    Hello All!

Ive pretty much been a minimalist in the makeup area for most of my life, especially with foundation. Standing up in a friend’s wedding, the bride has asked me to wear some coverage for photos. My face is generally pretty clear with exception to some redness in my cheeks. So far Ive tried Bare Escentuals Mineral powders which gave me wrinkles I didnt know I had, and Clinique’s Tinted Moisturizer which helped greatly with my cheek problem, but just wipes off unless I set with powder (again accentuating wrinkles).

Can any of you recommend a solution? Could I get away with just wearing something on my cheeks? Ive read a lot about primers helping with filling in lines and pores, some even tinted. Could I get away with wearing just a tinted primer?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I would definitely try a good primer before anything else as they really do make such a remarkable difference. Depending on how much you want to spend some good ones are Too Faced Primed and Poreless, (this is my fav) Benefit’s POREfessional and on the lower price range Palladio has a really good gel primer that I like as well. Bare Minerals makes a primer but I have never used it. My advice would be to try a primer and then try the Bare Minerals foundation again if you liked the feel of it. Using a tinted primer will not give you the coverage a foundation will. Hope this helps!

A tinted primer or concealer will simply cancel something out. A green one would cancel out the redness in your cheeks. You would still need to use something to cover them, though.

I’ve used one of the Bare Minerals primers, and I didn’t like it very much.

Meanwhile, what is your skin type? And your skincare routine?
