My name is Lindsy McLean. I am the owner of The Wedding Godmother, which I opened in September of 2011. My business offers a variety of wedding and special event services, but my primary focus is hair and makeup. I LOVE what I do & I’m always looking to learn new techniques and styles. My obsession started in middle school when I would doll myself up just for fun. In high school, I used my love for hair & makeup to earn money during homecoming & prom seasons. I can’t believe I didn’t think to follow my passion as a career sooner!
Right now, I’m really trying to step up my game. I’m expanding my skills, learning new trends, using better quality products and building my client base. Beyond makeup and my business, I’m married to my best friend. He’s an EMT/Fireman, and is one of my biggest supporters. We love adventure, scary movies and spending time with our friends. Our Boxer is going to be 3 next month and she’s our little furry child. Love her to pieces! I listen to a lot of different types of music, enjoy foods from a variety of cultures and my favorite dessert in the ENTIRE world would have to be chocolate frozen custard with banana chunks and pistachios mixed in. It’s heaven in a cup.

I’ve been wearing makeup on a daily basis for around 15 years, but I’ve been fascinated by makeup ever since I can remember I have a severe eye shadow obsession and am always looking for the perfect bronze shade, which of course I can’t find (but that’s the point, if I found it then I wouldn’t have any excuse to keep looking, right?).
Anyhow, intros are not really my cup of tea, so I’ll leave it there!

Hi from a newbie! I’ve worn makeup for years, but in a haphazard way. My efforts aren’t terrible, but they aren’t great, either. Now that I’m pretty secure in my job, I’m paying attention to all the things I’ve been keeping on the backburner for far too long. Looking more glam is up there near the top of the list, along with eating/ exercising better, and getting more organized!
I stumbled in on Marlena’s blog by sheer chance, and just LOVE it!! I too have dark hair and dark eyes, and a curvy figure (altho’ not quite as va-va-voom as Marlena’s ) So I’m hoping to learn some fashion and makeup tips from her (and other readers, too).

I found this site several years ago, and it just keeps getting better! I joined the forum last summer and posted fairly regularly, along with creating a blog. This past year I got caught up with school and everything. I just graduated and I now have a summer to just do whatever I want before starting college. I’ll be devoting more time to this forum and my blog. I want to get back into the beauty blogosphere and sharing this wonderful obsession with all of you.

Hiya, another newbie. I first discovered MUG when I was in the midsts of planning my wedding and was considering doing my own make up. On the day a make up junkie friend offered to do my make up but I’ve carried on watching Marlena’s videos ever since! I like experimenting with make up, but have never been very ‘good’ at doing it, but I’m slowly improving thanks to Marlena and the team – keep up the good work!
Hiya everyone, I’m Eve. Let’s see, I live in a small, awful little town outside of Kansas City, Missouri. I’m a male-to-female transsexual lesbian. I used to be a crew chief on the F-22 Raptor in the Air Force. I’m incredibly poor, and as I’m currently trapped with my folks until I can get back on my feet, I’m being forced to present myself as male and I’m being completely denied access to my makeup.
I’d say I first started falling in love with makeup around fourteen, when I started using it for special effects on Halloween. I’ve gotten quite good at SFX, particularly injury effects. I can do one of the best zombies you’ve ever seen. I’ve started to get into more traditional makeup when I started transitioning. I gotta say, makeup’s one of the few things that make me truly happy while I’m doing it. Wouldn’t mind making it into a career.

Hiya! I’m Mia, currently living in the UK – I’m not great with intro’s but I’m willing give it a go….
Like a lot of women, I have been a ‘closet’ geek for many years – I LOVE make up but it’s never been something I have thought too seriously about – I kinda looked at it as something I had to wear everyday, end of … At the grand ole’ age of 33, I think I may have been going through some kind of belated quarter-life crisis – not loving my job or the situation I’m in at the moment, so thought maybe now is a good time to overhaul my life and now I am trying to explore new opportunities/avenues. One of those would be re-training as a make up artist… which is completely terrifying but at the same time: ‘you don’t try – you don’t get’. Besides, why not do something you enjoy for a living? Consequently, I am here to soak up as much info as I can and learn as much as I can and, hopefully, have a bit of a laugh doin’ it!
As a totally random side-step: I actually came across this website watching one of Marlena’s weightloss updates – I had been looking through NYX lipgloss reviews earlier in the week, then saw the update on Youtube… The penny dropped eventually, and that’s how I ended up here!
Anyway, I’ll stop rambling – just wanted to say hello!
