Review: Smashbox “Click You’re It” Eye Palette
Alright muggies, here’s the next review of this year’s holiday palettes! Here’s my 2 cents on the Smashbox “Click You’re It” Eye Palette…
What is It?
An eye palette with 15 eyeshadows, 5 cream liners, and 1 travel size eye primer.
My opinion on this product:
From first glance, this palette seems to be nothing extraordinary- the packaging is simple with its red cardboard case and box like layout. But, I will say the quality of the products inside is much better than the plain packaging. And what’s with the logo “Click, you’re it”?? Not sure what that is supposed to mean….
This palette includes 15 eyeshadows of various colors, 3 matte finish and the rest shimmery. I love the variety of colors, but wish there was a dark brown for blending purposes. The quality is very good- creamy texture, nice pigmentation, and easy to blend.
The bottom row has 5 cream liners which you could also use as cream shadows. I love the purple and the gold colors as they would make a great base for a purple smoky eye, or a simple gold look for the holidays.
I don’t have anything really bad to say about this palette, but I also wasn’t overly impressed with it. It’s too similar to what Smashbox as well as Urban Decay have been putting out for 2 years now.
Pros:
- Excellent quality eyeshadows and cream liners
- Nice variety of colors
- Good mixture between matte and shimmery shadows
- Great idea of including cream shadows/liners along with the eyeshadows
- Although packaging is great for travel, it doesn’t look unique enough for a holiday gift
- Needs a dark brown or black for blending
Rating:
- Packaging: 2
- Quality: 4
- Overall: 4
- Would I buy again? Not sure
- Price: $49

I think “click, you’re it” refers to tag videos, where themes spread around the Internet, so if you’ve been “tagged”, someone has clicked something to indicate you should do a video on that theme — hence, you’re “it”. I’ve never seen the process but I have heard plenty about it.
I’m looking forward to ordering your eyeshadows!
The “Click You’re It” title refers to the founders of Smashbox’s photo studio. Smashbox was fisrt designed to be the perfect picture makeup. I do agree on the color’s they are the same as usual and it doesn’t come with extras like a mascara, brush, shadow primer. On the other hand it is only $39 at Sephora.
Your muggie Jessica was absolutely correct about the smashbox lingo. Since the inception of the cosmetic line the smashbox lingo is everything about photo shoots and photography studios. One my all time fav lines of makeup!!
Thanks for the review! I just got this in the mail today and can’t wait to try it out. I hope you do some tutorials using this palette. : )
Very nice packaging. I already have so much make up, that colour from this palette doesnt arrouse me at all. Nice packaging, but the colors in palette are nothing special for me.
The exact same day as you posted this review, we had bought it for our 16 year old daughter as a gift. I think it’s a great ‘first’ palette. Thanks for the review. If you do any tutorials, I’ll be sure to send her your way.
Hi Marlena,
I was wondering if you have bought and tried the Smashbox Photo Op 78 shade mega palette that came out for this christmas. There are 56 eyeshadows, 4 brow tech powders with brow wax, two large blushes, eight cream liners, 3 softlights highlighter powders and 4 lip glosses. It is a try fold red palette. It is available on QVC. It has almost 300 hundred reviews and almost a 5 star review. Apparently Smashbox has done there largest new launch in the company’s history by reformulating there eyeshadows. Just in case you hadn’t heard about the new formulation or the palette I just thought I’d let you know about it! I do believe though QVC is the only place as of now to purchase it! Apprently all of Smashbox’s eyeshadow trios are in this kit and if bought seperately it would cost over $400 to purchase the trios! So it appears to be one heck of a good deal! If you purchase it could you please do a review on it?!
Thanks so much!
Erin
