i just graduated high school, i live in california, and i want to get a job at any cosmetic store to get out there and get some exsperiences , i have no exsperience in this type of field, but i do have pictures of what i have done.. do i need to go to cosmetology school to get the job? what do i need to do to get my name out there?? Any advice would be nice! thank you!
With no experience, I wouldn’t recommend MAC. I have not worked at nor applied to MAC ,but from people I have talked to at the store and people I know that apply, they prefer you have a portfolio and experience freelancing to apply.
I applied to Sephora and you don’t need any experience. You just fill out an app. However, retail experience is preferred and love for cosmetics seems to be a must!
Also, I don’t know how old you are (I know some seniors are 17), you have to be 18+ to apply to both!

I work for MAC in the UK & know they require a cosmotology degree or whatever you call the qualification over there (I’m not too sure!) But over here it’s a diploma in make-up artistry.
