Fabulous! ETA on MUG lipstick?
Umm sorry, missed Marlena advising that lipsticks will be available next month. I was watching tutorial on mute, I had a baby napping.
They’re taking a bit longer than expected — we’re still putting the final touches on artwork and then it takes another month to get the printing done… eh.
Yeaaaah!
Great dramatic look Marlena and the lips are so gorgeously soft, can’t wait for that lipstick to come out… congratulations on creating your own line of makeup, it must be a fantastic feeling to have accomplished this, well done and looking forward to receiving my pending order!

Hey Marlena, LOVE the look! I have a girly night coming up and I’m definitely going to pull this look out of the bag for it! Just a quick question though, you mentioned that you had recently had a spray tan done and I struggle to find the right tan for me – but yours looks so natural. What brand did you use and if it’s not available in the UK have you tried anything similar with the same great results? Thanks chick!
For german viewers too, please! <3 smoky eyes
Hi Marlena, I really liked your video thanks do much. I just had a quick question I really like the how the Mac refined golden looks on you but is it a shimmery bronzer? Just wondering because it doesn’t look shimmery at all on you? Well anyway I’m a big fan of yours and addicted to makeup geek store!!:D keep doing a great job!!& thanks for all your hard work!
what is your favorite makeup remover/cleanser? i would love to be able to wear a full face foundation every day too, but i dont have a good cleanser or remover.
thanks, love the site!
Beautiful!
i was wondering if the armani fluid will look good on african american skin or its more for a lighter complexion
You look so beautiful! I loved the video and I can’t wait to try it.
I don’t have words to explain how much I admire u and ur work,I wish I can meet u,love u,you r the best.
I love your videos..randomly watched one on youtube and i have to say I’m hooked. I recently just started my love for makeup and you mamma’ are truely an inspiration!! I can wait for payday, im voing to purchase some of your eyeshadows!!
Thank you and god bless from the humble Wyoming cowgirl
Hi Marlena, Love this look. Do you have any inexpensive alternatives for the products you used on your face? Thanks!
Marlena! i found you on youtube about 2 yrs ago now and i thought you were gorgeous and talented. I’ve gotten busy and dont check in like i use to but OMG you are so so gorgeous and look amazing in this smokey eye look. totally gorgeous! you go girl with your bad ass self
I did this look with brown instead of black and it still looks great. Used coca brown.
Another great tutorial, thanks so much for doing this one.
Awwwwww!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making something that has intimidated me for a long time so simple.
I bought Unexpected, but hadn’t really found a good way to use it until now. I have very fair skin, and it showed up as a very flattering greyish purple when I tried this look. It is such a beautiful and versatile color. I plan on using it a lot.
Simply wonderful, thank you again! You rock!
Love it! Gorgoues as usual, thaaanx!
I love this look – it’s definitely dramatic but a go-to for a night out. I would pair it with a nude lip like MAC’s ‘Myth’. Great job!
Awesome !!! Thanks Marlena
Wow, you look fabulous
Hurting Fashion – The First Fashion Ad-Review The Hurting Fashion
i love this!
Marlena, do you think this would work on someone with fair skin and blonde hair/blue eyes or would it be too harsh? I also have hooded eyes so I’m not sure if I could pull this off or not.
I have similar coloring to yours and slightly hooded eyes, and I think it worked pretty good. I just didn’t go too far above the crease, and I skipped the step towards the end where she packed on more black eyeshadow. So it was pretty black along the lash line, but more of a grey once I smoked it up. The blending color for the crease (Unexpected in the video) will show up brighter on fair skin, so you can also play with that to brighten up or tone down the look. I also blended a lighter color over the black along the lower lash line so that it didn’t look as harsh, and I only went about halfway in.
Thanks!
Hi marlena!
I want to start making youtube videos,
im very inspired by you and I jus love your videos!
I wanted to know what kind of camera do you use?
the quality is absolutely amazing! Thanks in advance.
Hi marlena I just want to tell you that I love this makeup video you are great and also I need some tips about what kind of make up I can use? ?? I been using covergirl moose and maybellin foundation but I don’t really like the way it looks.
I like corrupt, but holy fallout!
Hi Marlena.
I have a question
Are the MUG shadows hypoallergenic?
Thanks
I can’t ever make looks like this work on my deepset eyes
I always end up looking like a racoon
Hi Aimee,
Your comment was funny but I have to confess that I feel the same way. Either I am not used to or it simply does not work right as with Marlena. I practice so much but still they don’t get even close to hers. It could probably be the color of my skin or the shape of my eyes. I don’t know ! However, I have to tell you. I ENJOY a loooooooot watching these videos. Maybe someday I get a little bit close !!
This is a wonderful update to an already wonderful tutorial. Thanks Marlena!!!
GREAT VIDEO.

Got my mug shadows. Holy black batman! Corrupt rocks. This is the black I’ve been looking for!
Once I saw this video, I had to order the MUG products! That black got me Marlena. As soon as I received the 3 shadows(shima shima, corupt, unexpected) I looked at the black, barely touched it and boom blackout! Lol love love it! Thanks Marlena!
Hey marlena! I wanted your opinion on marykay makeup, this is usualy what I use and I just wanted to know if you like it and if is better or worse then other makeup..
Hello Marlena !!
How I wished to have you here everyday so I could have the same make up and go to work so stunning !!
You are beautiful in any make up style. I watch and watch again all your videos and practice too. I am a big fan of your videos, tutorials, articles, everything on your website. I keep checking every day for new things. Keep up ! You are a blessed woman !

I would love to see, either in the video or in the notes thereafter, suggestions on other colour combinations for this look. You mentioned you could a lot of variations just by changing out something like the “unexpected” shadow. Some photos and product notes would help broaden the use of this look immensely.
Thanks you!
Love the video. What was the brush you used right after the 217? It looks duo fiber with a red handle and you applied vanilla bean with it. I love that shape! I’ve been looking for one that shape so I’d love to know what it was!

Your website, is the ONLY website that I go to when I need a new look or how to do things rights. For this look you used a few Mug products. What would be the subsitute for MAC products? Keep up the awesome job and I just LOVE your looks.

Hi Marlena – thank you for another amazing tutorial! I love having a smokey eye so the updated tutorial is really handy! Can I ask, when you wear false lashes, do you apply the mascara or the lashes first?

I absolutely love your tutorials. My problem is I have small almond shaped eyes and hooded as well. Is there any way you could put up a few more cute tutorials for hooded eyes or to make small eyes pop?
hello Marlena!
I had a question for you. Do you think you could do a video that talks about how to cover up blemishes with face make up. I know how to apply a basic layer of foundation, but I am not sure how to use my concealers to their max. Could you help me out? Thanks
Steph
Hi Marlena…..
First wanted to say I’m new to your site and think you are absolutely amazing! Second…when you talk about doing this look with purples, you said the dark purple would go on the outer corner for the “V” and then the medium color in the crease and then do you blend the lighter color into crease also above the medium purple, or use the lighter purple for the highlight? Also, what would you use on your lid? And if you use the lighter purple to blend in your crease, what would you use as a highlight? I just love this look and love purples so I’m dying to try it out:)
Marlena! I love the lipstick that you used. When is it going to be released or can you recommend a something similiar that I can pick up?
I am in love with this look! so dramatic, yet not over the top. I can’t wait to buy that lipstick either!
