I'm so excited, this is my first challenge! I am in love with both the book and the movie! One of my favorite quotes from the movie is of Jacob, Marlena, & August toasting "To talent and illusion". I was inspired by Marlenas look, but also by the circus freakshow of that era. What act would I be if I joined the circus?... here's my entry. Hello Muggies! I haven't seen the movie yet but I will for sure! Reese Whiterspoon looks really stunning in retro classic make up and hairstyle, love that! What about my inspired look - I added some blue feather earrings to pull up more the make up and hairstyle this is what I came up with:

Whew! Hope I got here in time! So I was inspired by the glam yet vampy essence of the look and suited it to my own brown eyes. The pictures may not show the colors really well but I hope people get the gist of it. For the lips I applied a light layer of a plum colored lipstick and on top of that dabbed a vivid brick red eyeshadow on top of that (Forgive me haha I have very little makeup). For the eyes I did a brown, plum and sultry gold combination using the basic template that Marlena uses. I had a warm reddish purple color, that had the crap blended out of it hehe, up above the crease and layered until it smoked out, then applied this gorgeous gunmetal brown color (sorry only way I know how to describe it) with gold flecks in it to the outer half of my lid and blended that up into the purple slightly. I added that sultry gold as a heavy pop in the inner corner, blended that with the brown color, then added a very light pinky purple color up above the crease to blend any lines and really make that purple stand out. Then I just added a brow highlight to pull the whole look together! I really hope that this is vampy enough while still being as glamorous as Reese's look is. Enjoy and good luck to everyone!

You can really see the gold pop and it fading into a sultry darkness. And if you look real hard you can see the plum accents in the dark colors.
