When did Marlena come into your life?

She came into my life toward the end 2008.  I was going to a Christmas Ball in Dec 08, and i needed some make up ideas. Searching Youtube i came across her Hot Bombshell look and then convinced my mum to buy me MAC black tied, white frost and wedge…i still have them … oh dear!  The thing is, when they need replacing (which is probably a long time over due now!) they will be replaced with corrupt, ice queen and i already have latte, phew, one down!

Heres a pic of me at that ball, im on the right! As you can see, i needed some help with the makeup as the dress was brighter than the sun!

I think I found the site while looking for swatch pics. I buy most of my makeup online so swatches save me a lot of disappointment & returns.

Summer 2010, when I started to get into makeup seriously again. The first video of hers I watched was her more recent brushes video.

Back in 2008 I was searching for a quick easy eyeliner tutorial on YouTube, where I stumbled upon Marlena, subscribed right there and then, been a massive fan and subscriber ever since, and will stay that way til I die

Funnily enough, the first video of Marlena’s I ever saw was a hair tutorial! This was back in 2008 and I love that four years later Marlena & I good friends & now I even work for MUG! So proud to be part of such a great team of people

I discovered makeupgeek and Marlena’s tutorials after I got sick of makeupbee and their ridiculous blind-eye-to-photoshop policies. I think the MUG community is a lot warmer and friendlier, and that Marlena is absolutely freakin adorable! I spend a lot of time watching her and Goss on youtube…def my favorite two gurus <3
