Review & Swatches: Illamasqua Morale Blush

What is it?

Morale is very pink blush with sorta cold (blueish?) shimmer, and some tiny golden sparkles.

They Describe it as:

Illuminate, radiate, make your face come alive with the colour and drama of Illamasqua Powder Blusher. Colour-intense and highly pigmented, use it to shade, brighten, enhance and define the shape of your face. Be bold, be daring, be the centre of attention.

“Rosed flush, shimmer finish”

Overall Opinion:

Unfortunately this is just not my color. I rarely use pink blushes, I’m more of a peachy blush user, and when I use pink, I want it to be matte.
So I can’t really tell if this is a good shade or not, I just know it’s not my shade :/
But what I can tell, is that it’s pigmented and quite easily blendable. Again my review is a bit weird, because there’s nothing wrong with the product, just the personal opinion of the color.
If you like pink shimmery blushes, I can suggest you’d give this one a try!

I have the same issue with Illamasqua blushes. I’ve purchased Beg and Tweak and neither color really works on me. The packaging, texture, finish and pigmentation have all been great, but the colors are just not flattering on me.

I usually enjoy your reviews very much, but I think this one is in error, and unfair to the product. I could understand if you gave a product a 3 out of 5 for being poor quality, but to downgrade it simply because you don’t wear pinks is not a proper review, in my opinion. Since you state that you can’t really tell whether it’s a good shade or not, you probably should have had someone else review it for fairness.

This is just my opinion, and I mean no disrespect. I love your website, shop, and support you fully.

Merry Christmas,
Rhonda

she’ll prolly find another use for it like on her clients or in her photo shoot for people. or give it away as gifts. That color would be good on crazy artistic makeup for halloween and such.. that’s what Illamasqua is for “your alter ego.” i find that shade to be very nice

I agree completely.
I feel like some products get “softened” ratings due to perhaps the brand name or personal preference for the brand. I wish there were more critical ratings with the technical performance and mileage/value of the product rather than personal preference.

This review is as confusing as that multicolor primer she did a few months ago.

Can you give a little more information other than telling us over and over that this isn’t your shade? I mean, how does it apply, how long does it last, etc? You had one little snippet that it’s blendable and pigmented and then the rest is just a complaint that it’s not YOUR color.

Honestly how did this review get through when it’s so choppy and unhelpful. Again, where are those website winners who would help here and give their reviews too. There was a girl with a darker skin tone like mine and I would love to see her reviews of colors for deeper skin tones but it seems like it’s the Jangsara show a little too much here. She has a steady hand and is talented, but come on…

While I think the review could have been more in depth…I think its completely rude to respond in such a way to it. If this review isn’t for you, I’m sure you could find 100’s more on google. I personally cross reference reviews for a product im considering buying to get the best possible idea of whether its right for me or not (as even the most unbiased people still carry some bias).

Also, I agree this might not be the most flattering shade on certain skin tones… but I have always understand Illamasqua to be the kind of company to release, edgy, artistic cosmetics that don’t always fit our understandings of “beauty.”

Come on , she said it was pigmented and blendable. She even gave a swatch of it with a heavy hand and with out. What more do you really want. You say you want her to not do a “personal” review of it. That’s just what these reviews are. If anyone is getting “personal” it sounds like some of you are with her as a person. Saying its the Jangsara show is just uncalled for. Its nice that Marlena lets other people take part on the site. English isn’t even Jangsara’s first language and she still tries to be helpful. It’s like G said if it means that much to you , Google it!

I haven’t tried this particular blush, but I have got Excite which is a really scary orange in the packaging but looks wonderful on my pale skin when applied lightly, it just looks healthy. It lasts for a really long time I have never had to reapply it. From playing with a few in store the blushers do seem difficult to get the right one but i would recommend trying as Excite is now my go to blush. Also I recommend people try the cream pigments that they produce.
