Because, sometimes we need to rant . . . but it doesn’t really need it’s own thread.

I hateeeee being sick!! I blame it completely on my husband! Lol. He was feeling crummy but still continued to kiss me when I asked him not to. :-p He said ”I’m not sick” – guess what? He was.

I just got a call for an interview tomorrow for a waitressing job, and now I can’t go :(

oh wow civicbabe that does give you a good reason to rant! hope your feeling better.

I was just browsing the weekly challenge threads (great creations people!) and came to the conclusion i don’t like people only coming on mug to post in the challenge and do nothing else to become a part of this mugcommunity…..not trying to be rude, mean or hurt anyone, i just came to the conclusion i don’t like that. I would like to get to know the people behind the pics, see more of their looks (and not search for their blogs or youtubechannels), get advice from them besides just seeing their face in one section of the forum.

Yeah, @Daantje, I kinda agree, we need to work together to build up the community like it was before on the old forum. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Sorry for off-track tangent. You can pm if you like :)

I also agree with Daantje. If MUG ever does a VIP Membership, I think contests should only be exclusive to members. It just seems like random people from Youtube that aren’t really MUG followers/forum posters come across the contest vids and see free makeup so they post their look once, and we never hear from them again. Er, it is great promotion…maybe I’m just being a poor sport since it decreases my chances of winning a contest. lol

I am in full agreement with the random postings of people not even really part of the MUG community. I also think it’s frustrating when people airbrush, add effects, change the color tone, etc. I find it really obvious. It seems that MUG does, too, because the winners never have these enhancements going on, but still.

There’s really no need for these kinds of comments, especially given that those who have commented are long time members of this community, and have contributed a considerable amount in the past. Regardless, even if someone is a new member that does not automatically invalidate their opinion, or what they may bring to and/or share with the community.

I’m completely mad at my grandmother. She is a very old-fashioned lady who doesn’t accept the fact that I’m about to move in with my boyfriend before getting married. She is ruining this very important moment of my life with comments like “if he really loved you, he would marry you”, “what will people think of you?”, “you’re a little slut living like that”. Today she even started crying really hard when she realized that I’m very close to get a new house and move.
I know that she is wrong (according to MY personal values) and that there is nothing I can do to change her 1910′s mind, but I can’t help feeling hurt by these mean comments at the time when I should be celebrating and feeling my happiest.

At least ranting makes me feel a little better! Thanks for reading, and any advice is welcome :)

I’m really getting irritated by getting multiple friend requests on this website by a few people. It’s irritating enough to have a random stranger want to “friend” you without introducing themselves but when someone politely declines they need to not friend them again, and again!

This isn’t facebook. No one needs to have a plethora of “friends” on this website.

I wish people would use the friend feature for people they actually befriend.

Heya diablita – your granny probably means well, don’t let it get to you. If it were me, I’d let her have her say but dont be bullied into agreeing – or arguing. She’ll get tired eventually. Its sweet she cares – just be your own woman.

I hate social networking sites and refuse to join.
I call my friends or email them – I’m in my 30′s for goodness sake, not 12 years old – it would be *ridiculous* to say I had 1000 friends

    Rant rant rant

I can also relate to the old fashioned grandmother rant! When I dyed my hair blonde, my grandmother told me I looked like a stripper, she nearly had a heart attack when I dyed my hair red. And when she saw my tongue piercing… LOL She went maaaad but we just have to remember that they grew up in a completely different era to us and they just dont understand modern day ‘fads’ and technically, its not even really their fault.

I went through a phase of dying my hair metallic purple with Fudge paintbox – old people were more curious than anything else… haha they cant judge – I’ve seen the wackiest hair colours on lil ol ladys he he he…

My mother in law is a different story! But she just grew up with certain ideals… its part of her charm I guess.
I politely let her have her say and laugh it off later :)

Jeeze, I feel really bummed that Muggies are thinking less of other Loyal MUGS who may NOT constantly be posting and friending, asking questions on this site all of the time……because I’m one of those your talking about I guess. I LOVE Marlena and I’ve been hooked on her Vids forever……I’ve spent a LOT of my time and money on this website, buying her makeup and brushes, etc…..too much money to even mention. Just b/c “some” of us take the Polls once in awhile (I don’t enter the contests, I’m 42 and busy w/ a Life) shouldn’t make “YOU MUGS” anymore VIP then the next person. Actually, I’m really a little put off by this childish Grade School attitude……we have so many Social Networking Sites as it is, just like that one Intelligent Woman said before. Is MakeupGeek seriously thinking of charging a VIP Membership to those MUGS who may join all the makeup contests, post all day, etc??? Somehow I Truly cannot picture Marlena taking it to that level……I LOVE HER 4 WHO SHE IS, she’s taken her hard earned talents and time to give us those adorable TuTs, advice, and smiles, the laughs are her trademark;) I watch Tuts religiously BUT my LIFE comes first, Sorry I don’t exactly Live on this site. If VIP Membershiip DOES happen to come to fruition, I might have spent the money to join ….but hearing such juvenile comments about people winning prizes(who surf the sites) and thats the only reason they are competing, blah blah blah, it’s just pure Jealousy, Get over it, Don’t know how old some of you are but for Pete’s Sake, Chill, it’s not the end of the world…….Now I KNOW that I won’t join if that’s all Makeupgeek is going to be about. I Hope that the Moderators really take this to Heart and pass on to Marlena that this Site never started out like that to begin with, let’s not start having “catty women” as I usually refer to them, start running the show here. I Honestly mean no harm and hopefully the gals that are cool and sorta understand where I’m coming from will understand. This site could risk losing Loyal Mugs b/c of comments like these AND the so called “VIP”Membership (whatever that means)????
    Peace Out Muggies:):)
