Dear Woman from Arby’s Drive-Thru,
When you come through Drive-Thru during the off hours, remember that we are under extreme (not kidding) pressure by corporate to keep our times under 180 seconds (this includes the time you spend from menu to when you have your food handed out). We are not McDonald’s, and do not keep our products ready made in refrigerated drawers. So when I ask you to pull up to wait for your chicken tenders, it’s honestly not for my benefit. If anything, it puts me more at an inconvenience to have to run across the parking lot to deliver you your food instead of idly handing it out a window. I am instructed by my boss, his boss, and so on to pull up a customer if the time it takes to prepare the order fresh is too long. If you have a problem with this practice, take it up with corporate. I thought you’d appreciate having freshly prepared food as opposed to food poisoning, even if you have to wait an extra 5 minutes. Do not scream your dissatisfaction at me through the window like I’m some idiot. Just because I work in fast food and you drive a Lexus SUV does not give you the right to talk to me like you’re better than me. If you’d rather not wait and have tenders that have been hanging out all day growing bacteria, I’ll gladly give them to you, but don’t come back complaining how they’re not hot or how you got diarrhea.

@KristenElena I understand completely where this post comes from. Customer service jobs are really sucky at times! When I get down I turn to http://www.notalwaysright.com or http://www.customerssuck.com, the stories that are shared on those websites remind me that I’m not alone when it comes to customers from hell (and also really disheartens me to know there are so many horrible human beings out there). /hugs!May 4, 2012 at 5:14 pm #169563
I understand completely.
For Wendy’s, we have to keep it at 124 seconds, and no the regular nuggets are not on the value menu, only the spicy. I do not know why it is not, or why the prices have gotten higher. Don’t yell at me if I do not fill the chili to the top because there is a specific line in the cup that I have to pour it to, and my manager will get mad at me. Same for the frosties.
I am just a college student needing money, so do not treat me like I am nothing.May 8, 2012 at 10:42 am #169944
