Review: Benefit Foaming Face Wash and Facial Polish

In my quest of finding the perfect skincare products, I came across this Face Wash and Exfoliator from Benefit.  The first thing to catch my eye was the adorable and very creative packaging! Its rubber like finish is perfect for sitting in the shower without getting gross, and the overall design is very clean looking.

The cleanser smells so fresh and foams up really well with my clarisonic face brush.  I love how clean my face feels afterwards!  It gets off all my makeup without leaving any residue behind.  The exfoliant has micro beads in it that get rid of dead skin cells and make the face feel super soft.

What are they?

A gentle one step facial wash and a facial exfoliator that polishes dull skin.

What I love:

  • The packaging- clean and practical design
  • It has a fresh smell that isn’t overpowering
  • Cleanses my skin without drying it out
  • Exfoliator is gentle yet makes my skin feel amazingly soft

What I hate:

  • The price could be just a tad cheaper
.

I don’t have much negative to say about these other than the price.  I alternate between this cleanser and my Cetaphil one just to save some cash :)

Thanks for this review Marlena…I’ve been trying to decide on a good cleanser and was recently looking at this one from Benefit. I love cleansers that foam up as well and am glad to hear it doesn’t feel like it leaves a residue!

Speaking of Benefit, have you tried the They’re Real mascara? I would love to know your opinion on that as I have read some other reviews that say it is amazing!
I wonder how it compares to the L’Oreal Voluminous (which is also my favourite mascara since high school!!!!)

Thanks again! =D

I have it and i don´t see a difference between the Benefit and the L´Oreal Mascara. But i have very long and dark lashes so i hardly ever see a difference whether i use Benefit or L´Oreal or Clinique or whatever.
I just find the Benefit brushes too big. Not only the They´re Real but also the Bad Gal Mascara. WAY too big.

preet! i wouldnt recomend the cleanser for you r oily skin because it has too creamy of a texture, so is more for a normal to dry skin type. the exfoliating cream is really nice though and you can use it for any skin types :)

Another thing for my wishlist :) Gonna buy it once my Clinique cleanser is empty. I love the Benefit products but they are so pricey….

I’m looking for a good cleanser so thanks for the review. I hope you continue to do some more

skincare product reviews. I was interested in trying a drugstore brand I had seen in Target named

SIMPLE. I believe they say they are from the UK.

I have been using Simple for 6 months.. Im glad they are in the US now.. So I dont have to 15 bucks in shipping.. Its great if you have really sensitive skin… I love it at wal- mart is starts at 6.00-11bucks.. Great deal for nice products

Sorry for meddling but the purity facial cleanser has a lot of lavender oil and that is just as harmful as pure alcohol on your skin, i would advise against it :S it cleans nicely but it might make your skin age a lot faster :(

I also line the foaming cleanser by clinique. The price is great and with the clarisonic I use less product which saves me $$$$ :). Another foaming cleanser I like is the gel to foam cleanser by lancome. Its good for combo skin and smells good
Price is not great thou :(

Hay Marlena,
I have a question but not related to this review, but first I will LOVE to thank you for all the info. you gave to us. My question is my hair is dark brown (I guess like your hair colour in this vedio) so I want to know which tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse, Medium brown or Rich brown?
Thanks again :)

OH MY! Is that an ‘I WANNA LOVE YOU FOREVER’ ring I see???? Is that why you are having such a good year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehehe! Love, V

Have you used Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple? I absolutely LOVE this cleanser! Not only does it feel really clean, (it doesn’t leave a residue, and it hydrates you skin) but it also removes ALL of your makeup. Even your eye makeup! Can’t really say how much I love it! I hope you do a review on it! : )

Have you ever done a reveiw on Aveda skin care products? I am an Aveda Esthetician and would love to recommend some products for you to try if you are interested. I also LOVE our make-up.

Omg I love the whole line of these products. I have been using them since they first came out. The eye cream is amazing too!

depending on how sensitive your skin is they should do fine, however they are mostly chemical based so i would suggest going to a sephora store and getting some samples so you can do a little allergy test with the products before you purchase :)

you should try the eye-cream too! it works even better than hylexyn for dark circles and lines! and is super mild on skin so you don’t get little bumps or rough texture as a side effect. works as an awesome eye prep for before you do your eye makeup :)

Unfortunately this duo broke me out like none other. Left my skin feeling overly tight and dry even with moisturizer. After having the major breakout I tried using just one and not the other to see if I could narrow it down and just continued to break out. Back to the Noxzema- 10 years of use with wonderful results. Guess I learned my lesson- don’t stray when you have found your miracle face product. $3 bucks at Target can’t beat that with a stick

I’m a beauty junkie, and always looking for something better, but I have to agree with Elihook on this one. I was really excited to try this combo, so I got the whole six piece trial kit from ulta (http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2229454&productId=xlsImpprod3590365&navAction=push&navCount=1&subdoc=6benefitwk8&categoryId=cat80189)

These products are very perfumed. They do smell nice, but if you are sensitive to perfume this will not work for you. I have sensitive skin, and although I think this line is for that type it is too harsh. My skin has been extra dry and I had red bumps all over. I tried using different parts of the kit, and it doesn’t seem to matter. None of them work for me. I’m gonna have to take them back.

My recommendation to people who want a wonderful cleanser that doesn’t irritate skin is the Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam. It may not strip away your eye makeup fully, but it leaves your face clean and bright. When I stick to this cleanser and use it with the toner, it gives really nice results. I’m a big fan.
