Which do you prefer the mac matte gel or Smashbox Photofinish Primer?? which works better for oily skin??
I just started using Smashbox Photofinish Light Primer (formulated for oily skin) and it has been amazing! Normally I am shiny within 2 hours and with this new primer it is at least 4-5 hours before I feel that way. I highly recommend it!
Do you take something to clean your brushes in between uses? Is tha make up forever foundation full coverage?

They’re priced around $20-$25 depending on if you get the larger or smaller one. I have one and I love it. Mine is purple lace though.
I found the exact case she showed at Target it’s $25.99 and they have a smaller one for $20.99
I loooove those train cases. I have one that I keep all my stuff in, I keep it on the counter. when I travel I just pick it up and go, already packed

My brother always laughs at me when he sees my half of luggage consists only of make up. I am not a make up artist, though, but I feel so miserable if I don’t have my favourite stuff around me. Also one has to take other cosmetics like creams, cleansers, shampoo, etc. which increases the luggage additionally. But what is to be done, when one is a girl… *sigh*

I was wondring the false lashes you mentioned about in this video, I feel they are short lashes from the length. How do I apply them properly? Please Help.
They are short because they should be applied in the outer third of your eyes.. It´s like having the half of a regular false lash, so you must place them above your iris as close as the eyelash line… this are easier to apply beacuse they are smaller and you don´t have to place them on the entire lashline, so it dries faster and the shape of the Ardell 305 makes your eyes pop instantly.. they are also my favorite false lashes

I have a strange question. I’ve asked this to other makeup artists before and they have laughed at me which kinda sucked. I know you won’t do that because I know you want to help.
Sometimes when I go on dates and I end up making out with my date some of my foundation rubs off my face. I have acne scars above my mouth and on my chin and by kissing the foundation comes off. I get really embarrassed because my scars are now showing and I am looking for a way to make sure the makeup does not come off. I use a primer and have powder over my makeup. I wonder if you can make a suggestion. Thanks so much!

I have some advice but not sure if you’re going to like it but hear me out. Men really don’t care about things like acne scars. If they do, then they’re assholes. Most men think women wear too much makeup anyway. Yes, they appreciate a girl who keeps up her appearance but if you ask most what they remember about a girls face, they get very general. They mostly notice eyes and lips. The only facial imperfection they might notice is upper lip or chin hair and even then you have to look like Gerard Butler in drag.
Don’t believe me? Check out former Miss America (that’s right beauty queen) Vanessa Williams. Her face was covered with crater acne scars when she won the contest. You can even see a huge pimple from a mile away on the pictures from that night! She was one of the hottest girls of the 80′s and it was only recently that they came up with technology to reduce the scarring and smooth out her face. Back in the 80′s though, every guy I knew had her poster and wanted to sleep with her. I’d here things like, “Yeah, she’s got bad skin and sh&%# but she’s hot. They’re plenty of ugly chicks with good skin. No way I’m passing up a chance with her over that.”
Just something to think about. Five bucks says the guy doesn’t notice or care. Ask an ex or a male friend. They’ll confirm what I’m saying.

I’m glad I could help. I just get so tired of how hard we girls are on ourselves when it comes to appearance, especially when it comes to guys. I used to make myself crazy but I’ve learned how simple-minded they are when it comes to looks while we are obsessed. I read this in Esquire Magazine years ago and it’s a rule to live by. When it comes to beauty and fashion trends, “Men like pretty.” I take this to mean no over the top stuff, nothing too experimental. They just won’t get it. Personally, if I’m trying to get a man I keep it simple; clean TOUCHABLE hair, flower-scented perfume, waxed legs, non-sticky lip products, tasteful but easily accessable clothing. The rest (makeup, jewelry) I do for me beacause I know he won’t notice.
I think you sound like an awesome person. I wish you could lend me some of your confidence or better yet teach me how to develop some. I’m dating a guy right now and I really like him, but I am so scared for him to see me without makeup. It stops us from hanging out and it stops me from being comfortable with him. I hate that I am like this, but your strength and confidence helps me. Thanks so much!!!

I was in Eastern Europe recently and I know some Serbian’s don’t like to go to Croatia but there is a Sephora in Zagreb which has heaps of products. I got some Urban Decay and Too Faced items which I was excited about because I can’t find them in Australia.

This is so usefull! I went to Chicago for a day and a half, so I packed a bag larger than a purse but smaller than a duffle. I was able to roll up a pair of sandals, a dress, and underthings into a size small enough to tuck way into a corner of the bag, because the rest of the bag was stuffed to the seams with my makeup! I’m happy to say Ive learned a thing or two from this site because sooo much of what I took was in your case, Now I want the case! I didnt think all that would fit.

i read earlier up there a previous mug asking what u recommend taking in ur kit for a makeup client.
i try to fit so much in those little bags so i dont get there and realise ive forgotten something important!
ive considered like asking the client before hand what they want done before i get there, like if they had a look in mind…. but you know girls! they can be unpredictable and change there mind =p…
so that would be goood… i know u get lots of requests daily, so if you cant get a round to it i understand =]=]

I love the idea of taking that much makeup on a trip. Flying however, isn’t as forgiving when it comes to excess baggage. Airlines today typically have a 2 bag maximum to check and a 2 bag carry-on restriction that counts your purse as bag #1. I’ve seen airlines charge as much as $150 for additional baggage! Don’t even get me started on security checkpoint stuff. Your caboodle would likely end up in a dumpster along with my aunt’s $50 bottle of Chanel No. 5. Could you do an addendum to this video that talks about packing makeup for flight craziness? Including something on the best way to transfer stuff into travel containers and on how to protect products from being damaged in transit would be great. Thanks for all your wonderful videos and this AMAZING site!

What I do if I have products I don’t want to be damaged is I put them in between clothes in my suitcase. For example anything that is a pressed powder (bronzer, blush, eyeshadow), those are the products that are most likely to break during transit, so I put for example a shirt, then an eyeshadow palette on top, then one or 2 other shirts, then my bronzer and blush, then some other clothing… you get the picture!
Well…that’s a lot to carry but there’s a lot of great suggestions
Today I bought a new eye pencil, L’oreal Contour Khôl, I hope this isn’t too creamy. I don’t like when they easily blend and dirt all my eyes.

I would really love to see a tutorial on how to do natural looking makeup on a more mature woman 40′s. It would be great to see what makeup techniques you’d use on someone with a few skin challenges, fine lines on forehead, eyes and marionette lines, under eye circles, old acne scars, brown spots and larger pores. When I do my makeup for special occasions, I think it turns out quite nice but i’m wondering what products are the best for these challenges, particularly the skin.

Guys, I’ve been wondering and looking for an answer in MUG but I can’t find it. How would you rate Sephora cosmetics? I mean, their own makeup brand: eyeshadows, mascara, eyeliners?
They have really good value boxes and palettes, like the one portable or the gift boxes. But I don’t trust them enough: so many stuff for that price?
