  1. Not so impressed Review by anja

I like the color, but it's not even close to the swatch real life it's about 5 shades lighter..the color itself is beautiful and very pigmented it's just simply not this color :(
It's actually a midtone purple with a grey undertonem it's almost a purple taupe, which is beautiful, but again..not the color you see here :) (Posted on 7/11/13)

  2. I really wanted to like this.. Review by Nicole

Out of all my MUG eyeshadows (over 40 now, lol) this is my least favorite. It translates as a muddy grey color, not really purple at all. Even in the pan it barely looks purple. It's just kind of blah, especially compared to all the other AMAZING MUG shadows, it makes it seem even blah-er. (Posted on 4/14/13)

  3. Had no problem! Review by MsAB

After some of the not so great reviews, I wasn't going to buy it but I liked the color online so much that I ordered anyway. And I'm so glad I did! I had no problem with pigmentation or blend-ability. I believe you have to use the right brush in order to pick up and apply the color nicely. I used hakuhodo crease brush if anyone wants to know. The color is true to picture here. I used Unexpected as blending color and the color combo worked harmoniously together. (Posted on 3/4/13)

  4. Good colour; not so sure of consistency Review by mrsmartin

I like the greyish - ness this colour has; it makes it more neutral, if that makes sense? Only downside is that it doesn't seem as smooth & creamy as the other mug shadows I've bought. (Posted on 11/25/12)

  5. Not sure what to think... Review by Marie-Joële

The colour pay off on this one is not so great... sad because it's a nice colour. I'm really into matte eye shadows... this one is not as good as all the other but I still find out ways to make it stand out. I've got 29 MUG shadows and love all the other ones... so it no big deal :) (Posted on 8/24/12)

  6. I wish.... Review by R

Purples are my favorite color and I do love the shade and that it's matte, but the pigmentation did not do anything for me. Compared to the other MUG eyeshadows, it was like there was nothing there on the crease as much as I tried to apply and I couldn't blend the little that was there. I will still try to use it different ways. I still love this brand. (Posted on 5/17/12)

  7. Purple Review by Kellie

I have been on a purple eyeshadow journey of late. Can't seem to get enough purple! I bought this as I was after a deep purple to blend through the crease/outter v. This does the job. I always use a primer before applying any eye product so longevity of the product wasn't a problem for me. I was quite happy with this shadow. (Posted on 5/17/12)

  8. Meh... Review by Megan

It's not as pigmented or soft as the other MUG shadows I picked up. I wish it was truer to comes off just darkish grey I'm still going to work with it and see what I can do. (Posted on 5/1/12)

  9. Beautiful! Review by Emma

I LOVE the color! (Posted on 3/30/12)

  10. Really dark Review by Mariana

It blends OK, but you need a big fluffy brush for great. (Posted on 3/7/12)

  11. Disappointing :( Review by Jazmin

I got this one in the starter kit, and I thought the pigmentation would be better!! I've used primers and the rest to try and help it along... but it just wears off instantly and when I try to blend it the colour just disappears. Not what I thought... (Posted on 2/22/12)

  12. Perfect natural purple Review by Jemith

I adore purple shadows and this one is my absolute favorite! I find that it applies somewhat lighter than it appears on the MUG swatch. It is a gorgeous shade, and it looks lovely and natural on my fair skin. It's my go-to color for when I'm in a hurry and only have time to slap on one shadow and run. It is neutral enough to blend nicely with a wide variety of other colors. Fairytale and Purple Rain look awesome together! (Posted on 2/1/12)

  13. Purple Haze (in a good way) Review by Leslie

I loved this color. It blended remarkably with everycolor I have tried it with. And with the color being between a purple and a grey, they combination are limitless. Looks like Jimi and Prince have some competition!!! (Posted on 1/26/12)

  14. Pretty but... Review by Crys

I actually thought this shade had high pigmentation. It swatched deep and dark. I did have primer and nyx pots and pans underneath. My issue was the opposite from other reviewers, I could not get this color to blend well or soften. I used this on the outer part of my lid. I used a small crease brush to make an outer v and in crease. It was so hard to blend the color was so strong I couldn't get it to move. I used many good quality brushes and it wouldn't soften. My lids actually hurt from all the rubbing and blending attempts. I had to go over it with other shades over and over and it still didn't look right. I don't know why I had problems. I came 2seconds away from washing it off and never using it again. Maybe I'll not use so much primer and base next time. I love every shade I have, 14, and this is my least favorite. I'll try again when I am not in a rush to go anywhere just in case.. I'm sad I really wanted to use this shade. (Posted on 1/21/12)

  15. Great dark purple/grey color!! Review by Stephanie86NL

Now this is a color I dont have in my collection yet!! It looks like a plain dark purple in the pan, but once applied it turns into a gorgeous greyish purple. Blends like a charm! However I do have to agree with savvychich88 on the pigmentation; its a bit sheer, but nothing a primer cant fix. This color is too gorgeous to pass up on!! (Posted on 1/11/12)

  16. Who knew eyeshadow so dark and deeply pigmented could blend so easily!? Review by Susan

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these eye shadows! They are so smooth and richly colored. They also blend like a dream! I'm not new to makeup, but I have shied away from dark shades because I'm very fair and conservative. I got this one, though, 'cuz I figured inwould use it as eye liner at least. Works GREAT as liner, but it blends so well I was also able to use it for shading and contouring. Just a touch of the brush was enough for me and it blended out effortlessly (without shadow primer) but I can tell by swatching it on my arm that it easily gives deep color payout if you want it. (Posted on 12/26/11)

  17. Not so great :( Review by savvychic88

I really wanted to love this color but the pigmentation just isn't what I expected it to be. I would skip this color and pick a difference shadow to purchase. I love all the other colors I have purchased so far! (Posted on 12/22/11)
