
x
I use the same hair dye and I agree that it’s great! I remember that you said before about Mac Fix + Spray and your hair but I’ve never tried it on my hair (probably I should). But I do like using it after foundation and powder = amazing effect!
Your GOURGEOUS, MARLENA!! (:
I used to have really long, super duper thick hair. I would always have to cut it because I’d get split ends. Since my hair was too puffy, I would straighten it. However, at the end of year 2008, during the summertime, I lost about 3/4 of my hair! I keep losing hair. and I don’t seem to understand how to rejuvenate it. I drink plenty of water though. maybe i should get vitamins. But, I really miss the thickness of my once beautiful hair.
Hey Marlena!
Where (in-town) do you get your nails done? I need a new place badly!
I really like the Top Coat salons- they’re more modern looking, good prices, and do a good job
That is right by my work! Thanks:)
Hi Marlena,
I was wondering the name brand of the Vitamen E and pre-natal pills that you take. I want to start taking those and wasn’t sure if there is a specific brand that is safe and better. Thank you and I lovee all of your videos =]
The company I get most of my vitamins from is GNLD as they’re a bit more potent, but for these 2, I take the ones from my local drugstore- can’t remember the name, but they’re in a green bottle.
I would ask the pharmacist which one he/she recommends
I’ve used the Morrocan Oil Line for quite some time- it’s a bit pricey, but very worth it.
Wow, out of all of the tutorials that I watched at You Tube, I love you the most. !! Can you do a review on BHProducts, I want to buy those palettes, and I dont know if they are worth it
thank you.
Wow… You lost a lot of weight during this years, what did you do … Love ya..
The BH palettes are the same ones sold in many stores- MUG store, Coastal Scents, ebay, Amazon, etc… My favorite is the 120 palette and the 28 neutral one
Hi Marlena!! I was thrilled when I saw the title for this video! I just started using Moroccan Oil products after my sister gave me two bottles and I love them!!! My hair is growing fairly long so I think I’ll have to get some bigger bottles because I hate using too much and running out before I can get some more! With your longer hair, do you find you have to use more of the product? Paying so much for them also causes me to want to use less. But all in all, they rock!
Also, do you get your hair professionally done at the salon once in a while? Do you think that dries out the hair even more? I’m planning on getting my first salon dye done very soon, but I’m hoping that won’t prevent it from continuing to grow!
Thanks for the tutorial Marlena! I check back everyday! You’re a star!!!
HI Jessica, I hope I can be helpful, heres a tip. I pretty much keep long hair and have tried so many products, but there really is a method to cleansing your hair and any cleasning and conditiong products you use will seem to last much longer. If you take a quarter size dollop of shampoo and focus on working it all over your scalp, using the fingertips to really vigorously massage your scalp, you will be efficiently shampooing your hair, as the scalp is the part of your hair that gets “dirty”, the shaft of your hair down to the ends is already dead, and relies on moisture and oil from your scalp. So when you rinse, let the shampoo suds run down to the ends of your hair and that will be plenty to get your hair super clean. With conditioning I do the opposite, applying the conditioner from the ends and working upward without adding more conditioner. My hair has grown to waistlength ( not by choice, but from having a baby and no time to cut or use many styling tools) and I dont use up any more product tan when it was just past my shoulders. I know this was long but hope it helps!
wow- that’s really good advice!
I think I will try that tomorrow when I shower
Jessica,
I do have my hair professionally colored sometimes- I used to more often, and make sure you stress to your stylist or ask before you book that they use gentle dyes that will not damage your hair! Ask what coloring system they use and research or ask around if anyone has had problems with it damaging their hair
Thank you soo much to you both! These tips are super helpful!! Me and my hair will be thankful after my next wash!
hey marlena,
i am really interested in the morrocan oil line, but as it is so pricey, i would like to know if it works well on african american hair. if not is there anything else you could recommend? my hair has gone haywire since the birth of my now 1 year old son. any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve heard from friends of mine that it works really well with African American hair as it’s very smoothing- if your hair is really dry and/or frizzy, then you may want to just try the Moroccan shine spray (don’t use though if your hair is fine or oily as it’ll weigh it down)
hiiii marlena u look STUNNING with the healthy mane! i had to chop all mine off to about shoulder length because it was soooo damaged from all the coloring ! i am abit sad because i reallyyyyy want to have long lucious locks when i wake up tomorrow morning, but hey, i gotta have abit of patience right? do you have any specific tips aimed at growing hair as fast as possible? and how long did it take you to grow your amazing hair to this length ???
you are amazing marlena! keep up the fantastic work!
mwah xxxxxx
I know the feeling! It’s seems like FOREVER to get it just to this length
It does take patience, but it’s been a year now to get it to the length in this vid… *sigh*
Hi Marlena,
I had a quick question in regards to your color. You said you have naturally dark hair, did you apply this color direclty to you dark hair or did you lighten it and put this one on?
I know that light colors one lift dark colors wondering if this color is not as dark as your hair is now but has a lighter tone to it.
Thanks.
I put it directly to my dark hair- this one is just a shade or two lighter than my natural color, but I do have highlights in my hair that picked up the color better and are much lighter. I REALLY recommend (just from personal experience!) that if you want highlights, go to a salon as home kits really don’t give the same results and can be damaging
Hi Marlena
I love all your makeup tutorials. You are truly amazing & extremely talented. I was wondering is the Loreal Triple Protection Hair Color Cream- Dark Chocolate Brown the same color that you had your hair in the Naked Palette- a classic Kardashian smoky eye tutorial? My second question is what products do you use when you curl/wave you hair? Take care, doll !
Besos from Puerto Rico
Hi Yamaris!
Actually for that video, I did a mixture (since I need 2 boxes now of hair color) of this color above with “Egyptian Plum” by Clairol- both are non permanent hair colors
Oh, and for wavy hair I’ll do a tutorial soon as Taryn showed me how and it turned out AMAZING!
I totally agree Moroccan oil is the best expensive but it does the job..
Thanks for the video Marlena I was wondering what kind of products you used for those amazing strands of hair you have.Love the video… When are you going to do a tutorial about eye brows I’m pretty shure you’ve read this several times the reason why I’m asking is because I need to know how much do you take out how much is to much… have you ever encountered a client that just over did it and its not the correct amount of hair specially for the shape of face you have.
Any how thank you for the video it has nice tips, keep on rocking girl…
I know I’ve gotten so many emails asking for a brow vid, so I need to tape this week- I plan on posting it in 2-3 weeks as I still need to post the rest of the soda series, makeup artist series, and back to school looks (whew!)
I love the Moroccan oil, but haven’t tried the shampoo and conditioner. I was wondering if you have ever tried Pureology’s Nano Works? It’s a zero sulfate shampoo and conditioner, which they say is better for your hair. I have been buying both the shampoo and conditioner and believe they help my hair, but I would like to know your thoughts on both.
A couple hairdressers have really recommended that line- I haven’t tried it yet, but have heard it’s great!
Hi Marlena
My friend has very dark brown hair and she has blonde streaks in her hair and she wants to ask you does dying your hair with Loreal Triple Protection Hair Color Cream- Dark Chocolate Brown damages your hair ?
Thanks
Ashly
I haven’t experienced any damage to my hair at all- it’s been very gentle, but let her know that if she dyes over the blond streakes, it will be hard to get that color out. So, make sure to cover those sections if she wants them to stay blond!
Hi Marlena. thanks again for the video… and tips.
Sorry, but I dind’t get the first name of vitamins.. somenthing like prenedol??? the other is the E..
thanks
Jenny
They’re Prenatal vitamins, but from what the other muggies have said, that Biotin works better- I’m looking into it now
Hi Marlena.
. Do yu have any mousse and hairspary products suggest for me?:)
Thank you so much for the tips love yur hair ALOT!
I have a problem, i have real LONG hair and i want it thicker. so do yu have any products that i can try? and…. i also like my hair curly but i dont like the way it makes my hair feel after i wash it
THANKSYUS
If you don’t like using products in your hair, you can still curl it, but right after you curl it, pin the curls to your head and let them sit for 10 minutes to cool- the curls will last longer
Hi Marlena,
Thanks a ton for this wonderful video.. from a long time i was looking for a good shampoo and conditioner… and i am glad you did this video….Recently you have been looking a lot healthier and more gorgeous… can you pls do a video on how you r losing weight and becoming healthy….
I sure will!
Hi, im not sure if you said it in the comments already because i couldnt find it!
Is the shampoo and conditioner frizz proof? Because i have some frizz when im using normal shampoo. If it helps for that as well i will buy and try out the brand. thanxs!
This definitely works for me with the frizz! I also find that putting my hair up in velcro rollers (sounds ironic, I know) helps with the frizz and makes my hair softer
thnxs for your reply! I will try the Moroccan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner im really happy to find a new brand hopefully it works great with my hair as well! I checked them out on youtube and I was really amazed on all the products they are having.
Hi Marlena,
I have dark coloured dyed hair and I’m starting to get really bad re-growths so I’m looking into buying a new hair dye. Just wondering if the dye you use have any red in it? Most dark brown/brown hair dyes usually have alot of red in it but there are ones that dont. Could you please reply asap, would be very appreciated. I really like how you hair color looks but I just cant see if it has alot of red tones too . Thank you
This one for me doesn’t have any red in it as it’s a cool brown, but there may be a chance that when it fades it can get a little reddish, but by that time, I dye again as it’s mostly washed out
Hi Marlena,
Your hair really looks so healthy and so beautiful! I’m so proud of you living so healthy and help us out with losing weight. I’m trying to lose some weight too. It has been a strugle for me. I’m losing weight now over the past 3 years and I’ve lost about 30 pounds allready. But i still have to lose about 12 pounds. It is so difficult….but when I see you it gives me more power to go on. You’re amazing and so sweet. Keep up doing what you do and I wish you all the best. I love to see your vids and your so cute! Thank you for everything. And oooh I have not worked out when I was losing weight. Sinds I’ve seen your losing weight vid, I been working out! Me! Going out side and run like crazy…hiehie…not like crazy..lol. I have a training schedule for walking and running. It works amazingly! I’m losing weight more easily now. It’s a wonder! How many times do you work out every week?
Lot’s of love from Holland, Loyoya. xxx
Thank you for this tips & ideas! I want have beautiful hair like you Marlena.
And european names are really good, haha.
Btw.I don’t know why,but your name sounds like from Europe or something
thanks for all your videos marlena! my make up has improved so much thanks to your tips. keep up the good work
and hey, you look gorgeous
I would love to try that shampoo but is really expensive to me… Can you recomend a cheaper alternative? And how many vitamin E pills do you drink per day? I just saw you wokout 5 days per week, how many hours? And thanks for the vid! You look even more gorgeous lately, keep doing this great job and Im glad youre back again, I was missing you and Im sure all your fans too!
Hey girl!
You look amazing! You should be so proud. Would you please do a fashion/weight loss video? You came so far from your last weight lost video and you’re fasion tips are great! What salon do you usually get your hair done at? Thanks!
Marlena,
i don`t think that is a good ideia to recomend vitamins. They are medicins besides medicins, and have others side effects besides make your hair grow. And excess of vitamins can become a health problem to some people.
Julia
Marlena can you please do a review on the new primers that have just started to come out, such as Covergirl and Olay’s Serum Primer and L’oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base. I’m so happy that drugstore brands are finaly coming out with inexpensive alternatives to primers but I need to know if they’re any good and comparable to my $50 ones before I buy them!
hey Marlena! right now my hair is about shoulder length and I want to try and grow it out. throughout the time you grew out your hair, did you just let it go or did you get it trimmed regularly? Thanks for the video!!!!!
Hey Marlena!
Thanks for this video, i totally love your hair!
And you always make me smile, cause you’re so happy in your videos and your laughter is so beautiful!!
<3 Your really pretty too! Stay healthy,
Greetings from Finland!
Hey, i was wondering if prenatal vitamins have iron in them. . Can anyone answer this?
There are over the counter pre-natal vitamins in most drugstores, I would check the bottle, and if that doesnt work ask the pharmacist at the counter. my Dr. prescribed a separate iron suppliment for me when I was pregnant but it was because I was a little anemic.
yes most prenatal vitamins have iron in them but be careful you can easily od on iron so watch your daliy intake.
Hey Marlena!
I’m from Portugal and I love love love your tutorials. I’ve tried some of your advice and it worked very well. The gel eyeliner, for instance, best ever to apply. I’m always looking forward for some new tutorials of yours. Congrats, good luck, best wishes, kiss;-)

i have curly and wavy hair. It is puffy, dry, damaged. And it gets really frizzy and curly even with a little bit of huminidty. will it work for my hair too? and can you avise on the brand of hair damage protecting creams to use before i blow dre, curl…?
My mom said that taking prenatal vitamins does indeed make your hair grow, but also makes hair grow fast on your face, armpits, arms, legs ETC and awkward places really fast and thick, is this true? Im only 15 so im just trying to be precausious, thanks! and which brand of prenatal vitamins do you take?
Oh and what specific brand of vitamin E do you take? Thanks

I LOVE MOROCCAN OIL HAIR PRODUCTS!!!! CHANGED MY LIFE!!!
Hi Marlena, I recently came across this website of urs…I can’t believe I missed this site all this while!!
Its so damn good & the videos are all very helpful…BTW u look extremely gorgeous:))
Keep this great work of urs going!!
BTW, I am Indian & we are not that much into make up & too many products on the skin. But I really would like to know more about styling ur hair..I have seen a past video of urs where u talk abt ur hair cut & how u style it after ur wash. But I guess that was when u had short hair..now that u have long gorgeous hair, which I personally like..It will be really great if you can talk more about hair products, diff styling techniques..n things like that.
Thanks again for all ur wonderful tips & videos
Marlena,
Your hair looks so gorgeous! I am really loving the darker hair on you! Thanks for this video and you REALLY have me wanting to try the MoroccanOil products now! Lol.
I started using Proclaim Argan Oil Intense Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner from Sally’s Beauty Supply, I suppose it is a Moroccan Oil rip off. This stuff works great on my hair. It is softer, shinier and easier to style now that I have been using it. It is $6.99 a bottle.
Marlena,
I have an idea for you now that you have that long gorgeous dark mane. Pricillia Presley! You could do a hair and makeup video. She was stunning in her day when she married Elvis!I think that would be an awesome look that should come back!Just and idea for a fun video!
Hey Marlena!
I recently just started to watch your videos and I immediately subscribed. I was watching this last video of yours and I couldn’t help but noticing that your skin looks amazing!! So I was wondering if along with this hair care routine video you could maybe do a skin care routine video?? Much appreciated!!
Do you do seminars? I live in Michigan (Detroit Metro area) as well and would love if you would do an instructional seminar. I know quite a few people that would join me because not only are your looks flawless and beautiful, you are a great teacher.
Hey Marlena,
Love your work! And love all your little side contributions <3
On the topic of water : try not to drink water from plastic bottles as they contain pthalates which are chemicals caused from the plastic – which are cancer causing. Why not get a filter at home and enjoy clean water that way – much more economical in the long run.
Just thought I'd share this info with you as you are super healthy and interested in all things health-related.
Love
Kelly
i sooooo had no idea you could use that mac product on your hair….i have had a full bottel of that product for like a year already but since i havent had time to be putting on makeup everyday its just been sitting but now ill start using it for my har……..cool deal! Thx!

Marlena, great tips! Thank you.
I’ve noticed your ring:) (I’m sure so many people did .)
Oh, I really hope you are happy and content.

Marlena.. is all of it your hair or are there some extentions??? I am a resident in the dermatology dep. and it seems hard to grasp the idea that hair can gro from that to this in only a year!

Hi Marlena!! I tried emailing you from the contact link, but there isn’t a send button or anything do I was just wondering how to send it to you. Thanks so much for the tutorial!!!

Hi Marlena!!!
Thank you so much for all your videos!!!! I really start using the BAG of my cosmetics that I did not know how to use before!!!
For the shiny hair try also use a coconut oil. I bought in Vitamin shop for $6 big bottle. Apply just a little on dry hair. It will shine!!! Also use coconut on your skin, it will make it softer, but mot oily.
Also, I have a picture of a young woman whose make I love love love, is it possible to send it to you, and, may be, you will show us how to repeat it?
Many thanks!!!
PS Sorry for mistakes, English is not my native language

Hi Marlena,
What are organic shampoos? Are they better then regular shampoos?
which organic shampoo is the best one for fine and dry hair?
Hello Marlena!Im glad You Staying Gorgeous and Healthy..I can’t tell You How much I LOVE The Moroccan Shampoo and Conditioner,Since I have Frizzy Curly Hair It makes Such a Big Difference, and The Oil Makes The Hair Glow and Look Sooo Healthy, ans Smells Divine!Everyone always Asks me “What Perfume do you Use lol” Im like”No It’s My Shampoo hehe..I get it Through My Hair Stylist,Here in Ventura California,I Love Love Love it!!!=) Thanks For all The Great Advice, and Keep Up the Good Work!
Do you wear hair extensions?
Instead of the Morracan Hair Oil I have been using somethign very similar. It’s called Argan Hair Oil, which is also a Morracan Oil. The only place that has it is Sally’s Beauty Supply and it is only $9!! It actually works better then the more expensive Morracan oils. I have hair extensions mixed in with my hair and couldn’t really find any hair products that kept my hair looking shiny and smooth all day long until this came along. My hairdresser only uses this Argan Oil on my hair! I use it before I flat iron but also when I get out of the shower and my hair is wet. I just put a little in before blow drying and it comes out so smooth and shiny! I love, love, love this product!!
HI
I was looking through the comments to see if my question was answer but I guess not.
I was wondering what tools I should have for my hair. For Christmas I got a straightening iron that
is also a curling iron. I didnt try it out yet because I dont want to damage my hair. I want to
straighten ( Is that spelled right? ) my hair and I just want to know what the best solution is. Is
your hair naturally straight. If not what do you do.
~Randi
Another great shampoo to us is Loreal’s sulfate free EverPure line. They have all different kinds, I love the moisture one. This line makes your hair so soft and smooth plus it is safe for anyone that has hair extentions or has color treated hair because it is sulfate free!!
hey marlena and other makeup geeks. there’s a slight problem with my hair!
whenever it gets wet like in the shower or if i go swimming or even if its just humid, my hair gets insanely nappy and curly. and with school coming up i usually shower 4 times a week, but when i get ready in the morning i don’t have time to flat iron my curly hair.
and i’m trying to grow my hair out too. so i don’t like putting heat on it either because it breaks my hair off. when its summer i can just leave my hair curly because usually people don’t see me as much as they do when i’m in school. but now that school’s starting i need a way to tame my curls so that i don’t have to flat iron my hair everyday. please help me that would be amazing!
-gracie
Hi Marlena
For my hair I use Silky Sexy Hair and I want my hair to be healthy and shiny like yours do you think that Shampoo will do that for me!

Hi!
I adore your hair color and I want to try but the healthy look I’d iced chocolate brown 4ar and the one on amazon is dark chocolate brown 4ar and a different box. Are they the same ?
Hi Marlena!
I personally am in the process of laser hair removal on my upper lip (have been for two years now!) so I’m not allowed to take any vitamin tablets. Any particular food products you’d reccommend for the hair?
Ok, Marlena don’t laugh but I went out and purchased the chocolate brown and the egyptain plum from clairol… how do I mix these items together.. do I do them in the same bowl or just used half of the plum? Never have I used two different brands in my hair! So this should be exciting.. just don’t want it to turn out to plum. Please let me know hun, natalie
Hey Marlena
I have jet black Indian hair. I’ve never died my hair but I’ve always want to try maybe a pretty deep red/chestnut color. Will the product you’ve been using work on my hair color? I don’t want to bleach my hair or anything, its something I’ve been trying to steer far far away from, but I would love a change.
well.. i have a biig problem.. i live in mexico i those products are not sold here… isnt there any other products cheaper and that we can find them everywhere?… o … and i do my hair every day.. so its really not healthy any more… what can i do for it to look great again…?.. o and can u please!!!! send 2 my e-mail.. a video or something that can show me step by step how 2 makeup myself like natural but cute… and show me the things that u use 4 it…. Hello beautiful
… I just have a question for you. If my hair is pretty dry and frizzy do you think the marocan shampoo wud also be good?
Thank you for all the hard work you do and for sharing it with us
LOOVE YOU !!
Hey Marlena
I can never keep my hair straight, because i am naturally curly, after a while when i am out and about it tends to start poofing out and becomes curvy, do you have any advice as to how to keep it straight? i have tried all kinds of techniques but nothing is working!!
Love your tutorials really helpful.
Hello Marlena, I’m currently 15, This has nothing to do with this video but have you ever tired Bare Essentials?? I use their Foundation and it feels weightless! It dosen’t show your pores, it hides belmishes & the best bit I use it everyday and my 1 little pot has lasted me 9 months! Also have you ever tried any No7 products?? They are really good. Some other good things are; Barry M, TeaTree lotions (Brilliant for getting rid of spots!), I would also just like to say that you are amazing! I watch all your videos & I must day your eyeliner video (on how to apply it) was brilliant for my younger cousin who as she is going up to Secondary School wanted a little more than concelear, foundation & mascara. Thank you so much. You are truely the most wicked person ever! xXx
.P.S. Could you add products in that I can buy in England (where I live). Thank you sooo much.
My hair is like a dark brown.
Do you thinnk it would change my hair at all if I used that hair dye thaat you use?
Thanks.
Hi marlena,
At sallys they have made a generic version of moroccon oil, by proclaim thats called proclaim argan oil, even the packing is the same.
i was wondering if u know anything about it and if its any good. there are a lot of good reviews about this product and it cost fraction of the price. 16 oz bottle is for 6$.
i love messing with my hair
hi ,marlena… when you will show us about your skin care routine…hope to see soon..:)
Hi!
) but these shampoos and conditioners are a miracle! I use Hesh Shikakai Shampoo and Khadi Shikakai Honey Conditioner. There is a variety of hair oils, they might be good for your thick brown hair, I’m a blonde so they’re simply too heavy for me.
I would also recommend you Indian hair care products. I’m far from being Indian myslef (eastern Europe
Thanks!
Hi Marlena,
Actually i want to know about the vitamin E name which is recommended by u in this video.
Hey marlena! I found the moroccan oil like for 11 dollars each! I am obviously getting it from a beauty supply store but 11 dollars is defitly worth it!
Hi Marlena,
First of all i love your website and everything on it
I’m writing because i belive you have been misinformed. It is not healthy to drink 4 liters of water a day, as you claim to do. What happens is that the kidneys, who are the part of the body that ‘process’ the fluids in the body gets ‘overloaded’. if you continue to drink heavy amounts of fluid for a long period of time you risk kidney failure. another unluky effect of drinking to much water is that because there is such a heavy flow of fluids through your body, the body doesn’t have time to absorb all the nutrients and vitamins which are just washed throug the system.
the body needs about 3 liters of fluid a day, and you get about 1 1/2 of this throug your food. this means that you only need to drink about 1 1/2 liters of water a day. of course if your sick or if you are sweating more then usual you need to drink a little bit more, but the body should regulate this itself by making you feel more thirsty.
i understand if you feel sceptical about this information, since all the medias and magasines are saying otherwise, but for some reason it is a common misassumption. you should ask your doctor. if he/she is well educated he/she should be able to confirm that what i’m saying is true. otherwise do some resaerch on the internet, but stay off the magasine-websites and stick to scientific papers.
sorry if i come of as a bit of a know-it-all, but since you are a rolemodel for a lot of girls on this website and on youtube i feel it’s important to rectefy this common mistake.
lots of love and respect.
Marie
Hi Marie,
I actually would like to counter your argument. It’s actually not about how MUCH water you drink, but how FAST you drink. The kidneys of a healthy adult can process up to 15 liters a day. As long as you drink over a period of time as opposed to consuming a later amount of water all at once. Water intoxication occurs when the amount of water consumed exceeds what the kidneys can process over a period of an hour. When a person drinks too much water in a short period of time, the kidneys cannot flush it out fast enough and the blood becomes waterlogged. If someone were to experience nausea, vomiting, an altered mental state, headaches, muscle weakness, or convulsion, they should seek immediate care from a doctor or hospital. Otherwise water intoxication is rather rare in healthy adults.
Hi, marlena…luv ur vids. I have a prob, im from malaysia and i can’t get the Moroccan Oil line here. Anyway, i don’t think i can afford it = P. I have long hair, super frizzy and curly. I feel like im gonna go crazy trying to defrizz my hair.
Are there any other cheaper alternatives (for the Moroccan Oil) that i can use?
thanx = )
