I absolutely love this look. Can you recommend a good “pink” lipstick for medium tone skin?
I’m really loving MAC’s Pink Noveau right now
I love love love that lipstic Marlena and yes I and like a medium tone skin and it goes perfectly….so Hemina i really recommended absolutely!
This is really gorgeous, for a bride or really I would wear this for work and even going out. Thank you Marlena, for doing such great work!
Lovely Lovely Lovely Marlena!! You look so beautiful and this look is gorgeous! I think it’s my favorite bridal look you’ve ever done
So gorgeous
Do you know of a dupe for ‘Gypsy’ by the way?
~Jazzmin
Not sure exactly which one, but you’re looking for a deep brownish/purple color- anything shimmery and dark would be pretty
Thanks Marlena!!
srry, I know NYX is already somewhat inexpensive, but by dupe I just meant a drugstore brand dupe.
thanks!!
Jazzmin, NYX IS a drugstore dupe. It doesn’t get much cheaper.
oh. it isn’t at my drugstore.
check out Milani they have great dupes and the color payoff is comparable. NYX is found at Ulta, so technically it’s not drugstore but not completely intangible.
U can find nyx @ ulta
You look gorgeous.
Wow. If I was getting married (fingers crossed!) this is the look I would go for. It’s beautiful and classy but still looks like you have makeup on. I’m not a fan of the super natural look so this is perfect. I was wondering if you would change the colours on the eyes for someone with blue eyes or do it just the same.
Thanks Marlena for a really pretty look.
I would do this the same but maybe use a dark bronze color on the lid
Sounds perfect. I’m going to practice it. Thanks!
I’m in a wedding coming up shortly… i LOVE this eye color. All of us bridesmaids are wearing a deep red dress. would u change the lip color to something different or keep it the same?
I would keep this the same- you could do a red lip but it may be a bit much with a red dress, so keeping a light pink color on the lips is a nice balance
So pretty! Would you recommend setting it with something? I’ve heard “Model in a Bottle” is good?
I use Model in a Bottle on my clients
Stunning! Are these self portraits or did someone else use the camera? Very beautiful job…..
Nicola took these for me
very pretty..
I want to know if you have had the lasik surgery like you said a while ago
if you got it, please share your journey with us that it will help a lot of people out there like me
thanks!!
I did have it over a year ago and don’t regret a day of it
I still have 20/20 vision!
I absolutely love this look! I feel like the look of this “generation” has to be the bronzy/brown smokey eye. It’s just so versitile and looks amazing on everyone! Beautiful look
~Beatrice @ cosmeticconvulsion.blogspot.com
this is fantastic! i’ve been doing bridal looks as well on my blog. May have to try this one out!! What could I use instead of the brown paint pot? Can I just use a brown shadow?
yep! The brown paint pot just enhances the color underneath
Marlena,
I really need to know how to get you to respond to a few questions and I am not sure how to get you to reply! I have posted several commments and maybe I need to go to another page to get an answer. I know there is no way you can respond to all of our needs/questions but I really would like to chat. I am a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner and so not only do I have to feel like my makeup looks good, but people are always asking what I recommend. I refer them to you website but they have ask the same questions about how to get specifcs. Is there another site whre you are able to chat. My practice does not sell ay lines, so I can recommend any.
Please help!
Barbara
Hi Barbara! What questions did you have specifically?
Amazing! The great thing about this look, is that you could basically wear it anywhere <3 Bobbie Brown is the best for Gel Liners! So pretty! xo
Sooo pretty! I love the eyeshadow, I’m definitely gonna try this look for Saturday. 8D Do anyone know where to get the Mug Outer V brush? It seems like a neat little brush.
the MUG brush is the Makeup Geek one- it’s in our store
http://www.makeupgeek.com/store
i love this tutorial ..you are so beautiful ..
thank you SO much for that sweet comment! I appreciate it
U look beautiful!!!
GORGEOUS! I wish you could have done Kate Middleton’s makeup – she looked stunning, but not as good as this!
If I were to wear purple eyeshadows, what would be a good lipstick color and blush? My skin tone is tan. Help please…
:Hi Marlena
You are looking so beautiful like always!!! I have a questuon i been meaning to ask you what methods you use to tan??????????????????????????
can you recommend some cheap alternatives for the armani highlighter you used?? i love highlighters but they are usually pricey..any recommendations would be appreciated! thanks love your channel
check out benefit’s high beam
absolutely gorgeous marlena, I will try this look for my nephews christening tomorrow. can’t wait! Did you use photoshop on some of the shots you took with your camera? xo
WOW!!! you look amazing thanks for this video
No words!! U r such a talent!!!! Gorgeous ….. I just cant stop watching ur vids. I love them all!
Hi Marlena,
I’ve been doing wedding makeup for friends and family as a hobby for quite some time now and after receiving lots of great feedback I have decide to start out as a freelance MUA. Are you able to do a tutorial on foundations in a makeup kit specifically for MUA’ s starting out like myself? Preferably on MAC foundations. I know there are so many shades and I possibly can’t buy every single colour as it’ll cost a fortune. But maybe an idea of how many foundations should I have in a kit that is both NW & NC. I just want to know what numbering I should buy that can make a shade lighter or darker depending on a clients skin tone. My main clientele are of asian & caucasian background. Your help would be much appreciated!!
Hi Marlena,
I don’t know why but your videos aren’t working in Germany again
Click the Mirror above the video to view it in another format!
Can´t watch it either! It´s because she used music in the vid. Gema (a legally authorized collecting society in germany) wants that Youtube pays more than they already do. I guess the Negotiations between YouTube and GEMA have broken down….. So wachting videos on youtube is russian roulette for use germans now.
Hi,Marlena.I love your tutorials.I need your help. Two questions for you:
1. what is your favorite black gel eyeliner now?
2.I’m Mac NW 20/25. Is it medium tone skin?
THANK YOU
My eyelids are really oily. hat is the best primer for oily eye lids?
Also, I have oily skin and Marlena has said before that for oily skin mineral foundation is good. But when I put on mineral foundation (Bare Escentuals) my skins looks too shiny. Am I doing something wrong?
Bare Escentuals now makes a matte finish mineral foundation. I have an oily t-zone and would have the same problem with shine using the original formula. I’m liking the matte finish so far… I still get a little bit of shine after a few hours but nothing like before. I hope this helps.
Hi Marlena
You look beautiful
Thanks for this tutorial; I think it’s a great modern and less dramatic alternative to the indian bridal look too. I love the lipstick you used, lovely colour, but do you know if it lasts long enough ?
Also i’ve been meaning to ask you if you know a dupe for the Gold mode pigment from Mac, i’m looking for a gold base for my bridal make up, but i want a gold that’s not too yellow, or pink, or green or brown..
It’s a lucky man that meets a bride this beautiful at the altar!
Hello Marlena!
I just found your website this past week and haven’t been able to stay away! I think I have watched almost all your videos and have been reading all the articles. I wanted to say thank you. I have learned soooo much. You make it very easy to learn and I now see what I have been doing wrong with my make-up for many years. I made a list of some of your favorites and went on my first shopping trip to Sephora the other day. OMG…I am addicted already. Will be ordering from your store soon. It’s very hard trying to decide what to buy first because I just want it all!! Thanks again for everything that you do. From now on when I go out or to a party or wedding, I will feel confident that people will be talking about how GORGEOUS my make-up is instead of talking about how bad my make-up looks!! And that makes me feel GREAT!!
Thank you
Signed,
One More Make Up Geek!!
hi marlena:
as i mentioned in “dramatic wedding makeup ” it takes courage and be professional like you to apply makeup in dark snads on bridal
i also loved the incxpensive alternatives
and i have a request to you Can you specify what colors will be matched medium to dark skin?
Waiting for your reply and for the next tutorial *:-)
Golds mostly. This makes the eye pop and gives that bit of shimmer
Hi Marlena,
Love the tutorial. Just stunning. Thank you again for another gorgeous look. Will you be doing any more soft drink or candy inspired tutorials? I really enjoyed those.
Thank you
Wow this is just perfect Im going out with my hubby on monday for aniversary so im absolutly wear that makeup thanks alot

hi marlena!
just wondering, how did you get your natural lashes so long??!! they look absolutely beautiful! do you use a lash serum or something? and i love your videos btw! love from singapore ^^
i going to wear this look on my wedding my wedding it 2 weeks cant wait
Hi Marlena! Could you please tell me which brush did you use for blush? thanksss
this bridal make up is better than the other one. but i want it more glamouros, maybe arabic wedding make up or somethiing with glitter, that would be nice, if you would do a tutorial of this side. and i want to say to you, A BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU for all that u do for us. iam sure that much girls have learned lots of tips and tricks of you. Thanks Marlena
Hi,
Love ur tutorials!! I wanted to know what eye primer u feel is the best. It doesn’t matter how much it costs.
The Urban Decay Primer Potion is #1!
Thanks!
You got to do a tutorial on Princess Catherine’s wedding day look. I think its so cool that she did her own make-up.
I like your hair style very much, could you please tell us how can we set it?
I love this look, Marlena is such a talent!
But please go easy on the photoshopping, the pictures have been a bit too airbrushed lately.
hey marlena!! this is a beautiful bridal look. i have a question though…when you’re applying makeup on someone or yourself when do you do your eyebrows, before or after your eye makeup?
Love this even for a night out. What do you think would be comparable colors from the UD naked palette? Don’t think there is a similar gold color… but maybe the brown?
Marlena, did u look soooo pretty at ur own wedding???
Hey Marlena,
Just wanted to comment think you are fantastic at the art of makeup, and just had a question or if you can do a tutorial on how to apply shadow on individuals with heavy eyelids or some call them “hooded”eyelids. I feel that some of the tutorials when done on eyelids that are slightly heavy or “hooded do not have the same results and at time the results are not as desired. So please, please could you help me find a solution! thankssss
Hi,
I saw that you wanted a tutorial for hooded eyes and I remembered that Marlena did one a while ago so here is the link for you.
http://www.makeupgeek.com/tutorials/makeup-for-hooded-eyes/
If you search the MUG site you can usually find what you’re looking for.
Hope that helps.
Christy
you make a BEAUTIFUL AND STUNNING bride. Who’s gona be the lucky guy?
This is so cool, i’m gonna try and find similar colors to what you used hehe, college student i can’t quite afford mac.
I’m gonna wear this tomorrow when i go shopping at sephora
Hi Marlena
Thank you so much for all the great thing you do, for all the great tutorial. I really love what you do. You look amazing. I saw a video on you tube and I love to know how to do the make up. if you type
AySel & Arash – Always on you tube you can see the make up can you please show me how to do that make up ( the one that is glittery) thank you.
Hi, I’m a fan of yours from Puerto Rico. You’re the best!! I would like to share that product or treatment to your lashes are you wearing? They are wonderful from a few months ago, its is super dramatic change to how you had before in your videos. Very successful and continues with your great videos … Mailyn
ohhhhhhh es fantastico y muy favorecedor. Me encanta. Claro que si yo tuviera los mismos ojos que tu seguro que también me quedaba bien. Cuando te maquillas lo haces tan fácil……. Un kiss.
**Hey Marlena,
Just wanted to say i think we all appreciate all the help you give us….sometimes i think im a little make up obsessed due to wanting to change my look all the time!!:)
P.S-you make a beautiful bride!!

Marlena this is absolutely gorgeous, you look so flawless! If I was getting married this is definitely a look that I would want. By the way, your hair looks amazing, would you be willing to do a hair tutorial for this look?
Well done, amazing work yet again
Hey Marlena!
Awesome job!! You look beautiful as always. I have a question though. I am attending a banquet for my sorority and my dress is black, white, blue, and green. I know it sounds a little much but it’s a bunch of flowers. What kind of look do you think would be best? I have brown eyes and light to medium skin. Thanks for everything!!!
Erika
You may want to choose one color to be your base color, then use another as a highlight or a swipe of color in the crease. Use false lashes to dress it up and I would say a Pink lip would be glam! Finish with lipgloss!!
I just discovered your site and I am loving it! Being absolutely clueless when it comes to doing my own makeup I definitely feel more confident when attempting to do more dramatic eyes! Thank you for being so helpful!
Hi marlena.
im just going my level 3 in college in beauty and i love it…. I just think your the best at make up and i love learning from you!! just want to ask how would you apply make to an older client “with out botox ect” thank from Debz in Ireland x x x x x:)
Hi Marlena, is there any way to watch the video here in Germany, because for us german subscribers it seems to be blocked. Maybe because of some music included. This happens in every second video of your tutorials to us, and it really sucks
(
Hi Marlena!
I was just wondering if this look is recommendable for someone with large eyes.. or popping eyes?? Thank you so much!
I went out and bought the NYX alternatives for this look, and I was wondering what the Jumbo eye pencil is for? I bought it because you said so, and I’m just wondering what to use it in place of. Thanks!
Hey Marlena, thank you for making a video about the bronzer, but I would really appreciate if you made ??a new video on how to shade a face with pose and negative shades. because I think I speak for many when I say that not everyone has a perfect face and especially I have a bit bigger cheek and don’t find what face shape I have and what products to use.
would be very grateful for an answer / a girl from Sweden
Beautiful! It’s seems also like a nice everyday look
