I’m getting so frustrated when it comes to picking the right foundation and powder, because I always think I have the correct shade, and it never is! Whenever I put the foundation and powder on my face, it looks orange, a darker shade and I have a makeup line. It really irritates me, because I have tried so many things like Aveda, Covergirl, and Clinique, and they all always look orange! I’ve spent a decent amount of money trying to find the perfect shade that doesn’t give me a makeup line, or turn my skin orange. I’m ready to give up! :(

    Help?

What shade for which brand, what powder, and what’s your skincare routine?

Go to Sephora and have them color match you. Make sure not to be wearing any thing on your face so they can get an accurate color match. Ask them for a sample so you can try it before you purchase it, this will help you save some money and you won’t have to buy any you are sure you won’t like. As far as powders are concerned I recommend getting a translucent powder. That way it doesn’t add any color to your skin just does the job of setting your makeup.

The current foundation and powder I’m wearing is Clinique. I put an Olay moisturizer on my face before doing my makeup. I’m just sick of my face being orange.

Is moisturizer all you do for skincare?

Yes. I use Olay moisturizer. I’m also on accutane for my skin.
