Eve Pearl Haul and Review
Eve Pearl HD Dual Foundation
What I love or hate about this product:
I love that this product has two seperate colors that you can mix and blend in order to achieve your perfect shade. For all women, but specifically women of color, this is amazing because it is very hard sometimes to find a foundation shade that matches your skin tone. I also appreciate how creamy and smooth this product is. The texture and consistency makes it a dream to blend.
I am not a fan of how heavy the product can feel if I apply it to achieve full coverage. Although my skin can still breath, I do feel as if I have a large amount of makeup on my face. I am also not a huge fan of the price tag, but I know that quality comes at a hefty price sometimes.
The describe it as:.
This luxurious, lightweight cream foundation provides the most versatile sheer – medium – full coverage with a non-greasy texture that glides on the face, while allowing your skin to breathe. The 2 shades of foundation blend into the skin and the universal spectrum of color in the pigments adapt to the skin tone and the changes caused by body chemistry, weather and sun exposure. Ideal to create natural looking highlights and contours when flawless precision is required with High Definition Cameras, Lights and REAL LIFE…for all ages

Eve Pearl HD Dual Pressed Powder
What I love or hate about this product:
I love that this product has two seperate colors that allow you to highlight and contour your face. What is also great about this product is that it can be applied wet and used in place of foundation, or applied dry as a finisher to your makeup look. The price tag is pretty hefty for the fact that it is a pressed powder; however it has a variety of different uses which could justify the cost.
.
They describe it as:
This luxurious powder duo is formulated to work beautifully with our High Definition Dual Foundation or as a stand alone alternative for the consumer who prefers the ease of a powder. EVE PEARL High Definition Dual Pressed Powder is a versatile complexion enhancing product that can be used both wet or dry.

Eve Pearl Anti Shine Mattifying Gel
What I love or hate about this product:
I love that when I apply this product I can see that it has worked. It immediately mattifies my skin and eliminates the oils. I also love that a little bit goes a long way which means I will be able to use this product for a long time. I do not like that depending on what is going on with my skin, this product can sometimes make my skin feel a bit dry. I have to re-hydrate my skin with a spray or a bit of water before I put on foundation when that happens.
.
They describe it as:
.
- The water-based, mattifying formula contains sebum-activating, oil-control spheres that regulate oil production.
- This quick drying gel provides the ultimate sheer/invisible coverage for all skin types and tones.

Hi, I am a loyal MUG and I just thought I’d say what’s been on my mind. I really don’t enjoy tutorials, reviews, etc…by anyone other than Marlena. (from the MUG site) It’s just not the same. Thanks…
Wow. Talk about brutal honesty. Oh well, each to their own I suppose…Thank you Bobbie for your time and opinion on the Eve Pearl products. I appreciate your review and thoughts.
Thank you!
Wow. Cut the person a break, they were a lot nicer than others can be commenting on threads here. But to each their own if you feel this was a nasty remark…
We all love Marlena! I have been a big fan of hers for a very long time. I think we all have very different perspectives and can give different insight on products. MUG is trying to highlight those different perspectives and appeal to a wide range of individuals. Different people identify and gravitate towards different people…
Nothing wrong with being brutally honest, but be kind.
I’ve been watching Marlena’s business grow with everyone else over the past couple years, and while I prefer Marlena, we have to be open to new faces.
Naturally, we compare everyone to her! But being good on camera takes time, and practice! You gotta start somewhere!
We’ve all come to know Marlena so well that it feels odd having “strangers” in our MUG home
You know what? It’s time to be open because in order to keep building this empire, Marlena needs some extra hands and our support! So let’s give them a chance!
Maybe we’d be more open to them if they were first featured in a video with Marlena side-by-side before appearing out of nowhere? Or if Marlena gave them a video introduction?
I agree that as Marlena’s business and popularity grow, she just cannot do it all. And I love that she is showcasing not only a broader range of ethnicities, but nationalities as well.
BRAVO to you Marlena and ALL of your reviewers; I think that Bobby Doll is just adorable and her reviews are very thorough.
Deb
They WERE being kind. they were never rude to Bobbie, they just commented that they like Marlena’s reviews the best. Maybe it just takes time to open to new reviewers but it’s a little unfair to accuse the person of being unkind.
Totally agree with you! Marlena is very good writer, I really enjoy reading her articles. Thanks!
Way to keep it classy, ladies!!
I thoroughly appreciated the review, as I learned something from it….regardless who gave it. Thanks so much:)
Hi, What shade would work for olive skin.
Thanks!
ooops….I mean for the foundation not the powder.
I would say the Tan one.
do I use the Anti-shine before or after the primer? of can it be the primer itself?!?!?!
I like to use it after primer. See what works best for your skin.
Thank u bobbie for a great review. U make our job easier when picking new products to invest in when u hear such honest reviews.
Your very welcome.
Thanks Bobbie! You did an excellent job and your skin looks gorgeous and glowing! I thoroughly enjoyed your review!:)
Great review! You are so cute and bubbly on camera! I agree that it’s important to get different perspectives from other people on products.
Thanks for the review! Do more!
i too agree with christina,i think marlena is the best “love u marlena”.
I agree I’ve watched Marlena for awhile and she is very knowledgeable about makeup and i value her opinions as well. BUT expanding her business and adding reviews by women of color is a very wise move. African American women would probably appreciate opinions from someone like Bobbie cause she knows first hand whats best for that demographic. The same goes for Asian women. I think they might like a girl like them too. I think its hard when a look for Asian eyes is being shown on Marlena who has nice eyes don’t get me wrong but its not the same. I’m not Asian but I have small eyes, I’d prefer a tutorial on small eyes actually done on small eyes so I can fully comprehend the steps and see the what it will really look like. So I’m all for new opinions. Marlena is still my favorite but who is to say Bobbie isn’t going to be someone other girls favorite. I’ll still watch all the girls cause everyone is different. I don’t think Marlena would let anyone do tutorials who she didn’t believe in herself.
Thank you bobby for your great reviews. your doing a great job:) I think its so good that its a woman with darker skin that reviews makeup. your so cute:)
Great job Bobby, it is good to see a woman of color voicing her knowledge on what is good for a different type of skin color other than light. I truely thought your review was filled with good tips and knowledge. I as a woman of light skin always wondered how other woman of different skin colors dealt with only seeing reviews done with colors and products that possibly don’t work for them, it must be so hard!. I think this was a great addition to the MUG family! Keep it up!
Hi Bobbie,
I loved your review. It was presented with appeal to all, but highlighting women of color. I am one of those people who has to mix two shadows daily to get the color and coverage I need. I am going to try this because it seems to simplify the process. I have watched the black women on the Eve Pearl website, but to hear a regular person and not a model was refreshing. I feel like I am ready to try it. Thanks. Great job! I love Marlena but I this is something that as a black woman I am interested in. Thanks Marlena.
wowie!!! Betta try this foundation out!! it sounds great
Hi Bobbi, thanks for the review. I think you were great and most importantly honest. There is no doubt that we love Marlena, and we love her even more for allowing a different perspective to be showcased. I am a true make-up fan and look for all opinions. Thanks Bobbi and Marlena. XOXOX.
I absolutely LOVE Marlena! She’s the reason I started frequenting this website! However, as a woman of color, it is wonderful to have another brown lady do some reviews, because as much as we’d like to pretend that we’re all the same, we’re not, and that’s OK!
Sometimes it’s nice to have someone speak to the specific makeup needs of people of color, not to mention, I’ve seen Bobbie do general reviews that I enjoyed too! Keep an open mind, and remember what mama taught you…If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all! Love to ALL the Makeup Geeks that make this site possible! XOXOXOXO
