    Hello sweeties,

I’m going to participate in a Netherlands Fashion Week as makeup artist this year.

I’d like to know if any of you already had any experience alike?!

I feel a bit nervous because it’ll be in magazines and also on T.V, and of course it does feel much more different than work in a photo-shot or prom, the technician are different and the responsibility is a lot over the job. – not that any another client is less important – but when you have some experience in social makeup – it’s easy to keep calm!

I’d appreciate some advise and also, if someone had some experience alike, I’d love to know how it was!

    Xoxo

Congratulations! This is so exciting! My biggest pieces of advice would be to bring a variety of products and colors, especially in foundation since you probably won’t get to to a consultation with all the models beforehand and you won’t know exactly what shades you will need. I can say from experience as a model and makeup artist that nothing is more annoying than not having the right color for someone with an unusual skin tone. Also make sure you find out what lighting they will be having since different colors will look different under certain lighting (for example red lipstick looks black under blue lights). Knowing your lighting is important for runway since in a photoshoot if something is coming off wrong changes can be made but with runway you only get one shot at it.

Jaci, Thank you for your advise. I got the folder with instructions and has a makeup brand in the fashion week that will give all products and brushes, I think I don’t need to worry so much about it, right?!

Thank you for letting me know about the lights, I hadn’t think about it. I’m going to study it so, I can do better! :> I’m so happy about it!

Next year I want to go to Paris to study in the Makeup Forever Academy (some intensive course) I hope this works helps me to get in!
