Marlena’s French Beauty Product Haul
Bonjour my beautiful Makeup Geeks! I have absolutely loved my time in Paris. I have seen some of the most stunning sights ever. The Eiffel Tower, the cathedral Notre Dame and so many others. One of the best things about being here is the shopping. It’s unlike anything I have ever seen. (Check out my Paris journal on SimplyMarlena.com for more info)
As I have mentioned before, Paris is more about hair and fashion and focuses less on makeup. The makeup that is worn is all neutral and kept to a minimum. Paris is home to the biggest Sephora in the world, and of course I had to go! Along with that and some other places I found, I acquired a pretty good haul. Although they have a lot of the same things that we do, especially in Sephora, I was able to find some things that are no longer carried state side. So I decided to put together a video of all the things that I got while here in the City of Lights.
Listed below is everything I will be showing you in the video as well as the price. I hope you enjoy and find this to be fun and informative.

Just Wahouuuu
i’m french and i’m very happy to have all this products in my country.
i’m also working at sephora in south of France and it’s also great to touch and test everything. (sorry if my english is not so good)
Aww Marlena you’re too cute : “Rose vif” is not prononced “V. I. F” but actually just /vif/ it means “bright” in french, so the english name of the Yves Rocher’s lipglass is “bright pink” Hope that helps ^^
I’m glad you found some products that you like ! One of our best selling products here in Paris, that you can buy in a pharmacy is Huile Prodigieuse from the brand Nuxe. It is a body oil which smells a-ma-zing and moisturize very well ! And it is a dry formula, so it does not have a greasy finish on the skin.
Moreover, there are the original formula and one with gold glitters inside : SO pretty for summer ! Love it. Maybe you can check it out next time you travel to Paris
Yes! I got a deluxe sample of the Nuxe oil in my Birchbox one month and I fell in love! It’s not available in stores here in the states, but you can get it from birchbox.com!
Nuxe is availabel in the US from Beauty.com and Space NK.
Hi,
I’m French too and I also recomend Nuxe and Caudalie products which you can find in Parapharmacies (it’s a kind of store somewhere between Sephora and our pharmacies) here in France, and maybe in Italy too. They smell so good!
I think you’ll see lots of Kiko stores in Italy (cause yes, it’s an Italian brand) and these products are realy good! All over light powder, Soft light powder, nail lacquer, beauty masks… are must-haves right now in France.
Hope this help
“Bon voyage”
Vanessa
the avenue cream is sold here in Canada.
Haha it is so funny the way you pronounce “Kiko” xD
You’re right, Kiko is an italian brand and I totally agree with you, Kiko is like NYX but NYX can be a little bit better, but there are a couple of things that I REEEEAAAAALLY like from Kiko. The lipsticks are amazing, really creamy and not sticky at all. I recently bought a moisturizer and it is AMAZING! It smells great and my skin feels smooth and hydrated. I’m the #1 fan of they’re exfoliating wipes.
BUT (everything has one) I don’t like they’re nail polishes, I really don’t. They don’t last more than one day.
So, if you ever want to try some other products from Kiko, just let me know, I’d be more than glad to send you some of they’re stuff
Oh, and I forgot to tell you (it is more like a suggestion) that I use the ROC Keops deodorant but the liquid roll-on one and it is, by far, THE MOST AMAZING DEODORANT I’VE EVER USED IN MY LIFE. And i’ve tried a lot… So, if you have that chance, try the liquid one.
Do you have a tutorial of the eye look you were wearing in this video? It was so pretty and fresh, and kept catching the light. Really gorgeous!
yes, please ! a tutorial of your makeup look in this video would be wonderful! Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Paris.
I’ve heard for the Bioderma makeup remover you’re supposed to hold it to your eye for about a minute or so, and then wipe the makeup off. Supposedly that works much better! I hope you can figure out a way to make it work for you
love your website!!
Yeah, that’s pretty much how you do it. (Same with all micellar waters.)
I am pleased to say you can get pretty much all these products in Montreal, just north of the border. It’s great that Marlena decided to review these products because her viewers come from all over the world. NYX etc is so hard to get here, it’s fun to finally have reviews on products that are easily available to us, yet overlooked by most American gurus.
Thank you for this!
Hi Marlena. have you tried the sleek eyeshadows palettes? I think they are British but they must be availale in France too …. I always hear so many good reviews on it but would love to hea what you think about sleek makeup … Miss you ;D Ligia, NJ
Their time ieverhed about bioderma was on Lisa Elridge’s website…

?here is a link to aher Website with a video on it. I’ve always wanted to try quit. I hope you do a review on it and find another way to use…
Hope you’re having fun and being safe in Paris! ???? ????
And of course I hope that you’re “staying healthy and happy”. Something I’ve heard once or twice from a bee-u-tee-full person! ????
Lindos os produtos amiga, amo de paixão Maquiagens, beijos e fique com Deus!
I love all of the great things! I hope you love Paris!
let the hoarding commence!!
I love that lipgloss!!
I have one blog also and I just posted amazing Mother’s day gift ideas under $100, looks and the cheerful color-blocking in Beverly Hills:

Ah! I’ve always loved “French beauty” stuff… We have a few of those brands here but not so much the makeup brands, mostly the skincare stuff.
xx Renee
Definitely a review on Embroylisse!! Here in the US and been tempted to order off Amazon for months but my skin is sensitive/breakout prone too! Thanks for sharing
I have similar skin, sensitive (I have to use synthetic brushes, natural fibers give me hives-that sensitive) and prone to breaking out, and I have to say I LOVE Embryolisse. I ordered mine off Amazon (I’m in US too) and it’s awesome. I had been getting shiny/oily with other moisturizers and it completely stopped that. I love it alone, and it’s great under makeup too.
I love this. I love French products as much as I love France. Thanks for this haul.
Kira
Loved this post! Thanks for sharing your haul^^. I want to go to France some day too..

I’m trying to find out the name of the Hair Conditioner you mentioned in the video. I couldn’t catch a view of the name and must not be spelling it right? Didn’t see it on the list either. Fedo? Fideau? Feedou? I would love to know!!
The trick with the BioDerma Crealine H2o is to saturate your cotton round and place across your eye and let sit for a few minutes. then with your ring finger laying on the cotton round where its on your lash line and being VERY gentle, rock your finger back and forth across your lash line then swoop the cotton rounds off your eye with the ring finger from inner corner to outer corner. This will remove ALL eye makeup…primer,shadow,liner/mascara (including waterPROOF formulas), lashes, absolutely everything!!! Lisa Eldridge does her own great version in her Make-up Removal video.

I loved it!
I’m posting from Los Angeles, take a look on the windows of Rodeo Drive and our pictures in Palmdale!!

Great hails! Tempting and it seems that I’m wanting all of those.
You missed one of the best but underrated French cosmetics brand! That is Rouge Baiser. Their lipsticks allow kisses, like the brand name says (“baiser” means kiss). They have classical colors but they recently extended their color range and the new ones are very beautiful.
I have tried them and they are amazingly pigmented and last hours and hours. I have tried numerous lipsticks but those ones are the most long-lasting I have ever tried. They dont’ even leave traces on glasses!
With ordinary lipsticks, the color always transforms on my lips because they are quite dark. But with those lipsticks, the color stays the same when applied, the payoff is gorgeous. The only drawback is that they are quite dry -which explains the long-lasting power- but still comfortable to me, and they are so pigmented that they are hard to remove.
But last but not least, the price-quality balance is very good.
