Hey all,
I was just wondering what everyone’s favorite tinted moisturizer is. I recently found a great one at Target, I think it’s made by Boots, called NO7 Soft & Sheer. I have combo / oily skin and don’t really like the feel of foundation on my face and luckily I don’t break out much or feel like I have real problem skin (except for a little oil and bigger than I would like pores). But I have started to ramble. Yes, who likes tinted moisturizer and what brand is your fav?
Thanks!
April 29, 2012 at 10:49 am #168276I’m planning on giving Garnier’s BB cream a try for the summer. Derms and MUA have praised it.
Failing being satisfied with that — I’ll add moisturizer t my foundation to thin it.
April 29, 2012 at 9:31 pm #168379I used Bobbi Brown’s oil-free one last summer and a bit into this year. Not bad, but I hate the smell. (Seriously, it smells like old bandaids.) I want to try one of the Laura Mercier ones, as I’ve heard/read good things about them.
April 30, 2012 at 11:38 am #168469Update! I also gave the new Garnier BB cream a try and I really really like it. It is closer to my skin color. The Boots NO7 was a bit too dark. I may actually try to mix the two as I do like the lighter feel of the Boots stuff a little bit better. But the even cooler thing is my face actually feels and look more healthy. It sounds cheesy but I actually do think it makes my skin kind of glow, but not in a wet, oily way if that makes sense. I’m a fan. Now I just have to figure out which I like better!
April 30, 2012 at 10:22 pm #168631I use the Aveeno tinted moisturizer. I really like it. It’s sheer coverage, has SPF30, and does not get greasy on me as long as I use a mattifying gel primer under it ( I’m also combo skin and without the primer, I do get shiny). I tried the Garnier BB Cream and I love the way my skin looks. Again, I must use a matte primer underneath.
April 30, 2012 at 11:35 pm #168643I really love Cliniques tinted moisturizer. I’ve used it for years and even though I try others (Tarte etc) I still come back to this one!!
April 30, 2012 at 11:38 pm #168644I am glad to see people having good results with the Garnier BB cream. I tried it and had an allergic reaction, probably due to the fragrance which is something I am often sensitive to. I would like to find a fragrance-free BB cream or tinted moisturizer that has pink undertones for fair to light skin. So many of the ones that just come in light or medium are too yellow for my cool undertone. I also tried the Clinique one but did not like how it looked on my cheeks which tend to be dry.
May 1, 2012 at 11:15 am #168809I like Dermalogica’s tinted moisturizers because they contain antioxidants which protect the skin from the elements.
May 1, 2012 at 4:19 pm #168863Currently Im using Sephoras TM, and its pretty great! All the other prestige brands who carry a TM are so expensive! Most of them cost more than my MAC foundation, which is stupid to me, its just a tinted moisturizer.
I was apprehensive at first when the darkest shade (Tan Hazlenut) came out looking really light against my skin ( NW43). Once i rubbed it into my skin, it seemed to oxidize really well and was a good match. For only 20$, it was a steal.
I have oily skin, and this formula is a bit greasy. However, Ive tried a few powders over it, and it seems to matte it out. It covers REALLY well for a TM and matches my skin surprisingly well. I dont mind the sunscreen smell, because the sun protection half the appeal of a TM for me. The only real gripe I have with the product is that sometimes the pump thing doesnt always respond, even after shaking and squeezing.
May 16, 2012 at 1:47 pm #171267Laura mercier do an amazing one, they have an spf in them and im not joking the tube is so huge they last about a year easily. I think mine lasted about a year and a half. Good investment.

You won’t find one among the BB creams (by which I’m referring to the true BB creams — Asian ones). You may have better luck with the tinted moisturizers, and maybe even with BB cream wannabes (western “BB creams”).
May 19, 2012 at 1:12 am #171692Shelly, when you say “the true bb creams” you are talking about the ones mainly used to literally lighten the skin right? I researched it a little a while back and heard that one common beauty trend in asian/pacific countries was to lighten the skin…am I anywhere near correct????
May 28, 2012 at 8:16 am #173356my favorite tinted moisturizer is the MAC studio moisture tint
May 28, 2012 at 12:38 pm #173404Mia, I mean Asian BB Creams in general.
Many of them have skin lightening ingredients, yeah, which is something many Asians seek out. But I don’t think all of them have this.
May 28, 2012 at 4:18 pm #173469I will forever recommend theBalm BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer.
