I I am a new MUG and I’ve been enjoying your videos for the past 4 mths and have learned so many things from you, I love your personality and the way you make every bit of information CRYSTAL CLEAR . Keep up the tremendously good job that you are doing and I wish nothing but good things to come your way.

I love how you are a natural teacher. You have the best information and tutorials and the way you come off is in a positive manner. You arent snobby or showy. You just make makeup seem fun and creative. Even your personality helps me feel better when I am stressed out. I just wanted to thank you for continuing to put out videos that are helpful and relevant. I came into makeup late at 28 years old.. i’m 29 now & I still feel like a newbie so I always appreciate your videos… and one more thing.. I love the music you use. I don’t have to worry if my 8 year old daughter watches because its not “hoochies in da club” like most other videos. Thank you.. I can tell you really care about what you do and I appreciate it! <3, Nicole

Great vid!!! This may be a silly question, but i was wondering why matte pigments won’t foil?? I have a few mattes and I don’t usually foil them, but I was just wondering because I keep hearing that foiling them won’t work.

I’ll see if I can answer the questions :D

NYX pigments will work with the foiling :) They actually look better foiled…

You can use any eyedrops from any place- mine is a generic brand from Target ;)

Matte pigments won’t foil as they are really dry, and when you wet them, they just turn cakey…. Your best bet to getting them to show up is to pack them over a similar color base

    Have a great weekend everyone!!

Just a question… I would like to know if it is possible to put something on top of a foiled pigment.
I tried to do a smoky eye with a foiled glitter black pigment and it doesn’t blend really well… Moreover I add an other dried pigment just by gently tapping and the foiled colour gets off!!!
Do you have any trick for me (I used physiological saline to foil)?

    Thanks. A French fan!

You can also make your own fluid to foil. Use one part glycerine and 3 parts water. For example: 1 tsp of glycerine and 3 tsp of water. If you use distilled water it will not grow bacteria as fast. You can pick up up glycerine at any drug store. Just ask the pharmacist.

Thank you for all of your great tutorials. Wow, I just spent hours learning between your site and Nicole’s. Do you think you would video your live seminar to share with all on the web? Or do a webinar on your techniques? I would love to learn more. Also, any looks for younger crowd who may be looking for a quick before school fresh look? Thanks for your help!

I am new, thanks for all the wonderful vids! I had a makeover done at Sephora once and they didn’t do foil but they used a pressed shadow, scratched it with a bare mascara brush and mixed the powder with eye primer (too faced shadow insurance works best) and applied it with fingertips to the lid. It made the pigments 10X brighter and the primer makes it so the shadow lasted for 2 days without smudging or creasing. So you can do that instead of foiling for matte pigments, or pressed shadows. If you want to blend colors with the base you use the same shadow in powder from on top and then blend with the next color.

thanks for the tip Marlena! i have those loose eyeshadows but i don’t know where to buy the mixing mediums that other videos i have watched before kept on mentioning, great thing you suggested to use eyedrops instead. you were so right about the water making loose eyeshadows crumbly! haha!
