Review & Swatches: MAC Peacocky

What is it?

A brand new MAC collection inspired by the fabulous colors of the peacock.

They Describe it as:

We fetishize the exotic peacock as a symbol of extreme beauty, raging against everything simplistic. New Kissable Lipcolour combines full flash with creamy comfort. Mega Metal Shadow gleams like chrome – yet is creamy, crease-resistant, with vitamin-fortified flexibility. Dramatic doesn’t even begin to describe the girl who knows she’s Peacocky.

Overall Opinion:

I love M.A.C products so when I saw the mailer for this I was pumped.  I LOVE this collection.  The idea to base a cosmetic collection after this famous bird is fantastic because you could do so much with the coloring.  Unfortunately, MAC didn’t go nuts on this one.  There were a lot of neutral colors. Definitley not what I expected but when I swatched a few at the counter I still loved the texture and shades.  I guess I thought it would have been slightly bolder.  The hard part was chosing which ones.  I ended up picking two shadows I thought could make a fun look for all of you, and two glosses. One of which being blue.  I had to, real blue lipgloss, that almost never happens!  Not a color I will wear everyday, but a fun one for the future dramatic looks and photo shoots.

You are beautiful and I love the combination of Mating Call and Odalisque!

So funny how I just saw a review where somebody complained there’s not enough neutral shades in this collection and now you’re saying they’re not bright enough. I’m with you though, hello.. it’s called “Peacocky”, did you expect to see greys and taupes?? lol

I love how you combined those shadows. I purchased Mating Call and I will try to do something similar. Thanks for the idea. You look really great.

Taryn you should start making videos. You are so creative and clearly a wonderful makeup artist along with photographer :)

I agree with Jillian!
