Yeah, the HD loose translucent powder. $30 for .35 oz of 100% pure silica.

Very good to know. I was thinking of buying that with Xmas money too. Haha.

Their foundations are awful and either don't cover or look like its caked on. The lipsticks dried my lips out so bad and I've never had dry lips, mascara made me lose some lashes. It was very obviously a nightmare. Their minerals line is a joke. But I don't like mineral make up to start with, but thats another story.

Also, Bare Minerals or Bare Escentuals whatever they want to call themselves.

Avon's make-up works better on my skin... and last with the heat of the ovens at work... they are really much better than other cheap products I don't know why plus I don't break out in spots as much with them.... I also find them easy to come off of my skin and eyelashes....
but every one is different

Completely agree with the Avon thing. I buy stuff from them just because someone at the office sells it and they are sometimes crazy cheap or I just think why not but it always ends up sitting in my e/s box, in the trash or I give it to my mom. I don't think I've ever gotten anything that's good from them. Except some face washes and Silicone Glove and an oatmeal hand cream.

I don't like Falsies, BadGal or anything else with a big brush. They bug the hell out of me. Their messy and I don't feel like dealing with it.

I love their eye makeup remover, vividshock liquid eyeshadows, and their On Duty deodorant, lol. Other than that its a joke. Never really tried any of their creams because I have psoriasis and fear they would dry my skin out even more.

i think that avon is great for women who aren't super into makeup and want to keep an easy, affordable routine that feels more special than drugstore makeup. maybe it's because growing up, my mom would always have a couple items and i loved going through the catalogue (never knew about high-end makeup, and when i did hear about it, i thought it was just another expensive hoax, ya know?). she wears the eyeliners and shadow sticks and they look amazing. i love this lavender one she wears.

I think some of their stuff is a little on the expensive side considering how bad it is. Some of their foundations are $11 or $12 dollars and don't hold up at all. When you can't buy say Colorstay or something for the same price and get pretty good quality. Avon foundation literally melted off of my face. I used Revlon PhotoReady when I wasn't in a position where I could afford high end foundation and it worked great for me and was cheaper than alot of Avon's foundation. But I guess it works on some people, but it sure didn't for me.

I think it's like anything, what works for one person isn't necessarily going to work for someone else, and what doesn't work for someone may end up working well for another. Perfect example, you said Fiberwig XL didn't do a thing for you, but for me it's my HG of mascara. On the other hand, I personally consider liquid foundations a waste of breath, I've yet to come across one that lasts more than a few hours before either melting, fading, or oxidizing a horrible shade of oompa loompa.

I havn't tried any Avon products in forever. However, I know that one of the draws to Avon here in NZ was that it was cheaper than everything else. Most cosmetics in NZ sell for two or three times what they do in America, a $5us Maybelline mascara sells for $25nz here. And before anyone says anything about exchange rates, that's $20us. Revlon ColorStay and PhotoReady are $45nz, that's $35us. Insane, I know, it's why I don't buy cosmetics locally. But before the advent of the internet shopping experience Avon was the affordable option for many here. I imagine that for those who aren't comfortable shopping online it still is. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything that special about Avon, but then again I think that about a lot of brands. But I'm just trying to provide a little reasoning.

Holy crap, that is ridiculous.

That's why I said it may work for some people, but it didn't for me.

Yes, I realize you said that, thus why I used it as an example. Of course, to be fair, I don't use it to get longer lashes, I use it because it's the only mascara that gives me definition without ending up with all my lashes clumping together in a hot mess.

NZ doesn't have the same kind of competitive market that a lot of countries do. This is partly because while there may be a number of different shops a lot of them are either owned by the same parent company or supplied by the same distributor. As an example, all bar one chain of supermarkets in the country are actually owned by only two parent companies, and almost all movies and games are sources through a single distributor. So, most stuff in NZ is sold at reasonably the same price across the majority of stores, and while you do get specials and sales, you just don't see the same kind of open market competition that happens in other countries. Things have gotten so bad here that there's been a government inquiry into the cost of milk, because everything's now so expensive that a lot of families can't afford milk for their kids. Sorry to get off track, but it's one of my major annoyances at the moment. In truth, if a cosmetics company released their products here at around the same price as what they sell for in America, allowing for cost of import and staff of course, they'd make such an absolute killing they'd be hard pressed to stay in stock.
