Hello beautiful Makeup Geeks!

I hope you’re having a great start to your week and are staying healthy and happy :)  Here is my review of a new foundation that I’m liking so far- the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation.   xoxo  -Marlena

With so many foundations on the market right now, trying to find a new one can be an intimidating task!  Especially when you walk into a drug store and see walls filled with bottles promising to cover, create flawless skin, and give you a youthful glowing appearance.

With high end brands such as MAC, NARS, Chanel, and Make Up For Ever now available to everyone, drug store brands have had to come up with better products to compete.

The first thing you will notice is that the foundation comes in a convenient pump bottle instead of the regular bottle that you have to shake and turn out onto your finger. Take notice other foundations, we find this bottle easier to work with and much handier.  Yay Maybelline!!

When the product is initially pumped out, it has a mousse like texture but when you begin to spread the product out, it has a very gel like consistency.  It also doesn’t dry as fast as some other foundations like the Revlon Colorstay.

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mouse offers full coverage and smoothes out very nicely and blends easily into the skin for a natural look. It provides a nice sheen to the skin without being overly shiny or oily looking. The pricing on this is the best part, but varies on where you purchase it. Overall it runs between $8.00 – $11.00.

This foundation comes in 12 shades so finding a shade that will work perfectly for you is easy. The colors are as follows:

  1. Light 1 – Porcelain Ivory
  2. Light 2 – Classic Ivory
  3. Light 3- Natural Ivory
  4. Light 3.5 – Nude Beige
  5. Light 4 – Nude
  6. Light 5 – Creamy Natural
  7. Medium 1 – Sandy Beige
  8. Medium 2 – Pure Beige
  9. Medium 2.5 – Natural Beige (This is the shade I am using in the video)
  10. Medium 4 – Honey Beige
  11. Dark 2 – Caramel
  12. Dark 3 – Cocoa

Overall I really like this product so far! I like the mousse to gel like consistency which allows it to glide on smoothly and doesn’t dry out my skin, leaving it feeling heavy or cakey. It offers a nice sheen to the skin for an added healthy glow (which is great for my dry skin). I recommend this for dry to combination skin, but if you have oily skin, I would pass as it may slide a bit too much…

What I love:

  • The price
  • The lightweight texture
  • The medium coverage and satiny finish

What I don’t like:

  • May not be best for oily skin
  • Could have a wider range of colors
