Nothing was ever as fun as prom night. The anticipation, the dress, the shoes, and of course the makeup. With hints of grey, this pale purple shade is flattering for every eye color, every skin tone, and the shimmery finish makes it perfect for any occasion. The rich pigmentation and velvet-like texture makes this an ideal shade regardless of where you are going. Pair it up with other neutral shades for a great day look or add deeper shadows for a great smokey eye for that special night.
The Bottom Line:
A pale purple with hints of grey and a shimmery finish.

Dammmn MUG Back at it Again! Im not sure what anyone is talking about as far as color pay off listen if the shadow is creme and buttery and has a sheen usually finger application works best and it also might be the brush your using as well because ugh im not complaining veryyyy nice sheenish metallic thing going on very flattering for all ranges of skin (Posted on 5/18/16)
Good Basic Taupe Review by Meghan
I recommend everyone have a taupe in their collection and this one is great. It is a little more stiff than other shadows from MUG btw (Posted on 12/15/15)
Excellent, beautiful Shadow Review by Meka
I bought 7 day wear shadows and this one is probably the best, it was beautiful, glamorous and very buttery/pigmented. I wear this as a wash with eyeliner and plenty of people told me it was a beautiful color.
This eye shadow looks good on me and my sister. I am fair so it does look a little "heavier" on me but it looks effortless on my sister who is a medium tone.
Primer is needed because it does crease but it doesn't require a base or anything to have great color pay off. Some touch up after 5-6 hrs to regain the intensity.
Would buy this shadow and recommended it! (Posted on 11/30/15)
Cool tone Review by Britt
Pretty shade, but I've found that for my Caucasian, yellow undertone skin, cool tones aren't the most flattering/wearable shades. This is a taupe-y/purple-ish. Light shade for all over lid. Comparable to homecoming in sheen and texture, just in a different color. (Posted on 10/20/15)
This is exactly what I wanted! Review by Joanne
This soft purple taupe color has just the right amount of shimmer to it. In my first order I chose Moonstone and it was not one of my favorites. On the other hand, I love Prom Night for my brown eyes! :) (Posted on 10/14/15)

prom queen Review by Inga
this is one of the first shadows that I got from MUG. the color is exactly like in the picture, it's smooth and just wonderful! I use it a lot for my lower lash line (just to add a little bit sultry taste to the look). this or Twilight. (Posted on 8/8/15)
Love it! Review by Kirstin
Use this almost daily. So smooth, blendable and last for hours. It's a Taupe/purple but not a true purple. Goes with basically any colour. (Posted on 6/16/15)

This is so amazing, I like to add MAC FIX +. (Posted on 6/10/15)

blendable, buttery, pigmented, metallic, purple-taupe?, one of my favorite MUG shadows. if contemplating, buy this one over moonstone. similar but like this much better. more wearable (Posted on 3/29/15)
Simply Gorgeous! Review by CHLOE
Love, love Prom Night! A taupe-y / medium purple.
For a quick makeup, put it all over the upper lid but not in the crease, it has very nice depth! Pair it with dark purple Drama Queen, and you have a gorgeous combo! (Posted on 3/16/15)
More taupe than purple-faint purple Review by Christine
Faint purple undertones...don't expect a true purple eyeshadow, which Is what I love about it! I will never buy MAC, urban decay, Nars, or even Makeup For Ever artist shadows again because these are by FAR the best eyeshadows in the industry. Buttery, easy to blend, stunning in color, lasts forever on the eye, doesn't crease, and highly pigmented. They are also $6!!! I have absolutely no complaints. I have bought 35 of these eyeshadows in various shades and every single one is perfection! (Posted on 3/2/15)
A great color for WOC Review by Tracee
Received my package just yesterday and i have to say this color is just beautiful for WOC (I wear MAC NC50 or NW45). It's a great Neutral in a taupe/purple. I paired it with Cocoa Bear to wear as a nice daytime/work added a Dark brown in the V and used a white eyeshadow base. This shadow is so creamy soft, no fallout and goes on very, very nice! Love this taupe/purple neutral shade (Posted on 2/21/15)
another let down Review by melissa
Yet another color let down. Swatches beautifully but hardly any shimmer at all on the lid (Posted on 1/28/15)
A Must Have Unique Purple-Taupe Review by Shannen
I've been on the hunt for a unique looking purple-taupe, and this one won my heart over. It looks super unique and can look different under different lights. You can play around with the base underneath it and create a different look. It's my absolute favorite eyeshadow of ALL time. Absolutely gorgeous, I recommend this shade if you love that shimmery purple-taupe shade!!! (Posted on 12/8/14)
Very unique Review by anna
Great quality, smooth and pigmented. The colour is like a mix between taupe, dusty purple and silver. Very beautiful. It's not as violet as in the pan picture. (Posted on 9/3/14)
Pretty purple taupe Review by Rebecca
This is a staple shade for me because I love purple taupes as opposed to brown or gray taupes. It's buttery smooth and gorgeous if you use a glitter primer. That makes it ultra metallic. (Posted on 8/23/14)
WOW! Review by Cherilyn
To be truthfully honest I did not expect this shade to be so beautiful. I have blue eyes and they pop so much when using this shade. I used this. I got so many compliments when using this Prom Night. Definitely a must have! (Posted on 7/9/14)
Such a unique color Review by Erica
I can't imagine this not looking great on everyone. When I swatched it with different colored bases ...it paired so wellwith all of them... I used pinks and purples ....it's a cool way to always reinvent this color! (Posted on 6/16/14)
Compliments blue eyes so well Review by Megan
This gorgeous shade is a must have. I have blue eyes and very pale skin and this color suits me perfectly! I honestly think it would look perfect on anyone with any eye or skin color though. Truly beautiful shade! (Posted on 6/11/14)
I wish I had Makeup Geek back on my prom night! Ha Review by Tammy
I just received my first order from Makeup Geek which included this shade. I don't even know why I'm surprised but this color is my favorite of them all! ((I ordered mostly neutral matte shades with a few pops if color & shimmer finishes as well.)) It's gorgeous in the photos here but it's simply stunning in person. I think this color is a must have for anyone! I used Cinderella & Cupcake to pair with this as crease & highlight colors & compliments were pouring my way! I am so happy with the quality of my order- the staff even added a thank you note for a nice touch of class!! I will definitely be ordering again!! (Posted on 4/17/14)
A lovely, out of the ordinary shade Review by rodcin
This is an out-of-the-ordinary color! On my NC30 skin, it looks as much purple as it does gray. The predominant hue changes in different kinds of light, which makes it interesting, but it's subdued enough to make it appropriate for conservative work environments. It looks great with my brown eyes, and I bet it would be a knock-out complement to blue eyes. I apply it (over primer) at 7 am and is still going strong at 7 pm. It looks gorgeous with Drama Queen and Unexpected (all which I got with the starter kit.) (Posted on 3/15/14)
Love it Review by Nathalie
A beautiful colour, great pigmentation, I love it ! (Posted on 3/6/14)
So excited! Review by Orlena
I just got all my shadows and I have to say I am impressed! Great job Marlena! I can see I need to get another job to keep up on my new MUG addiction. This colour is just gorgeous, smooth, buttery and perfect!!! (Posted on 2/22/14)
Loving it.. Review by Christine
This is such a great transition color! I recommend this one to any MUA. Thanks, MUG!!! (Posted on 2/9/14)
Love it, not as purple as I thought Review by Aysha
I love this shadow great formula, never used a better shadow colour was a bit less purple then I thought more taupe then purple. Still love it!!! (Posted on 1/2/14)
Gorgeous! Review by Amber
This is such a gorgeous colour. It's shimmery but not too shimmery and while it looks like it's a little silver in the pics it's definitely not too silver. I use this as an all over colour but you could create some really nice smokey eye looks with this. I also have MAC satin taupe but in my opinion, this colour is nicer and a fraction of the price! (Posted on 10/30/13)
Beautiful Review by Veronica
I have mac satin taupe and i love it. I also have so called dupes for it, but in my opinion, no one matches. Prom night is the closest dupe I have ever seen, maybe a little more puple in it then satin taupe. They are like sisters and I'm so glad I have both :) I have blue/grey eyes and prom night makes them pop. I will defiantly buy a second one!! And as Valasia says, it's so much more then a pale purple. Beautiful!!! (Posted on 10/24/13)
No what I Expected Review by Ana
I don't know if its me and am putting it on wrong but I did not like this color at all... its said to have some shimmer but when i placed it over my lid came out flat and dull...and more brownish then greyish. I would no recommend this shadow out. (Posted on 10/22/12)
Very interesting colour Review by Valasia
This is one of the most interesting eye shadow colours I have come across the last few years. And I say that because for the following reason:
When you look it in the pan, you see a very lovely, neutral, pale purple colour. However, when you apply this on the lid, what you get is an almost duochrome eye shadow (at least this is what it looks like on my lids), that is the pale purple I described above, but at the same time, if you look at it from a different angle, you will see an almost metallic (but not overwhelming) pale sliver-blue hue.
Very pretty and flattering, and it makes my eyes look more bright!
Keep up the good work MUGs! (Posted on 10/15/12)
LOVE IT!!! Review by pinkstar
I love, love, love this one!!! very nice...light purple grayish color. It is beautiful when you put it on your lids! I put it is the same category as moondust and homecoming. All three of these are my favorite and my go to colors!!! Good job Mug!!! (Posted on 9/28/12)
