so eyebrows were basically the last territory for me to cover. besides blush (i have normally very rosy cheeks)

anyways, mine are barely there and heck, in some photos, it looks like i don’t have any. so i tried filling them in with a milani powder set but for whatever reason i stopped doing that and tried a maybelline pencil. normally i use high end products but i find brow products are generally just as good when cheaper. i like the pencil a lot but when i was shopping at sephora during the 15% off beauty insider sale, i decided to try benefit’s brow zings. i was thinking of returning it (i thought it made me look garish and manly) and then i came across a beauty girl on youtube and happened to watch her brow tutorial. my brows will never be the same! i would normally never use makeup geek to flaunt my own or others’ purposes, but since marlena doesn’t have a brow tutorial, i figured it would be fine.
i love how great my eyebrows look.

if you’re looking for brow products, i absolutely recommend the milani set: http://www.milanicosmetics.com/p-34-brow-fix-eye-brow-powder-kit.aspx , the maybelline pencil: http://www.maybelline.com/products/2/eyes/brow-liner/define-a-brow-eyebrow-pencil/medium-brown/643?shadeId=4, or the benefit brow zing: http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/product/view/brow-zings
the brow zing set is steep but it’s really neat in that it has a pigmented wax and powder. i definitely like this formula the best as far as shaping, defining, coloring, setting, and lasting go. you can really vary the heaviness with it more than most products.
e.l.f. has a dupe that i have not tried, but their products are well-loved. http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/eyebrow_kit

I love brow zings, it really is the best. My only problem is when I originally purchased mine from my nearest BeneFit counter (some two hours away), they didn’t have the lightest shade in stock so the girl sold me the medium and I find it too dark, given my hair is currently quite light. Maybe when I opt to go back to a darker hair colour it will work in a bit better.

At the moment I’m using Nyx eyebrow powder/palette which is very similar in concept to Brow Zings. I have it in blonde. It’s also a LOT cheaper than BeneFit. As much as I am a huge BeneFit fan and I do have a drawer full of their products, I find given I’m Australian that the prices are very expensive. When I want to buy BeneFit products, I have to make a list and then buy them all at once direct from America and have it posted over. To buy from Australia, for example, one BeneFit blush (which I love, love, love Sugarbomb) it’s $51 compared to $28 direct from the BeneFit site.

it’s so funny because i actually haven’t ever liked (not even in the slightest) any product by benefit, and when i bought it, i think i had said in the last ten minutes that i didn’t like the brand.
i don’t know anything about makeup stores in australia but i know that at sephora, i’ve returned things sooo many times after using them and they don’t even ask questions, not even if you are missing the box/original packaging. obviously you can’t return something if you’ve visibly used a lot. anyways, maybe there’s a makeup store around you that has a similar return policy? look into it; i don’t think most people in the us know about sephora accepting tried but not loved products.
so i was at sephora today, and i tried the dior brow pencil and it’s honestly the most ridiculously smooth buttery and crazy good pencil i’ve ever tried. ever. =P it goes for $29 but it’s amazing. maybe someday!

I wish Sephora shipped to Australia! Unfortunately at the moment they don’t.

Usually over here, once you use a product, you can’t return it. I’ll just keep it in my drawers and when I colour my hair darker, I’ll use it or give it to my 16 yr old daughter (she’s a brunette).

my friend has eyebrows like that! last weekend, i went with her to her first-ever waxing! i’m not sure where you’re from but in new england, you can get your eyebrows done for $10. i ALMOST wish i had thicker eyebrows so i could shape them, but it probably is a little easier to manage mine.

I didnt watch the entire tutorial, but I watched long enough to see what her real eyebrows look like. EEEK! How about, dont scorch your brows off to begin with, yikes! I mean, to each her own.. but jeeze louise. I shape my brows myself, and then just define them with a matte brown eyeshadow. Ive been curious about the various brow kits on the market, but with the shape and density my brows are now, I would almost feel like a Chola trying to make my brows what they arent. Its just a pain growing them out and looking like an unkempt hoodlum for a bit.

Thanks for posting this video~!  It was very helpful for me and my over-plucked eyebrows.
