What are some good foundations that don’t produce flashback? I love the Revlon Colorstay but I’ve noticed in recent pictures that I get flashback with it.

Any foundation without SPF* will do, including but not limited to: Any Illamasqua foundation, any MUFE foundation, any NARS foundation, any foundation by a theatrical brand (e.g., Kryolan, Graftobian, Ben Nye, Cinema Secrets), MAC Face and Body. Oddly enough, Chanel’s foundations — all of which have SPF of up to 15 — seem to photograph well.

Another thing you can do is not set your foundation with a silica-based powder (MUFE HD is pure silica powder; e.l.f. HD powder contains it as well), or use less of it. Too much will also cause flashback.

    * I suspect the culprit is titanium dioxide which, in its pure form, is white.

Thank you sooo much for listing all those products! I’ve been looking recently for makeups without SPF or Titanium Dioxide because I’ve seen so many post about it before and I just wasn’t having any luck. I’ll definitely have to try those products out. And yeah, that MUFE HD powder is awesome as long as you don’t take pics. I took a picture with some friends one night and I looked like a spotted ghost! Crazy how that stuff does that!
