I understand that there will be things people miss about the old forums, features and add-ons that they feel this forum really needs added, or things they think would be really awesome to see added that the old forum didn’t have. Rather than having multiple posts which will ultimately end up getting lost amongst others as time goes on, I’ve provided this sticky thread for them.
I’d really like to see the profiles developed to include the ability to add what shade/tone and skin type you have, hair colour and type, what your favourite products are, space for describing your current makeup and skincare routine, and other makeup/beauty related info. I think it would be really helpful to be able to direct people to fill out their profiles to make answering their questions in the advice area easier on those trying to help, but I also think it’d be really great to be able to look at what others are using rather than hunting through endless threads essentially dedicated to the same thing.

I think it’d be really awesome to see some kind of weekly (or even monthly) post on the blog its self that features some of the tutorials and looks that are posted to the community.
I would definitely appreciate a “New Posts” button like the old forums had. It’s kind of a pain to go through and look for threads with new replies based on the “x minutes/hours/days ago” tag. I also second everything Aro suggested in her posts.

All of this, please. And it would be nice if we could get all of the old threads back if at all possible, unless we are starting from scratch which could also be nice considering all of the duplicate threads. The most active sections are gone. Could we maybe get a ‘thanks’ system too? I guess its a little like Reputation/Karma system.

Unless there’s a way to import from phpBB (or whatever the old board software was) to whatever this is (bbPress?), I don’t think that’s going to happen. Personally, I kind of like the fresh start.
Reputation/Karma points are a thanks system. I don’t think the board needs it, not like how I could seriously do with knowing what time a post was made in my own time zone, but I do think it’d be nice to be able to ‘love’ posts the way we can love looks in the idea gallery.
They tried to import the posts from the other board and it didn’t work, which is why everyone had to return to the old forum and there was all those issues with user names and such.
I just posted about how to use private messaging, so that’s now active.
We’re also going to add a link to newest post/recent activity within the next days, so that will be solved too
As Aro said, old posts import didn’t work properly, posts and their authors were all messed up, it was just unmanageable so yes, we chose for a fresh start.

I didn’t say say we NEED it above all things, I was just saying it would be nice to have one, no it isn’t priority over a new posts button, I was suggesting since this is the suggestions thread.
I really do miss post count though for some reason.
I wasn’t meaning that specifically towards you, it was more a general statement after Shelly had said she wasn’t really that fussed about it. That I agreed with her, and now you, that it’s not as important as other things, but is something I think would be a nice addition. And yes, the point of this thread is not simply to list things we think are lacking or that the forum needs, but to also list (and hopefully discuss) things we think would be a nice addition to the forum in general. There’s a lot more this forum can do, and an extremely long list of plugins available, and that list will only grow as time goes on.
I like having post counts and join dates bellow a persons avvie because, as a general statement, you can tell how active a person has been. Granted, I realize it doesn’t give you any idea of the ‘quality’ of those posts, but I tend to think that’s more a matter of personal opinion.

I also like the idea of having member titles associated with a members post count. If that makes sense:-? . User ranks I guess you could call it.
I have a couple of questions.
1.Why can you see only some member’s usernames on the main board and others just their avatar? Did we discuss this already? 
2.Also, my username is suddenly lowercase and while its not a big deal it bothers me (slightly,OCD) so if someone could fix that it would be appreciated. (Don’t kill me, please)
I’ve been wondering the exact same thing. To begin with I thought it was a username verses real name issue, but it seems more sporadic than that. You can change your real name it in your edit profile options, though why it’s changed without you having done it is bizarre. If you’ve tried changing it and it’s not sticking, so to speak, please tell us. I know I’ve tried changing my email, which at the moment has imported_ at the front of it, and regardless of the fact that it says it’s saved it hasn’t.
My profile is completely missing now, I’m so sad. I agree with Aro about having something describing skin tone/type, hair color/eye Colorado, fave products, etc.
