Do you prefer “au natural” or manicured eyebrows? I came across a picture of me and my daughter taken about 3 years ago, and realized that I’ve only been waxing my eyebrows for about 2 years. I remember when I started esthetic school, it took the girls a week to convince me to wax my facial hair; scared the hell out of me. Now I’m considering letting my eyebrows grow out. So what do you prefer, manicured or natural shaped eyebrows?

Manicured. But my eyebrows don’t look like much au natural – and they need to look good for the stage. Plus its fun! So, in I go every 3 weeks for eyebrows (and facial).

I think it depends on what your brows look like.. I prefer mine manicured, but I see some women who have natural brows, and they’re just beautiful… Not every women has that luxury…. I think however suits you, and they looked groomed and polished… And it goes with your “look” if you get what I mean… For instance, most often a natural brow that is still well groomed, looks much nicer on a women who has a natural makeup look as well.

I think it’s a matter of personal preference and style balanced against working with what you’ve got and how they’re actually shaped when manicured (or not).

    Natural-yet-groomed for me. :)

I think your natural brows are very pretty, but I looked back at the other looks you’ve posted and your manicured ones are pretty too! I think you are lucky and can do either.

I will say that I do think dramatic eyeshadow looks are better with manicured brows. A sharply groomed eye seems to complement those more elaborate looks. On the other hand, I think natural brows paired with a less elaborate shadow gives the appearance of a really effortless, natural, and youthful beauty.

I like manicured eyesbrows too. Although, I think that I am going to let my brows grow out, as they do I am just going to pluck the out of place hairs.

Brow shade, heaviness, etc is a fashion item. The one thing I am sure you know is waxing will eventually prevent regrowth. This is from someone who has waxed for 30 years – and followed the trend in the 80′s – and have virtually no brow now (and wish I had some that I didn’t have to draw in).

If I had to do it over – I would tweeze for neatness and shape – and less for ‘fashion’. I’ve also had a couple of waxing oops over the years (burned once, a ‘hole’ a couple of times) – not fun.

When u tweeze or wax leave above the brow alone it well cause it to be thin after years and as u age u ll not grow as much hair. Waxing and tweezing eventually kills the hair follicle. Roundish wanna stay away from waxing I u use certain products on ur face

I have bush brows. Natural is simply not an option for me. My brows require quite savage plucking, both below and above, to tame them of their wild ways and prevent them from joining up and plotting world domination.

*grins* . . . it’s something I can laugh about now, but needless to say when I was in my teens it was quite embarrassing to be that girl with the bushman brows because of all the anti-plucking advice. While it’s completely true that hair removal will damage the folical and sooner of latter the hair simply wont grow back, given the abundance of mine, thinning would be a blessing rather than a detriment.

I like Aro had the busy, almost unibrow thing going on. My mother said I had brows like John L Lewis – I’d like to have maybe 25% back instead of my very thin, almost non-existant ones.

 If my mother told me I had John L Lewis eyebrows, I would have even thinner eyebrows than I do now!
