I totally have a girl-crush on Marlena.
Even though I’m straight and married to a man, lol. Also…does anyone know why the ELF video was removed from the MUG youtube channel? ELF is one of my faves and was really looking forward to seeing it.
January 4, 2012 at 8:56 pm #145193Sometimes videos and posts for MUG go public before they were suppose to. I’ve seen it happen a few times as I follow via RSS so it’s something I notice. I’m sure they still intend to add it and that it hasn’t simply been deleted forever
January 4, 2012 at 9:49 pm #145201I want it right meow! lol I’m impatient. It would be awesome if MUG had a paid premium membership thing, so only the true makeup geeks can see the videos and order new items from the store before anyone else could. Oh, and maybe a discount/rewards kind of system. OR maybe live tutorials/lessons via skype, that way we can ask her any questions.
January 5, 2012 at 12:15 am #145214Actually, I really love that idea. A paid VIP membership. I’ve seen it done on other types of sites, you still had all the public stuff, but they offered extras and even exclusive stuff for paid premium members. I know one site in particular where they have a list of other sites that offer their members discounts or exclusive freebies, granted in this case it’s a web design site, but I think the same kind of thing would work really well in a makeup community.
January 5, 2012 at 12:31 am #145216I was in an MxPx (a punk bop band) fan club for several years, they offered a free download of a new song every Christmas, a 15% store discount, they also sent a t-shirt, an autographed poster, a few buttons and stickers, monthly contests with personal items like guitars, and autographed stuff as prizes once a month all for $25 a year. The band members also posted on the fan club forums and did live webcam chats/performances for us. I’d love to see MUG do something similar to this, but makeup related of course. How awesome would it be to get sample sized MUG eyeshadows in the mail once a year before they’re released?
February 2, 2012 at 3:47 pm #149559Thank you for the suggestion! A “VIP membership program” would be a great way of getting feedback on new/trial products before they are released to the general public. We have discussed having a membership program. It is currently in consideration, and may become a reality at some point in the future.
We really appreciate the idea. Do you have any other suggestions?

February 22, 2012 at 8:47 pm #153567Sweet!! I only have one last thing to add. With each paid subscription to a VIP membership, “members only” items could be sent small stuff, like easily made promo items like empty palettes, a single brush, brush case/holder, or even T-shirts with the MUG logo on them once a year, for a special occasions or even birthdays. A MUG VIP “prestige” line would be amazing, and I think it would be a nice gesture for the members.
