Review: *NEW* Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow Crayon

Happy Friday, Makeup Geeks!

I hope you all are having a great month and are staying cool out there (was almost 100 degrees today in California!)

Anyways, I bought some of these Aqua Shadow Crayons while in school and wanted to review them for you as they are fairly new.

What I love:

  • The ease of use.  Just one swipe and a little smudge will get you a fast smokey eye.
  • The staying power.  Once these set (after about 30 seconds), you have a waterproof makeup look for a hot day :)
  • The pigmentation.  The matte ones especially have intense colors- my favorite is the gray and green ones
  • The blendability.  I love how you have a bit of time to blend out the edges.  They’re not too sticky or dry
  • The finish.   I love matte finish products as I like to choose where I add the shimmer.  I just wish there were more than 5 matte colors…

What I don’t like:

  • The price is a bit steep for what they are
  • There’s not enough colors- Makeup Forever needs a purple, pink, and a true gold

I bought most of the Urban Dacay pencils a while ago and the other day i realized i hardly ever use them, so i’ m gonna stay away from these.

will you do a makeup tutorial for the look you are wearing now? its gorgeous!!!!!!!!

I fell in love with the Urban Decay pencils. One day, I was sitting down with my Mom, looking at her Avon book and saw that Avon also sells cream eyeshadow pencils. I hummed and hawed about getting one to try it out because I don’t normally buy Avon products (I don’t find them to be of very good quality usually), however, I broke down and bought one of their pencils. I got the one in blue smoke which is a matte blue/gray and I loved it so much that I bought all of their colours. I can honestly say (and don’t judge me until you’ve tried them for yourself) that I prefer my Avon cream shadow pencils over my Urban Decay ones and they are literally half the price!

Maybe it’s one of those products wherein they’re waiting to see how the colours released sell before releasing any more?

Needs more pictures swatches, but I’m hoping you’ll sort that out eventually. :)

Please, please a tutorial on this look. It would be great that when you do a video you at least list the colors you are wearing. You always look great on the videos.

im only 8 but i love makeup geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk and their makeup especailly marlena my mom said when i come back from california i can get a youtube acount and do makeup totorials

I just love my UD shadow stash pencils. They’re so convenient and useful. I want to try these!

I bought some of these at IMATS for $12 each. I like these a lot more than the Urban Decay shadow pencils. I found those ones have a nasty, sticky finish. I just wish MUF would’ve had more shades available there. They feel pretty much the same as the skinny pencils & apply very easily and smoothly. The matte shades are very opaque. I prefer them over the Aqua Creams because you’ve got more control over applying them before they set. They’re also quite versatile. These were $2 less than the skinny Aqua Eyes pencils at IMATS, yet they are over 4 grams each. A huge difference in the amount of product you get. Glad I picked these up at such a great price.

Marlena Can you do a tutorial on this and please do one on the Aqua Creams in the pot!! How do you get them not to look blochy?? And more MFE tutorials!!!!
