Hi,
Has anyone tried the beauty blender knock off? I haven’t tried the original so I have nothing to compare my knock off with. I’d like to know there’s a big difference in the original before buying it.
Also, does anyone know of a place or website where the beauty blender 2 pack is under $20?
Thanks!
Kitty
July 5, 2012 at 7:19 pm #179851Yes, I tried several including the Sonia Kashuk, unfortantely none of them come close to being as good as the original Beauty Blender. Also, make sure to buy one from a legitmate store. Ebay has several being sold that aren’t the real ones but knock offs. The Makeup Geeks store sells the real ones..:-)
July 5, 2012 at 7:23 pm #179858Thanks for confirming that. I def want to try the original because my knock off did not impress me too much. I guess this product now makes the foundation brushes obsolete?
July 6, 2012 at 12:00 am #179910Not for me, I tend to vary between my stippling brush and the beauty blender. Both give a great effect it just depends on what kind of coverage I am wanting. I wouldn’t give up either of them.
July 7, 2012 at 12:26 pm #180168I have tried the dupe from ebay and it was a bit too plasticy for my taste. I do have the original but I still haven’t used it.
July 10, 2012 at 10:26 am #180520Just like to know if either of you have tried the mac version of this? Wondering how it measures up.
July 10, 2012 at 10:44 am #180522I have not, I didn’t even know MAC carried a sponge like that.
July 10, 2012 at 11:02 am #180525I have the mac one and I think it’s excellent….use it slightly damp.
As for the beauty blender sponge vs brush debate I would just like to comment and say i am literally a sponge convert. I never use my shishedo stippling brush. However the brushes do last you a really long time whereas the sponges must be replaced regularly even if you look after them. Seeing as they are about the same price this makes the sponges in my opinion a much more expensive option. So it depends how important price is to you?
July 10, 2012 at 11:38 am #180529Really, wow if the MAC sponge’s price is the same and just as great quality as the beauty blender then I just might go for the MAC since I can at least get it at a discounted price w the pro card.
Another question, do you guys think contouring of the face can be done effectively with the sponge as well?
Thanks so much for your input!
