Since so many of you have been asking what the difference is between MAC Fix + and Model in a Bottle, I thought I’d share my tips on each one and what they are used for.
MAC Fix Plus
This misting spray can be used for a ton of different things- mist on the face to give a dewy finish to the skin, mix with pigments to create a “foiled” looking eyeshadow, or even spray on hair as a detangler and hair softener. I have to say this is my all time favorite makeup product- there’s not a day that I don’t use it for something!
My main use is for giving a dewy finish to the skin. Once my makeup is applied, I simply mist lightly all over my face- this helps my face powder to almost melt into the skin getting rid of any dry appearance. If you have oily skin though, I recommend not using this as it may make your face look more oily.
This setting spray is my go to product for bridal work as it helps makeup to last all day long! This would also be great for dancers or anyone on stage as bright lights can melt makeup after awhile. Simply mist this all over the face after your makeup is completely done- it makes your makeup almost waterproof (just use a good face cleanser to remove your makeup). I do NOT recommend using this everyday though as it is a heavy duty product that can block pores and irritate the skin if you overuse. Using occasionally is fine as far as I’ve tested. There are 2 formulas: regular and sensitive skin
Ofcourse, as a face spray I love this for spraying on my face after I’ve done my makeup. It takes away the powdery makeup face look which is the main reason I love this product. It gives a very nice glow to my face. I have also tried UD the allnighter but I’m not really impressed with the way it leaves my face looking. Mac fix + does.It can be a little too much of a glow if you spray too much of it on though.
I feel like my makeup sits more perfectly though I don’t think it will add more hours to the life of your makeup because my face gets a little greasier if I wear this.
How I also like to use this I spray some on my beautyblender and press it onto my foundation to giveme a glow.
I also use this if I want to apply my eyeshadow wet. I just pack on some of the color with my brush and than spritz 1 spray of this on it. I like this more than using water in fact because this consistency is a little bit thicker. You can also use this to makeup colored eyeshadows but I’ve never tried that so I wouldnt know.
