Just brought some fairly expensive Clinique foundation. I want the product to last as long as possible so which is the best way to apply? I have either a beauty blender or a small stippling brush at my disposal.

Sponges tend to soak up more product then brushes since they are naturally absorbent, but using the beauty blender while it’s damp can help with that problem. Stippling will most likely use less of your foundation since you’re only putting the product on the tips of the bristles. What I usually do is buy a pump for my foundation bottle (if it doesn’t already come with one) and pump out however much I need on a piece of makeup paper or palette, that way I know how much product I’m using. You can buy a pump at M.A.C. but it won’t necessarily fit all foundation bottles. Hope this helps!

I dispense the product onto the palette, and then dab my stippling brush into the product. I like doing it this way, because after a while you are visually able to see how much is enough, and it leads to less waste over time.

Just do some trial and error.

(Also I’d argue that, compared to some other high end foundations, Clinique is generally not that expensive.)
