If you color correct for redness or dark circles under the eyes, do you use concealer over it? Also, what is the best type of concealer for under the eye area?

I had severe acne during my adolescent years and I have a lot of scarring. Most of the scarring is pitted and I have a difficult time camouflaging them. What is the best way to do this?

 My question is – Do you put concealer UNDER your foundation or ON TOP of your foundation?

I get bad dark circles. I have literally tried EVERY concealer under the sun. Some of the “best” ones. Nothing seems to completely cover them. When I look in the mirror and tilt my chin down you can still see the dark circles. You can’t seem them when I look straight ahead but when I look down you can. I have used correctors as well. I have watched videos on how to apply correctly as well. What advice can you give? I have also went to makeup counters and they weren’t much help either. Thanks!

    Hey Marlena,

    my questions are:

what can be used for really puffy undereyes and crepe-like skin under the eyes as well as something that wont emphasize my fine lines. Everytime i put on concealear(i’ve tried MANY brands) i feel like it makes the crepiness(which may be from being dry) even more pronounced and looks disgusting!

also- what is the best concelear brand and best formula for maturing skin and older women so that it doesnt look cakey or emphasize their lines?

I’m always confused with how far to put/blend the concealer. If you put the product too far out from the area you are correcting it’s a bear to blend without uncovering the problem area in the process of blending. At least in my very untrained experience. I’m wondering if it’s the way I’m applying the product and how far I’m spreading it or if it’s the products themselves. Most of the time I just give up on trying to correct blemishes due to frustration on not being able to make it look “natural” or more obvious than if I left the blemish untouched. I was wondering if you could take a bit of time on the video to show how to correct the common concealer mistakes people make as well as showing how to properly apply it. Thank you!

Hi! I would like to know, what is the difference between concealer and corrector? Is there any concealer/corrector for under eyes recommended for early signs of first wrinkles (I am 28), not mega full coverage though as I don’t really have problems with dark circles, would just like to even out skin tone. Thanks!

    Hi Marlena!
My question is – what is the best brand you can name for concealer that doesn’t set into fine lines? I also have a goose like skin under my eyes that emphasises by concealer as well. Maybe there is a line filler on the market to prime under eye area before applying the concealer that you can recommend?
    Thank you

What is lavender concealer for? Is there such thing as a multi-purpose concealer? I have purple under eye circles, redness and the occasional spot! Do I need three different products? Thanks x

Hi! Everytime I put my concealer under my foundation it seems to move on me after I apply my foundation. How do I apply concealer and foundation while keeping my inperfections hidden?

    February 8, 2012 at 5:17 pm #150670

    Hi Marlena!!

I have a couple questions actually. My skin is a milk chocolatey color and I never know if I’m buying my concealer too light or too dark, how do I make sure I have the right shade?

Also, I always seem to have the concealer get into the lines under my eyes, even when I wear a primer, am I doing something wrong?

And lastly, when I apply concealer over blemishes and then apply my foundation, the concealer seems to disappear and my blemishes are showing again! Did I put on too much? Not enough? Did I brush the foundation on too hard with the brush? It’s so frustrating! Help!

    Thank you!! :)

Mine is also about fine lines. How can I conceal my under eye circles with out making my fine lines more pronounced. I have tried many tips but none of them work. Whatever I do, the concealer seeps into the lines making me look much older then I am

I have really tried a lot of concealers out there, set them, used a small amount and blended well and all of them still crease under my eyes. My lines are not horrible but the concealer just tends to emphasize every one of them making me in turn look older. I have tried a lot of different types of consistencies of concealer and still no luck. Maybe you know of a concealer out there that doesn’t crease. I have tried the eve pearl one as well and still the same result. I really don’t need massive dark circle coverage but still could use some brightening under my eyes. Thank you in advance for any help.
