Hi MUG’s,
Since there are a lot of new people around, I thought I would do a little reminder of the rules for the Show You Face section.
It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there and post a picture of your look on here, especially when you are a beginner.
So it’s obvious we ask everybody to be nice in their comments -we don’t ask you to lie, of course, be sincere but diplomatic
Although we believe that there is always something positive to say and we like to focus on that, we know that learning comes from experience, trials and errors, and receiving comments from others. That is why a lot of members want to receive constructive criticism.
Since you can never know who is willing to receive such criticism or not, we ask you to mention it on your post. Like “Please CC” or “CC welcome” – as easy as that.
Please don’t feel like you can’t get constructive criticism on this forum, because you do, we simply need you to ask for it.Thanks for reading this!
Looking forward to seeing more looks and reading your CC, tips and ideas!Mariella

March 27, 2012 at 5:00 am #161005yeahh.. i got told that one of my looks was “awful” in the comments below.. huh
who knew?April 10, 2012 at 7:18 am #164292We all love this site and it is more like a family, we are all learning no matter how much experience you have! I love “Constructive” criticism, but there is a difference from saying you look awful, wow, then saying what beautiful lipstick you have on, I would love to get a shade like that and you have beautiful eyes, maybe if you blend out the corners a little bit more your eye will really pop, but great job~just my example of having a little taste and respect. One bad apple shouldn’t have to ruin the bunch
I don’t have any looks to put on yet, but I will and I would not mind at all for some help and tips, but we are all trying so lets be gentle because it is hard to put ourselves out there and we are working hard on ourselves so we do deserve a little praise for caring enough about our self! I haven’t seen any bad pictures yet, everyone has done a great job a looks beautiful! Kristi xxooJuly 6, 2012 at 6:30 pm #180125I would also like to add that if you’re going to constructively criticize someone, it’s good to suggest a technique that might look better. For example rather than “You should work on your cat eye” say something like “I find that the cate eye works best with a felt tip liquid liner. I draw the triangle on the outside corner first and then extend the line inward.” (That’s how I do a cat eye anyway). In many cases, Marlena probably already has a great video demonstrating a good technique, so referring people to specific videos that helped you is another good idea.
