Hi… I’m trying out new make up looks and i’ve a few parties lined up and want to do my own make up (especially in the future I would like to take up a make up course). I’m really scared, or should I say nervous about mixing colours and blending in the outer V with the rest of the eye. I’m not used to having eye shadows on my lids-just mascara or hear and now eye liner… Any tips on how to make putting on eye shadow eaiser or tricks on blending and not adding too much color and making the whole lid and shading go wrong on me. Also, I have light brown skin, (asian) and a little tan, I’m a huge fan of pink lipglosses and nude lipticks, I want to purchase a raspberry/bloodish red lipstick, does anyone know of any good makes/shades I could buy and of reasonable prices-including its matching lipliner… Thanks guys, Nina xoxo

What also helps me is putting one of those sponge wedges under my eye prior to application; this way, it catches any fall out, and also gives you an angle to start forming the outer V, so you have a nice faded line. good luck! i know it’s scary at first, but like anything else, practice makes perfect!
July 5, 2012 at 7:26 pm #179861What kind of tools are you using? A good brush can make all the difference in application and blending. Makeup Geek sells a brush called the “Outer V” brush that made it so much easier for me to apply makeup to the outer v area of my eye and to blend it. For you lips, if you want a lipliner and lipstick that match, try using just a lipliner and filling in your lips with it as well. This is a easy way to make sure you lip liner and lipstick match. You can add different colors of gloss over the lips to intensify or play down the color. I would suggest NYX “Deep Red”. Then add a dark or lighter colored lipgloss to the lips. NYX lipgloss is some of the best on the market.
