Please if possible do guide me regarding my foundation colour n texture selection………………my skin is oily n its fair with pale tone,so which foundation would you suggest for my skin colour n type. And also I wanted to know about a good primer for my skin type. I’m actually in search of a foundation that looks natural with a glow on skin,that doesn’t feel like a foundation. A good primer would be a mattyfing one to help with the oil- Mary Kay has a good one and so does MAC. For foundation, I usually recommend mineral foundation for oily skin, but if you want liquid then Makeup Forever’s HD foundation is pretty nice without being too heavy. I also like Revlon’s foundations for the most part- I wouldn’t recommend the newest HD one for oily skin though as it is pretty shiny. Let me research it a bit more, k?

Try Neutrogena Mineral Glow Sheers in “Fair to Light”. They only make 4 shades because its so sheer it works on everyone’s skin tone. Its so light you cant even feel it and it has such a subtle shimmer in it. It looks like your skin is well moisturized but not shiny or greasy. It contains SPF so its especially great for your skin and since you are pale, like me, it will keep you from burning in the summertime or in the snow.
I’m a professional makeup artist and anytime I come across someone who does not want to wear foundation or has near perfect skin, I use this on them. I wear it daily with concealer under my eyes and some on a pimple if I’m broken out. Be warned though, its not a heavy coverage. Its heavier than a tinted moisturizer because its a foundation but its not quite like liquid foundation; so if you have a lot of acne/scars/ uneven tone/etc. that you want to conceal, this is not the product you’s need.
I’d recommend you try it though, its only around $12-15 and if you dont like it most stores will return it.

I’ve heard good things about Neutrogena for oil control- I’ve used the Mary Kay one and really like it. My skin’s a bit drier now so I use the MK time wise line. I’m sure some of the other MUGS have their favorites to share too

I really enjoyed you I think you are great. I just started wearing makeup about a year ago. Until I saw your video I didn’t know how to ally eyeshadow or even that I needed a base. Hi Marlena, I just wanted to tell you that I am on your site religously and absolutely love your work! I check everyday to see if there are new tutorials. I just wanted to ask you if it would be possible to maybe do a tutorial on Kara DioGuardi’s from Americia Idol. Every single time I watch that show she has almost the same makeup on and it looks so good and I know it’s totally something you could do. Marlena, I have a suggestion/idea. Could you make a look that was maybe…… blue-green……. sporty…….. and really easy and fast…… oh could you use the this one product….. it’s SEA GLASS #55 from the Maybelline New York line!? I bought some of the colors like the SEA GLASS, LASTING LILAC, or the ROSE TINTS!? They work really well and are so easy!

Now, I haven’t really used alot of Mac in my past, and I’ve just recently started using some of their foundation. I use Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation,and I just wondered if you’ve ever used this, and if so what do you think of it. I find it too be really silky and smooth when you put it on, and it works fine on me, but I just wanna know what you think of it.
Another thing I wanted to ask about was about your daily makeup routine. I was just wondering what is it exactly you do in the morning before the eyeshadow and all. I usually use a face primer, throw on some foundation, brush on a little face powder and done. Just wanted to know if you could do a video on that. I would really appreciate it (:
