I purchased a few of the single eye shadows by NYX and love the colors and the price. The only problem is the glitter speckles end up all over my face, and quite frankly it drives me nuts. I use a primer AND an eyeshadow base, and can’t figure out the secret to keeping everything in place. Any advice? It makes me feel like I’m 12.

    Thanks!

One thing you can do is apply your eyeshadow before you apply foundation. It’s much easier to clean up; you can just brush or wipe any fall-out away when you’re done. A couple more options are to take a sponge and apply a lot of loose powder under the eye before you apply eyeshadow, or you can hold a tissue in place under your eye to catch any fall-out.

The other thing can be your application technique. What kind of brush are you using to apply the eyeshadow?

You could also try dampening your brush a bit. I have some hard to work with shadows, and sometimes just spritzing a bit of Fix+ (or whatever you have) helps it out. Definitely try playing with it beforehand to see if it will work right. I’ve tried to do spur-of-the-moment wet eyeshadow and had to live with the consequences for the rest of the day.

another thing you can use, that i myself am SUPER fond of now that i have it and I THINK its worth every penny, is the too faced glitter glue… I swear by this stuff when i play with eye shadows that have glitter in em… I actually purchased it bc Marlena used it in a video.., i believe it was the tequila sunrise look, and it is seriously the best product ever!!

I have the urban decay naked palette and i am in love w the color ‘sidecar’ but the stupid glitter would trickle down my face… once i applied the glitter glue beneath it color the problem went away and now ‘sidecar’ is probably one of my all time favorite colors in the palette.. Its $18 i believe but seriously! SERIOUSLY!!! itll last sooo long! a tiny bit goes a longgggg wayyyyyyyy=) Good Luck

Actually this is a question for DeeDee87 ^^^

What is the Too Faced Glitter Glue? How do you use it?

    Thanks, Jen

SO SO SORRY! I have not signed in in a while so  hopefully you had found out by now but if you have not it is used the same way as a normal primer except that it has more of a stickiness to it which helps the glitter adhere to the lid…

Its pretty simple… all one needs is a small amount… dab some on the lid (over eye shadows wont be a problem) then apply the glitter.. i would not recommend waiting too long.. the stickiness is what helps keep the glitter from falling everywhere.

also its available on toofaced.com or you can buy it at sephora like i did=) hope this helps!!!

I just got the Naked 2 palate for my birthday, and I love it except for some of the best shades are so damn glittery! Ran right out and got the Glitter Glue like you suggested, definitely a great investment!! You DO have to act fast once you put it on, and its not very easy to blend over. SO glad I got this.

There are a few pretty easy solutions. Brush on a fair amount of face powder under your eyes and then apply your eyeshadow. When you are finished, brush away the excess powder and the fallout with brush off easily. You can also hold a tissue under the eye while applying the makeup but it is a little hard. Another way is to take a piece of tape and place it on you hand and pull it off a few times to remove most of the adhesive. Then use that gently to remove any glitter fallout. Hope this help…:-)
