    Biggest help for me has been the oil cleansing method and switching to a hydrating moisturiser at night. I find that with a more hydrating moisturiser my skin seems far less prone to produce oil. I don’t use a seperate moisturiser in the morning though, just a serum before applying a BB cream is more than enough for me.

    Western bb creams as I heard are like tinted moisturizers. Asian bb creams however are really good! I have tried 5 different brands already and only 1 broke me out and that’s the Hanskin Gold Caviar BB Cream. Skin79, Skin food, Tony Molly, Etude, and Danahan worked really well. All these have a greyish cast though except for the Skinfood which match my skin nicely. They can make your skin look flawless and pore-less with only very little amount. It’s light on the skin and it doesn’t feel like you have makeup on. It also makes you look younger because it gives a frsh glow on the face. I haven’t tried Missha yet but will do so soon. I still have quite a few to finish :) . BB cream is a must have for me with my mineral makeup and I can’t live without them.

    I wanted to wait until I had a decent amount of tyme to actually try the BB Cream, b4 I came back and gave. Y 2cents! First off, I want to say… I did order the wrong shade, by accident! Haha I ordered during the Super Bowl, from my phone, & clearly wasn’t paying attention! Hahahaha I was going to exchange, but realized, it would have cost more then was worth it.. So I decided to keep it, and figured if it was too light, I could always give it to my sister! But, bc it does darken up, & I use a powder on top anyways… It worked out just fine! I was quite amazed by that! I have to say.. I love it, & hate it at the same tyme… & I honestly can’t rly pinpoint why! It does have a scent to it, that I actually really like. And it covers quite well, but yet, NVR looks or feels heavy, which i think is amazing. I have some acne scars that usually end up with a purple color, that are hard to cover at tymes, so I do has to use a concealer in some spots over the BB Cream, and then I finish with a powder… A lot of tymes when I am done, I do not love how my face looks… It’s hard to describe.. I like it, but something ab it, looks off, but I can’t figure out what… But after a few hours, & I am at work… I’ll look in the mirror… & everything looks great… So idk if it’s just bc they adjust over tyme..?! But, I like it enough to keep using it everyday, haha and I rly love how light it feels on my skin, & how it lasts for just ab the entire day… So far I haven’t seen any super huge improvements as far as my skin itself, but… It’s only been ab two weeks or so…. Sorry this post is so long, I’ve nvr been one to be able to give the “short version” as my family tells me! Hehehe

    Great to hear that it worked for you as well Winkie :) . Which brand did you get? I haven’t used liquid foundation for quite awhile now and have only been using either my mineral powder or bb cream and I think it’ll be this way for some time :)

    Since reading the craze about BB creams on this forum I decided to try an American brand (Too Faced) to see if there were really any benefits from this. I have not tried the Asian BB Creams yet but I have to say I would never buy this product again. I didn’t think the colour pay off was great at all. I Know they’re supposed to be a sheer wash of colour similar to a tinted moisturizer, but the colour payoff wasn’t half as good as my tinted moisturizer and I definitely wouldn’t have been able to go out wearing just the cream. I wore Vanilla Glow since I am very fair and I actually found it made me breakout! Since starting to use it I have had nothing but problem skin. I am going to take Aro’s advice and stick with/try the asian brands.

    @mikaela buff – I used the Missha brand & yeah, I’ve only been using that since buying it… I mean, I still hve to use a concealer & powder… But no regular foundations…. I just love how it feels on my skin…

    Have you tried patting on BB cream where you need concealer, kind of layering it? And what do you mean by powder, as you’re suppose to set a BB cream like you do a liquid foundation.

    I JUST saw Garnier is coming out with one this morning while I was getting ready. From all the negative reviews of stateside brands, it seems like if you are going to use it, definitely buy the real shit from Asia.

    @aro, I am assuming you r referring to me?!? Haha I do pat the bb cream on to “layer” it, & it works great that way for most places I need extra coverage… But I have a few spots that are almost impossible to conceal normally bc of the color I guess… So I use a small amount of concealer just on those few spots… & I use dusting of just a reg face powder to set everything.. Esp to bc where I work, something ab when I am there, almost no matter what I do, I get über oily! Haha

    @Winkie
    Ah, I think I follow. I have a few spots of pigmentation which are too dark for anything but a good concealer to cover.

    I layer my bb cream and it doubles up as concealer. I don’t need to use a concealer anymore because the bb cream takes care of it all. If I want a higher coverage, I use my mineral foundation on top of my bb cream and it works amazing! I have heard a few comments about the Garnier bb cream and most of them are not really good. Definitely try the Asian BB Cream and you’ll see the difference. They are available in eBay and Amazon :)

    I’ve used that trick, setting my BB cream with a mineral foundation to get a higher coverage, I also find it gives a more flawless finish. It’s not something I do very often though as I live the finish BB cream gives with just a regular setting powder.

    The thing about concealer though is that I have hyper pigmentation. I’m NW15, and while most of the patches are only 2 to 4 shades darker, I do have some spots which are at the darker end of the scale. Anything less than camo level coverage in even a foundation isn’t going to cover that. So it’s not like it’s something which would be easily covered if I was using foundation rather than a BB cream.

    I’m really thinking of buying BB Creams. There are so many Korean BB Cream brands in my country and now I am getting confused what brand should I buy, because I hear good feedback on every brand.

    Missha, Skinfood, Skin79, Faceshop, Etude. Those are the brands that I am choosing from. What do you think should I buy?

    Btw, I have tried Maybelline BB Cream but I get oily easily whenever I use it.

    That depends on a lot of things. Skin tone and skin type being the major considerations.

    The Missha Perfect Cover Cream that Aro recommended to me was perfect. I actually think my acne is healing quicker since I have started using it as my daily foundation. If there are any palies here like me (lighter than NW 15) #13 will probably be your shade. The only downside is that it stays sticky if you don’t set it with a powder and I hate that feeling :/
