I seen a candy today called 3 Muskateers Mint it has a really cool wrapper silver and green. Two of my favorite colors. But you look fabulous. Keep them coming.

Hey Marlena: I love this look on you. It’s very creative! As to the eyeshadow fallout on your cheeks, why don’t you pack on a thick layer of loose face powder underneath your eyes before you do your eye makeup? I wear alot of dark, smokey eye looks and what I do is I use NYC (not NYX) Translucent Loose Face Powder underneath my eyes and brush it (along with all the shadow fallout) away when I’m done. I get it at Walmart and it’s cheap, cheap, cheap! It’s about $3 a tin here in Canada and I always buy 2 or 3 of them at a time so that I won’t run out. It works great and it fluffs right off of my foundation without a problem. (BTW—I’ve been wearing Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation for over 10 years now and I set it with Benefit’s Get Even Face Powder! I love love love both of these products.) Anyway… keep up the great work… and keep making your tutorials!!

I love this look for summer, really fun party like look, I’m so glad to see you use the120 palette, you can pull off almost any look with it. I love my Manly palette so much I just bought another one, the contour palette.

This look is both weird and fabulous at the same time, a combination that I LOVEEE… Only you can do and pull something like this off… I have ordered my 120 palette off ebay, so I will definitely be doing this look… I have already got the 88 Shimmer palette, will this work?

I’m from the UK and I tried this look with the BarryM products, the colours looked FAB!!!… However, the BarryM yellow is not all that great, as it is difficult to get the colour to show up (so I just used the yellow in the 88 Shimmer palette instead)… Also, that purple underneath your eyes really suits you…

Hi there- I have a question/request. first I love your tutorials. However, being an African American woman a lot of colors you use are not going to have the same affect one me. In a lot of your tutorials you give substitutions for other skin tones. Maybe you could put some alternate colors on the side boards for alternate complexions. I need a color for a good paint pot. I am a naturally brown skinned female with red tones in my skin. I would be a mac foundation NC45.
I also need really good lip colors for me too. In addition I have one blush color- Love Rush by MAc. Would love some more options.

I second Taia. I am Indian and with a medium-deep olive complexion. I would use Benefit deep/ MUFE HD #173/Smashbox M4 foundation. I would LOVE it if you could post some alternatives for lip and some not-so-flattering-for-darker-skin eye colors etc.

I think that you seem have a SPECIAL knack for applying make up (Yes, those perfectly blended eye looks!) and a well practiced level of expertise that I can’t get enough of. As a woman of color I think that your selection of colors are suited to not only your fair complexion but to an NC 45/50 gal like myself LOL. I just wanted to add that in with my fellow sista “geek” that commented before. I know she feels like WE can’t quite pull off all of your colors but I just think that we have to use our imagination more and hopefully, in the future, I’d also love a little help with some suggestions
I also would LOVE an opinion on a MAC paint pot besides “Painterly” that would be appropriate for us brown-skinned ladies? I know MANY do use the MAC “Painterly” and the MAC “Soft Ochre” but, yeah, is a browner base exactly what is needed to base eye shadow? Is the purpose to make the shadow color “pop” when applied? Anybody feel free to answer this if Marlena doesn’t have time to weigh in. I just love this site!
