Weekly Challenge! ERA INSPIRED (3/14/11) WINNER ANNOUNCED

This week's challenge is going to be based off of different time periods or eras! You need to come up with a look specific to a certain era- such as 1950's pinup look, 1960's twiggy style, etc... You can choose any time period you like, so have fun with it!

Here's what you need to know:

-Challenge begins Monday, March 14th and ends Friday, March 25th at midnight EST.
-Winners will be announced Monday, March 28th
-Post photos of your look here in the forum: (Makeupgeek Forum)
-Only 1 look per person, and the work must be your own
-The prize will be the new NYX Nude on Nude Palette!! (This is very similar to the Urban Decay Naked Palette!)
-Two winners chosen: 1 for best look, and 1 at random, so everyone has a chance to win!
-Make sure to list what products you used, so if someone likes your look and wants to try it, then can
-This challenge is open to anyone from any country, but you need to be 13 years old or older

My Marilyn (circa 1950's) inspired look I did for Halloween.

I used L'Oreal Black Eyeliner, Quo False Lashes, Gosh lipstick & lipliner, Caryl Baker Visage Mineral Matte foundation, Coastal Scents 10 Blush Palette (to contour & for blush), Smashbox Masquerade for the eyes & a MAC Fix+ Spray to set the make-up in place.

This is my 1950's classic pin up inspired look, a pale matte base with some slight contouring and a soft baby pink blush, a soft brown colour worked into the eye crease, and a highlight on the brow bone, really dramatic winged liner and lots of mascara, then just matte defined red lips, i hope you like it !

Products used to recreate the look:

MAC studio sculpt foundation in NW43

Maybelline the Falsies Mascara

MAC paint pot in Groundwork all over the lid as a nude base

Urban Decay Naked palette eyeshadow Naked (nude color) for the whole lid

L'oreal H.I.P. duo in Dashing for the matte black for the crease and outer corners. I used a very thin pencil brush and drew on the bottom "false" lashes with this matte black as well.

MAC lipstick in Diva (I had to use it for the name alone, she's the true diva!)

Contoured cheeks with Black Radiance Ebony foundation

Sigma Brushes were used to create the look

Hi girls!
It's the first time I post something on here..im very excited.. XD
This look is inspired by 1950's make up,
But instead of using ordinary red lipstick and thick black eyeliner, I used hot pink lipstick and lime colour eyeshadow.
So it doesn't look so old and is more suitable for now days (esp. spring time!! YAY!)
I took picture of every step of this look, so if anyone wants, I can post it.

This is my first time trying my hand at one of these challenges and I'm terribly intimidated! You are all SO amazing! I really wish everyone the best of luck!

Anyways, I am a vintage loving girl so this was just too perfect not to try my hand at; so here it is!





This is just a fun 40's going out, night time sort of look! Note the Victory rolls, 1940's!
