Guys I have really Oily skin i Prime and i powder but my foundation starts to get splotchy 4 hours and i retouch it up but i end up getting powdery and i hate that look !
i am using the revlon colorstay foundation for oilyskin and i use the maybelline dream matte powder but it doesnt work i have tried so much please can someone tell me of a long lasting foundation!!!April 5, 2012 at 6:11 pm #163518What’s your skincare routine?
April 5, 2012 at 7:19 pm #163527For me i have found two foundations that stay on for ever for myself. One of them being the colour stay for oily skin which you mentioned, but also what im using now, which is napoleon china doll foundation, its a matte finish. Another product that great is napoleon camera finish foundation powder. I use that on top to set foundation even though its a powder foundation in itself. But honestly it the best setting powder i have come across. Better than mac which i find it way to oily from my skin. They are expensive products so if you can get samples or try the products out before buying that might be better.
Another trick that i use to keep my makeup looking perfect for hours is after i have finish my whole makeup routine i spray my fae with hairspray, now i know there are specific setting sprays you can buy but for me hairspray works better than all those products.
Somethig that just came to mind also is what type of primer are you using? You might want to try a primer that is specific for oily skin if you do t already have one… to control the oiliness.
Hope this helps
April 5, 2012 at 7:19 pm #163528Managing oily skin is all about your skincare routine, so I second Shelly’s question.
April 5, 2012 at 7:55 pm #163536To Aro and Shelly My skin care routine is as follows hopefully you can figure out th problem
-Wash makeup off face
-Use lotion Toner after
-Apply Burts bees zit thingy on pimples that might be coming but thats only sometimes
-Apply eye cream
-Moisturize with aveeno daily moisturizerI moisturize my face like maye 3 times a day is that maybe why?
ANd the Primer i use is the loreal magic one that comes in a jar and is in a white cream. But I might look into that neopolean foundation and you should try the elf setting spray its really good! Lol but i kinda wana try hairspray now. And mac is to oily for my skin to cause the foundation just came straigt off in 3 hours
but thanks for the help Pamela!
April 5, 2012 at 8:16 pm #163539Why are you moisturising your face three times a day?
April 5, 2012 at 10:25 pm #163557Aro i dont know why I just feel like its helping my face out….but maybe its making it worse
i dont know…
April 6, 2012 at 12:15 am #163561Given the issues you’re having, yeah, I think it’s making it worse.
Depending on the cleanser you use it could be too harsh for your skin, which means it can end up encouraging an overproduction of oil. The same can be said for the toner (depending on how astringent it is), but also toners are fairly pointless and don’t really offer much benefit in a good skincare routine unless they’re AHA/BHA toners. While not part of the issue, I feel the need to mention that unless you have some very specific needs for your eyes you don’t need a special cream and can simply use the same moisturiser as you do for the rest of your face.
There’s all sorts of tricks to getting your makeup to last longer, but it’s all just a band aid on a broken leg if your skincare routine is working against you rather than for you, and given the issues you have it’s fair to say it’s not working for you.
April 6, 2012 at 9:30 am #163613i just wipe my makeup off with a makeup remover wipe. And yeah maybe me putting on moisterziier 3 times a day is telling my skin to produce more oil so im gonna stop that and hopefully it will help. Thankyou so so so so much Aro !
